You can't really go wrong with those two. I had GE at #2 and TLD at #4 (my #1 was CR).

Sorry to be jumping the gun (I look forward to the discussion which follows this reveal), but maybe it's time to do the Films themselves again. NTTD has had over two years to settle in.

Nice work! A fun game. I enjoyed reading everyone’s thoughts.

    My top 10:

    TLD
    SF
    GF
    TB
    NTTD
    OHMSS
    QoS
    LTK
    CR
    OP

Love TLD PTS, from the very first viewing and, all these years later I find it so breathtaking and exciting . For so long, GF was my go-to PTS. So slick and sexy and Connery looking like, and acting like, a straight up assassin.

But TLD kept plugging away until it could no longer reach a higher standing than my number one. I knew then that Roger was no longer James Bond, that’s for sure.

GE’s 21st spot was mine. In many ways it ‘borrowed’ many elements from MGS2’s tanker chapter (I’m sure those who played that groundbreaking game noticed the many similarities) but felt short of producing the same wow effect achieved by that game.
It also didn’t help that I wasn’t really sold on Bond and 006´s close partnership from the little screen time they shared, even upon repeated viewings of the entire film.

I had TLD ranked 4th and it is indeed a worthy winner.

Thanks @GoldenGun for yet another entertaining ranking game.

TLD was my #1 too. Absolutely brilliant opening, the first time the series perfected how to introduce a new Bond. GE was my #5 too and it’s another great one.

Did it not come out several years before that? Unless I've misunderstood what you meant.

To my great embarrassment, it actually did… six years later to be exact. I can’t believe I got mixed up on something like that 😅
It’s no secret that Kojima drew heavy inspiration from the Bond films (one of the major characters in MGS3 even directly references FRWL) when creating his beloved franchise.
But my point stands regarding the PTS lacking in dramatic effect compared to the game’s opening cinematics.
I might also add that I find Harry Gregson-Williams’ score to be superior and much more Bond-like than Serra’s offering.

Phew! Too right TLD makes first place, my number 1, its superb in every way, and Daltons intro shot still gives me goosebumps! Great action, great music, really well put together from start to finish!
As for GE, meh! 17 for me, the best part is the scene with the barrels. Apart from that, cringey dialogue ("For England, James?") Brossa has the presence of one of those barrels, and Sean Beans Derek Nimmo impression still grates! Enough of that, a worthy win for TLD, thanks for organising @GoldenGun

We played this game before in elimination-style in January 2022, just after NTTD came out and when the forum was considerably more active. It is interesting to compare the results if you consider that this time around, 18 months later, when there were more hard-core fans involved and one had to come up with a personal ranking to enter, the current ranking might be more nuanced.

Title / Elimination Ranking 2022 / List Ranking 2023 (Change)
    FRWL 8 / 12 (-4)
    GF 6 / 4 / (+2)
    TB 15 / 17 (-2)
    YOLT 21 / 22 (-1)
    OHMSS 7 / 5 (+2)
    DAF 24 / 24 (0)
    LALD 23 / 23 (0)
    TMWTGG 22 / 21 (+1)
    TSWLM 5 / 3 (+2)
    MR 11 / 9 (+2)
    FYEO 19 / 19 (0)
    OP 16 / 8 (+8)
    AVTAK 20 / 20 (0)
    TLD 3 / 1 (+2)
    LTK 10 / 10 (0)
    GE 1 / 2 (-1)
    TND 13 / 7 (+6)
    TWINE 12 / 15 (-3)
    DAD 17 / 18 (-1)
    CR 4 / 6 (-2)
    QoS 14 / 13 (+1)
    SF 9 / 14 (-5)
    SP 18 / 16 (+2)
    NTTD 2 / 11 (-9)

I have boldened the stark differences and it is obvious that the enthusiasm for NTTDs PTS has waned a lot (it has fallen 9 spots) after the initial excitement. Also SF got a significant down-vote (fallen by 5). It seems fans have taken a step back and struggle what to make out of Craig's tenure. Also, FRWL got adjusted down 4 ranks.
The clear winners are TND (+6) and - surprisingly - OP (+8). Is it a coincidence that both those PTS feature airplane action? What are your thoughts on this?

It was once again a great game. Thanks a lot @GoldenGun

I gave TLD the silver medal and GE earned bronze in my ranking. Very happy with this but I wasn't aware that the GE PTS is still loved so much much (apart from @Mathis1 , of course;)

The bungee jump was a main reason why started to love the Bond movies (but I also love the rest of the PTS, especially "You can't win" and then the barrels are falling down).

The TLD PTS is perfect and I'm also a big fan of the ending on the yacht. This is exactly how a PTS should end:) (Surprisingly, there aren't many where Bond is together with a woman at the end of the PTS....AVTAK is another example)

@zebrafish That's a great statisitic. Love it. I'm the crazy guy who still loves the NTTD PTS!

I think henchmen is also a good idea. Probably Bond films and henchmen would have more participants than performances because I assume many people would consider ranking the performances to be difficult.

Ranking performances is indeed too difficult for me.
