DAD tries to honor every film before it and drowns in it (although Q's Lab and bring back the Aston where nice touches), and it suffers for it. Also the title of the film is forced down Brozzer's throat. This with The Bad CGI, Racism to the twelfth degree, Breaking every law of physics and motion, The Gun in the engine, The invisible car, one supper rubbish bond girl, The same damn plot with the space laser!!! and bad acting and dialogue delivery. Make DAD a Bad Bond (although I watch it when i'm in the mood for a bad film.) with the exception of the design department and Miss Pike.
QOS I see as the boutique bond film. The one with the arty camera angles and sets. But Craig dose what Brozzer didn't and hold the film together!! Gemma Arterton and Giancarlo Giannini are also so brilliant! and don't get me started on the car chase and the best use of action in any of the films. I know it has its floors: The Baddies, The Plot. But the thing is it tries to do something that no other Bond dose while it fails it tries.
In short let me put it like this: Is the franchise being rebooted after QOS?
Really I think that's unfair to DAD. The franchise didn't get rebooted becasuse of DAD; it got rebooted because MGM finally got the rights to CR and since it was Bond's first outing they wanted to make him a younger agent, plus they were trying to compete with the Bourne movies. At the time of its release, wasn't DAD the highest grossing Bond film?
Yes, and I believe QoS is right now.
By the way, which one's actually highest? Is it TB?
I made a mistake - It's 1) TB, 2) GF, 3) YOLT, 4) FRWL and 5) LALD. CR is 6th and QOS is 11th.
As for attendance : 1) TB, 2) GF, 3) FRWL, 4) CR, 5) LALD.
DAD did have a story, God knows what QOS was about. If anyone can enlighten me, please do.
So, four Connery's a Moore and a Craig (plus a further Craig down the list). I didn't think that TB would score so high on that list (if it's TV viewings had anything to say about it, I figured it would have been lowest, as the movie's rarely on TV).
A link for the full list, please?

What would the list be now?
The same order, just higher values for all films. For example Thunderball is now over $1 billion. This is of 2011 though, we'll be able to calculate the series as of 2012 in a couple of weeks time.
I was going to post the list for Skyfall when it's released to see how it fares but it looks like I was beaten to it - LOL.
Except that QoS is now 10th instead of 11th? Did it just swap places with GE?
Yes. Quantum Of Solace has always been tenth.
One very important thing for people to bare in mind is that no Bond film ever brought in less than three times its budget, thereby effectively being a "successful" film in financial terms.
I love this series. :x
Thanks. Clear as mud.
;)
I never got that either.
I went along to see QOS with 8 friends, and I was the only one at the time who came out liking it. But you see, I like it by default, because it`s Bond. With retrospect, it is a messy movie, devoid of a lot of things I happen to like about the previous Bond films.
With a series that has lasted so long, there are bound to be the odd stinker that comes along, I hope Skyfall does better, although I fear it could become a bit of a luvvy fest.....and please, no more over dramatised spewing from Dench.
Another time, after Bond meets with Yusef, Bond walks away from M after saying "you were right about Vesper". What was M right about? At the end of CR she said to him that she gave her life to save him, so was he agreeing that her motives were good? Does anyone here know the answers to either of these? They stump me. :-??
Well, I'm still in the dark about Mathis and his "cover name". I tend to ignore that part (I assume, of course, that the chief of police knew that Mathis worked for/works for MI6, and he's obviously under Quantum's thumb, and so he reported it to Greene, and Greene ordered him to have his men kill him).
As for Bond with Yusef, something tells me there's a scene that might have been in the script (or even filmed) that had M telling Bond something about Vesper, which Bond didn't believe, then after he speaks with Yusef, he discovers that M was right all along, and since Forster didn't want to sacrifice the relationship with Bond and M, he kept the scene of Bond telling M she was right, with no reference to what it was she was right about.
When I novelize this film for my Fanfiction.net account, I'm gonna have to use a lot of glue and paste explanations into places they need to be.
I always assumed what M was right about was that Vesper did do everything that she did for Yusef; Bond only had it confirmed once he saw Yusef with the Canadian Intelligence woman.
By "did everything", you are referring to the confirmation that Vesper agreed with Quantum's demands to save Yusef? M could be right about a number of things. She could be right that Vepser knew she was going to her death when she delivered the money in Venice, though it doesn't fit. But after he says that M is right, Bond tosses the Algerian love knot into the snow. I view it as a sign of him moving on, but does anyone view that differently?
