I recommend reading them! The adaptations of OHMSS and YOLT are superb. I also miss a few of the VHS tapes from Tomorrow Never Dies onward. I've built up quite the collection over the fast few years. I'll have to post a picture
That must've took quite some time to collect all of those!
Sweet! I am looking forward to them.
I'm thinking of taking a pop at this with my French copy of LALD (which I must post a picture of; it has Connery on the cover).
Nice. It's an interesting experiment. I'm not sure how successful I'll be or how long it will take.
I always keep the previous sets. I'm sure I'll be up scaling from what I have now, but I always like to sometimes mix it up when it comes to watching the movies, case in point I'm watching OHMSS on VHS right now
They are the UK PAL version, wide screen. If there are any takers, for FREE (postage would be welcome, but not essential), let me know or they'll end up in the great beyond, aka regional garbage incinerator, Monday after next. Where all my other VHS already went.
With hindsight I wish I had I kept the DVDs and Videos even if just for display, one set of videos had some great art once all the videos were aligned.
I've got the Titan Omnibus' - all 6 of them. I really like the cover art. I've only read the first one. But that's the same with the continuation novels and off shoots (moneypenny diaries and young bond) - I haven't read any of them except the Horowitz latest and a couple of Gardner ones. But I read them out of order when I was young so I'm going back to the start. I finished Licence renewed and heading into For Special Services.
I decided against collecting many elements of Bond - cars, posters, VHS, and DVDs - mainly because the cars are expensive and the others take up space. I have the Fleming hardcovers (only missing CR), all the great pans, the yellow band pans and the movie tie-in covers - I really like those. And any books about Bond - making ofs, celebrations, essential bond, encyclopaedia etc. I have all the soundtracks on vinyl from DN to LTK. Just missing SP. and of course I have my pride of the collection - the complete Role Playing Games from the Victory series of the early to mid 80s. They're the only ones I spent good money on hunting down. They would be my favourite thing in the collection.
I had them and more :(( Great collection
You threw away your plastic cases?! Why would you do that?!
An impressive collection, but why do you need multiple copies of the same film on VHS?
I myself just purchased one of these for my DVDs - I didn't throw the DVD cases away but I put them into storage. Kept all my Blu-rays on their cases, however. Was definitely a nice way to save a little space if you're tight on it.
Just get a new book case, more shelves - anything! DVD/Blu Ray collections are to be on show!
I understand having two copies, one to watch and the other as a collector's item, but why so many copies of one movie?
If you collect making of books, then do you own The Making of OHMSS by Charles Helfenstein?
I live in a townhouse condo- no basement, no garage, no extra room, not many closets, and both bookshelves are loaded with books. I used to keep them all in a closet, pilled into boxes and bags. Bonds were always on top for the easiest access, but it was not displayed in any way. I reasoned since they'd never BE on display, throwing out the cases wouldn't be a loss of any real kind. Now these binders are near my player & I can access any one of 500 movies in seconds (it used to take me sometimes 10 minutes to find a movie- even with the Bonds on top they would occasionally slide off & hide between/behind boxes near the floor.
My father worked at a library and they were getting rid of their VHS tapes and replacing them with DVD's. He would bring home the tapes since they were still good and a nice chunk of them were Bond movies. :)
:x
Oh yes as well as all the cool alternate cover art I get to enjoy as well. :)
Excuse me?
So much nostalgia! Nice work.
