    Live And Let Die

The Man With The Golden Gun is quite sloppy and insipid. IMHO :)

    LALD 14-5, LALD's favor.

Looks like a Hulk smash on TMWTGG, so far. ;-)

Ah the two entries before Moore truly found his footing. LALD easily.

I'll go against the tide again this round and vote for TMWTGG. A minority opinion I know. While Jane Seymour beats Britt Ekland and Wings beats Lulu, I otherwise find most of TMWTGG improves upon LALD IMHO. John Barry is back. Bond's back in a tuxedo and at the gaming tables. For the first time since OHMSS, he got his briefing from M and flirtation with Miss Moneypenny back at the London office. The locations(Macao, Hong Kong, Thailand, Phuket) are far more exotic than in either of the previous 2 Bond films. Miss Andrea easily beats Rosie in the secondary Bond girl category. J.W. Pepper is equally brilliant in both. And Scaramanga is a strong contender for my favorite Bond villain.

All good points! I guess it's close for me, but I am going with LALD because it was a great, successful transition to Roger as Bond; and I like various parts of it (and of course the better Bond theme song).

Moore is great in both films, but I have to say LALD. I don't like the stereotypes but the girl, the theme song and the henchmen make it beat TMWTGG for me.

Live and Let Die is my favorite Bond release, you do the math

Although Golden Gun would be in my top five though, they are both very good Bond movies that keep the interest and Moore does a fine job in both, but LALD wins here
  • I have an inexplicable soft spot for both films. Even though I know some of Moore's later outings (in particular TSWLM, FYEO and Octopussy) are probably far superior in terms of quality, there is a heartwarming, almost cosy, re-watchable factor for me, when it comes to LALD and TMWTGG.

I'll have to plump for LALD. I think the impact of a fresh-faced Roger Moore, (after the relatively messy DAF), in his debut film, helped prove that there was life after Connery; a thing we take for granted now, but that was by no means certain before LALD took the box office by storm.

Live & Let Die this time. GG has its strong points but, as a whole, feels tired and sluggish.

Thanks. I forgot to mention that Q was back for his first appearances in the Moore era, another plus in TMWTGG's favor.

The Man With The Golden Gun.

Live and Let Die just doesn't do it for me for some reason. I can't even put a finger on why. Though, the book is relatively good. Slow, but good. (like TMWTGG)

    And it continues. LALD.
  • LALD. Better music, better Moore performance, no fake nipples, kung-fu teenagers or JW Pepper. Oh, and Solitaire :D

    25-7, LALD.

Yeah, we'll go ahead and end this one, thanks again for the score @Agent007391, it's heavily appreciated! I was very interested to see what everybody thought between these two. I thought we'd have a little higher voting percentage for TMWTGG, but I guess not! Anyway, good to see the votes for the bigger winner, LALD!

All right, let's keep it moving here, and this time it'll be a Connery face-off between:
