Right, so rather a rudimentary set of results this week. Yup, it was pretty much entirely predictable, but as these are arguably the most important of all peeps in the history of the cinematic Bond, it's also damned important for them to compete - and be honoured - in this tournament.
And, rightly so, the most honoured of 'em all is the man, the legend, the late Albert R Broccoli - he fittingly takes the last regular gold of the entire contest. Joining him on the podium, again rightly so, is his partner of so many years and so many flicks, Harry Saltzman, while his son-in-law and one-time partner Michael G Wilson takes the bronze.
Not far behind the top three is Babs Broccoli in fourth, making it a near total family affair at the top, while the controversial non-Eon producers Kevin McClory, Jack Schwartzman and Charles K Feldman have to settle for fifth, sixth and seventh respectively.

Yes, it was the United States' week this week, all right, taking as it did first, third, fourth, sixth and seventh place (that's 27 of the total 39 points on offer) and confirming it's utterly deserving of that second place on board it secured long, long ago.
But spare a thought too for that plucky little island, er, Ireland, which with its oh-so valuable four points gained here leaps three places up to an excellent eleventh place in the table. And, not to be overlooked either, Canada is now level on points with Germany in fifth place thanks to its silver from this contest (its third of the tournament).
But just who will secure that fifth place between the Canucks and the Teutonics? And what of that tussle for third between the Italians and the French that seems to have gone on all tournament? Well, all will be decided in Event 27 - the final event - which is coming right up, folks...! :)
... yes, as the Olympics traditionally comes to a close with one of its 'blue ribband' events the 4x100m Relay and/ or the 4x400m Relay, we're closing ours with the 4x007 Relay. But what's that, I hear you all ask...?
Well, it features the top eight nations in the Medal Table (which is why I've been banging on recently about why it's so important for those in the running to finish in eighth place or better for this event ;) ), each of which will compete against the other as teams of four competitors. These four competitors will be those who have performed the best for their respective nations - that is, those who've either won medals or the 'best colour' medal or whose (if many have won a gold medal) have accrued the highest percentage of total number of votes possible in their individual contests.
Then, as in a real relay race, one competitor from each nation will compete against a competitor from each other nation in a 'leg of the race', before 'passing the baton' on to the next competitor in their team who does the same, and the next does the same and the next does the same. All of which means there'll be four legs in total, after the last of which the result of the contest will be known.
It may well sound a little complicated, but don't worry, in practice it'll be simple as pie. Honest... ;)
The competitors:
Of the four competitors representing each nation, the fourth best will 'race on the first leg' (the first quarter of the contest), the third best on the second, the second best on the third and the very best on the 'anchor leg':

So, quel surprise, England lead this final event after its 'first leg' with Canada showing some fine form in second and their North American neighbours the United States in third. No surprise surely that the DB5 and Lois Maxwell - two utter legends of Bondom - have got their nations off to a great start, but perhaps something of a surprise that Robert Davi overcame Louis Jourdan, Roald Dahl and the Lakes Como and Garda to keep the Yanks ahead of French, Welsh and the Italians. At least so far...
The second leg of Event 27 coming right up, folks...! :)
... yes, as the Olympics traditionally comes to a close with one of its 'blue ribband' events the 4x100m Relay and/ or the 4x400m Relay, we're closing ours with the 4x007 Relay.
Christopher Lee
Maurice Binder
Venice (CR)
Claudine Auger
Mount Asgard (TSWLM)
Gert Fröbe
Timothy Dalton
Andermatt, Furka Pass and Rhone Glacier (GF)
So, the task is simple... please arrange the eight competitors above into your favoured ordering - first to last (greatest to least) in terms of their contribution to the cinematic James Bond.
Note: Voting for this first leg of the event should remain open for about 24 hours.
Oh, and just a reminder - when you do vote, please vote in this manner, chaps (as outlined in the thread's opening post); makes it a hell of a lot easier for me when I'm totting up the totals... ;)
