James Bond fans to decide 007's best movie poster ever

Royal Mail are marking the 50th anniversary of the James Bond series with a very special limited edition commemorative sheet, featuring ten iconic Bond movie poster labels alongside ten, first class, Union Flag stamps. With 22 movies to choose from however, the task of deciding exactly which of the iconic Bond images will make it into the pack is fiendishly difficult. Which is where you come in because the final ten posters will be chosen not by Royal Mail, but by you, Bond’s most loyal fans. Every Bond movie poster from the last 50 years is available here to view, allowing you the once in a lifetime opportunity to decide which of your favourite ten will be immortalised in this special edition.

Good find, Samster. :)

Not exactly all the posters, though, is it? All the major UK posters for each film, more like. But, hey, a nice idea for sure from old Royal Mail there.

And to answer the question, my choices were:

YOLT, OHMSS, LALD, TMWTGG, TSWLM, MR, FYEO, OP, GE and CR

It looks like they really are planning a lot of things for the anniversary!

My votes: DN, FRWL, GF, TB, YOLT, OHMSS (all six posters from the sixties are great!) + LALD, FYEO, TLD, GE.

I picked the first ten though I really wish I'd have maybe chosen some of the later efforts now.

I think as long as the most recent films aren't there, I'll be OK. Not really a fan of GoldenEye's or Casino Royale's personally.

I picked:

DN
FRWL
GF
TB
OHMSS
TMWTGG
FYEO
OP
GE
CR

How on earth is OHMSS fourth from the bottom?

I think i choose:FRWL,GF,YOLT,OHMSS,FYEO,OP,DAD,CR.. (can't remember about the others)
It looks like we can vote more than once?

I picked them on the quality of the poster, not just my favorite films. It appered to me thats what happened with the majority of others' votes.

I believe it was:

DN
FRWL
GF
OHMSS
YOLT
TMWTGG
FYEO
OP
TLD
CR

Great find Sam. Good work as usual.
So to the important stuff, my votes went to the following : DN, FRWL, TB, OHMSS, LALD, TSWLM, FYEO, OP, TLD, TND.

TLD being my favourite of the bunch. Not a big fan of the simple designs for CR or GE.
Looking across these posters in a group, there really are some great ones. Those for LALD, DN and FRWL stood out.

Wow Benny we voted 9/10 the same. Picked DAF over TND though.

Sad to see TSWLM so low in the rankings, it's a fantastic poster :(

I picked:

DN
FRWL
TB
OHMSS
LALD
TMWTGG
OP
TLD
CR
QoS

LTK, OP, TMWTGG, and LALD need to be higher, but at least the beautiful FRWL is still up there. CR is deserving, but OHMSS is unfairly treated. I don't know how AVTAK isn't dead last. What an atrocious poster! Bond and Mayday look just plain cartoonish before an ugly cream background.

Great minds think alike Disco.
There are several on the list that are far too low. It's really quite bizarre.

Good find! I voted:

DN
FRWL
GF
TB
YOLT

OHMSS

OP

TLD

GE - fond childhood memories of being in primary school and seeing this on huge billboards. Made me wish I was old enough to see the film at the cinema.

TWINE - not for the film obviously! But I actually like the poster a lot. First Bond movie I saw at the cinema, so maybe I'm sentimental to this poster for that too.

Lovely find indeed Sam!

anyway, voted the cuurent top 5, CR,DN,FRWL,GE and then TLD,LALD,OP,OHMSS, and TWINE.
Figured it would be fun if atleaast all the actors were represented, and then chose the posters i like best. Seems I've got a general taste.. ;)

I chose the ones based on how they looked, not how the movie was:

DN
FRWL
GF
YOLT
MR
TLD
GE
TWINE
DAD
QoS

Funny that GE isn't that popular on here - as far as modern Bond posters go, it's outstanding. Great composition and wonderful colours. It shouted the return of 007 in the '90s to me and still does.

Not surprised OHMSS is near the bottom on the actual site - it's more to do with the general public's ambivalence to the film than the actual quality of the poster, methinks. And, dare I say it, it's the other way round when it comes to TB's poster. ;)

Much of the artwork for TB is ace, but that particular poster is pretty dull to my mind. Much better is the three-part whole poster on which, if I'm not mistaken, it's the bottom third. Just my two cents' worth.

I did pick a poster of each 007 performer, because I find they have all to be there since they all are part of the magic.

Shame you can only vote for those. For example i missing the girl from Goldfinger http://www.filmwerk.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/goldfinger_poster.jpg .
Because i can't vote for this one, this vote going to OHMSS.

I vote for:

FRWL
OHMSS
LALD
OP
TLD
LTK
GE
TMND
Twine
QOS

The one from LTK, GE, TMND, Twine (and QOS) i own my self in another format.
From DAD i prefer the Blue one http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/1/11/007DAD1.jpg/220px-007DAD1.jpg , the one i own not the gray one.

Nice initiative from Royal Mail!

Now a lot of the Moore ones are in the lead, and OHMSS is up there as well :)

If I don't remember it wrong I chose DN, FRWL, OHMSS, LALD, FYEO, OP, AVTAK, TLD, GE and CR (the two last ones mostly because I think all the Bonds should be represented on the stamps!).
• Nice find. Particularly like the 'shuffle' feature at the end when you've made your selection.

I like the Moore ones. Nice to see FYEO leading...though I'm surprisd FRWL is so lowdown as that strikes me as pretty iconic...

It's interesting looking at small 'stamp-like' representations of them. For example, DAD really stands out as an image looked at this way.

For the record, in no real order, went for FYEO, LALD, MR, TMWTGG, TSWLM, FRWL, GE, GF, TB and QoS

Wow, its changed a lot since I cast my vote. :O

The ten to be printed at the moment would be: 7 Roger Moore films, 2 Daltons and 1 Lazenby ! That would be a shock.

Anyone know when votes are closed?

Can we vote more than once? I know we're able to but any idea if they're counted or not?

It would be a real shame if none of the Connery films made it through. In an ideal world, all of the Bond's should have at least one stamp!
