@Creasy47, playing Battlefield will make you numb and dumb. Watching Sherlock will make you rich and famous! Watch it now!

Starting it up here shortly. I'll have myself a cigarette, one last match of 'Battlefield,' and then it's on to 'Sherlock' so I can stare in envy of how handsome and suave Benedict Cumberbatch is.

Yes, @Creasy, please watch Sherlock. Do it for Doyle. Do it for Holmes and Watson. Do it for us and every other Holmes fans in the universe. Do it or I swear I'll cry. You don't want that now, do you?

And I must ask: how much of this show has been spoiled for you?

I don't want that to happen! And surprisingly, I've had nothing spoiled for me. I've only seen the first series, and usually when I come in here to post for an update, I scroll straight down, post, and I'll do a quick check for replies. It's flirting with disaster, but after all this time, it's still all fresh to me, so the second series will be even better, going in with a blank slate. I'm about to fire it up, looking forward to it!

That's fantastic! You have no idea what you are in for. I am actually quite jealous of you, getting to experience everything for the first time, especially series 2. Travel onwards, good soldier, for there lay ahead many great treasures for you to plunder.

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, just started S1E1 now. I've seen this one a few times, but episodes two and three I've only seen once, and that was quite a while ago, so I don't remember much, if anything. I'm in for a treat, I think!

How the hell did you wait to watch series 2 after series 1's cliffhanger? You are about as mad as Moriarty, mate, if not more. ;)

At the time I saw it, I was already waiting, so when it arrived on Netflix, my memory of series one was fuzzy. It's just taken me until now to finally return to it.

Breaking news, breaking news: Dr. Watson updated his blog!!!

EDIT: no spoilers for those who already watched S1 and S2, I guess they are just making way for S3.

The BBC has scheduled Sports Personality of the Year for 15th December, meaning Sherlock is back on 5th January. Not long now!

I've read the post a few times now, I think it's brilliantly written. I just have to copy here the very end of the post:

"And I won't feel sad about it. Not any more. Because they were good times. We did good and we had fun. And that's what I'm going to remember. My best friend, and he'd kill me for saying that's what he was, is dead. Sherlock Holmes is dead.

But, by God, he'll never be forgotten."

The comments are great too... and there's something special in there for the keen eyed.

Sorry to post yet again, but just after Doctor Who they showed a new Sherlock trailer and BBC just made it available:

Thanks, @Sandy! I enjoy all of these tidbits a lot.
I am going to Dr. Watson's blog now. :)

Okay just read a bit - I especially like
the comments by Mary ... and that Harry asks, "Who's Mary?" ... and that you cannot click on Mary yet to get to her profile. Cever boys!
and that may not have needed a spoiler.

I'll keep reading the blog over the next few weeks - it should be fun. ;)

I am overly-hyped for series 3 to start now!

I like how the fictional fans for Sherlock are reacting in the same way as we do! ;)

Isn't that the same building where Bond iconically stands looking over London in SF?

Yes, it is. I think it should become an official tourist attraction.

Can this show get any better?

I started re-watching it (finally!) and it is just perfection. I'd pick them up on blu-ray if they weren't so expensive right now.

How far into the series have you come? :D

Well, I watched the first series a good while back, but the second series wasn't out. So, I've started a refresher course by rewatching S1E1 currently. I'll get to the rest after the weekend once my girlfriend has left, and I plan on having a nice 'Sherlock' marathon throughout Thanksgiving week.

    It sounds brilliant!
Be ready for the emotional S2E1, that episode is just about the best i've seen in television of all time. It is packed with everything. My feelings after that episode were just un-explainable!

I really wanted to continue after that great cliffhanger in S1, but since it was a good while after I saw it that S2 premiered, I just wanted to return to S1 first and re-watch it.

Anyone have any theories as to how
    Sherlock survived his "suicide"
    ??

Go back a few pages and some members tries to explain their explanation!

Do you think that in the season 3 we will be explained how
James Bond survived that fall ? :)

Yeah, I have a brilliant theory, and I really do think I've cracked it:
Moffat, Gatiss and Thompson are a bunch of big meanies! :-w

    Exactly, 0Brady!
    And
if you really don't want to have the clever answer given to you, whatever that is, because we are all guessing and the producers/writers are brilliant so our guesses may be close or way off, either way if you want to see it fresh and have the new show not spoiled for you ... I kindly suggest you don't read spoilers. ;)

Don't hit me now. Though I know you want to, and I probably deserve it.

Most of the spoilers are all series 2 related anyway, though there are some things untagged relating to series 3 that I don't want people like @Creasy47 reading for obvious reasons, as he should be aloud to enjoy the show unspoiled.

The only reason I came back to this thread is because I have been nudging him to watch the series for so long now, and I am finally able to see a play by play of his reactions to the show as he dips back into the show. I am enjoying it very much thus far, and can't wait until he reaches series 2. :)

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 have you read Watson's blog post? I think you would love it. I guess you shouldn't read the comments, at least until the end, although I think they are meant to prepare us for what is going to happen so they are not spoilers but something we should know beforehand. Am I being too cryptic?

Series 2 is magnificent, in my opinion. Hard to choose favorites, but I think Belgravia is my overall favorite episode so far.
