@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 have you read Watson's blog post? I think you would love it. I guess you shouldn't read the comments, at least until the end, although I think they are meant to prepare us for what is going to happen so they are not spoilers but something we should know beforehand. Am I being too cryptic?

Yeah, I've read it all. I just worry about anything being spoiled for @Creasy, that's all. One of the greatest viewing experiences of my life was watching this show (especially series 2) for the first time without seeing what was coming, and I want the same thing for him.

You're welcome @boldfinger. And it seems that Sherlock might be back for Christmas time after all! Arwel Wyn Jones (production designer) tweeted this cover of Radio Times

Sorry to disappoint you @4EverBonded but it's not an official poster :(

If the BBC are airing Sherlock over the Christmas period, that's a very cheeky way of filling the schedule.

Oh, okay - I read it was an official poster.
I do like it either way. :)

And here is a better link for the contest (tickets) - it ends Nov. 26th at 4 pm.

You're welcome @4EverBonded. And the synopsis for the first episode has been slightly updated. Again, I will keep these things in spoiler tags but they should not be considered spoilers but relevant information unless you haven't watched S2.
BBC One’s much praised, multi-award-winning drama Sherlock, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, returns for an eagerly awaited third series of three, 90-minute films – The Empty Hearse, The Sign Of Three and His Last Vow.

The contemporary re-imagining of the Arthur Conan Doyle classic, co-created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, has caused a sensation since it first aired in the summer of 2010, the last series delivering an audience of more than 10 million viewers who have tuned in to watch Sherlock and John Watson navigate a maze of cryptic clues and lethal killers in three thrilling, action-packed adventures.

In episode one of this new series, two years after the devastating effects of The Reichenbach Fall, Dr John Watson has got on with his life. New horizons, romance and a comforting domestic future beckon. But, with London under threat of a huge terrorist attack, Sherlock Holmes is about to rise from the grave with all the theatricality that comes so naturally to him. It’s what his best friend wanted more than anything, but for John Watson it might well be a case of ‘be careful what you wish for’! If Sherlock thinks everything will be just as he left it though, he’s in for a very big surprise…

Note: The big spoiler really comes after this, so if you want to stop you can still do it...

Benedict Cumberbatch returns as Sherlock Holmes, with Martin Freeman as John Watson, Mark Gatiss as Mycroft, Rupert Graves as Inspector Lestrade, Una Stubbs as Mrs Hudson, Amanda Abbington as Mary Morstan and Louise Brealey as Molly Hooper.

    But then I didn't. :D

We should get these three episodes with a bit of luck in less than a three week period, or maybe on the 22nd, 29th and 5th. This is looking like a good start and interesting to note two years have passed, the same amount of time as for us!

Great shot! :) I think Moffat looks more relaxed than Gatiss ...

And so he should be. He is sitting in John's chair after all, while Sherlock's is reserved for unrelaxed, anxious detectives eager for a case. ;)

Well spotted! And, after all, he's Mycroft!

He's Mycroft all right. Stiff back and all. ;)
But especially in the brilliant department.

Wow. Just finished series two, and wow. Unbelievably excellent. While I've (sadly) never read any of the stories, I had a feeling of where the ending of series two was going, but it all just took me by surprise and I'm eager to find out how it all happened.

Sorry for lacking on the play-by-play, Brady, but I was just cranking out episode after episode, it's so juicy and addicting. I can't get enough of it. Did anyone else get incredibly teary-eyed and emotional at the end of S2E3? Whew. The onions...

I think a truck carrying 300 pounds of freshly cut onions smashed into the house during the finale. It was crazy.

Whew, it had to be onions. Because, you know real men don't cry. Right? ;)

Isn't it amazing how everyone seems to be cutting onions while watching The Fall ;) I congratulate you @Creasy47, now you have watched one of the most intense, enigmatic and intelligent episodes ever to grace a television screen. Do you have a theory?

Just wading in to this thread to say that I've just bought the first two series of this show on DVD in Tesco for £10. I have seen parts of one episode before, but that's all.

@Sandy, on how Sherlock pulled it off? I'm clueless. I have ideas of what it involves, but I'm not sure. You?
