Interesting Mark Gatiss interview, there are a few spoilers including, in his own words, a "110 year old spoiler".

That's ok, I just backtracked to the independent's main site and found it.
Very nice little interview. :) Gatiss is living a golden life these days, and at least it seems he knows that and appreciates it.

Lara Pulver by Steven Moffat in The Spectator. Very, very interesting read about The Woman.

Thanks for posting that great article, @Sandy! "Belgravia" really did something special, and Lara was one of the things that made the episode so stellar. I look forward to where she goes in the future.

After all Sherlock is coming back on Christmas day. A special mini episode named "Many Happy Returns" was just announced by the BBC for the 25th of December.

"In addition to our Christmas schedule announcements, we can also confirm that we have a #Sherlock mini episode called 'Many Happy Returns'.

"Sherlock Holmes has been gone for 2 years. But someone isn't quite convinced that he's dead."

Many Happy Returns will be available online this Christmas."

Oh, this makes my Christmas even better! I am so happy they have done this, however "mini" it is. Thanks for this info, @Sandy. You're an angel. O:-)

Not only do we have a Christmas treat but the first episode airs between 9:00 pm and 10:25 pm on New Year's Day. Five minutes shorter than usual.

Thanks, @Samuel001! You have a halo, too, somewhere. ;)

I have got to get my act together and get this proxy service thing going, so I can watch this when it is shown in the UK.

I actually think that the one who doesn't believe Sherlock is dead is Anderson. Don't ask me why, but we already know John doubts it, and making it one of Sherlock's biggest rivals in the police department would be interesting. Maybe in series 3 Anderson will gain a new respect for Sherlock, and will have missed him sense he "died." Lord Doyle knows there have been a lot less cases solved by Lestrade and co. without him!

I actually think you may be right @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7! It makes sense to what we saw in the trailer.

That was a part of why I thought it was him, too. It would be an interesting character development with him if it was true. As for the cruel Donovan...well, who knows what SHE thinks about Sherlock's fall. I can't wait to see her eat her words, as Sherlock will no doubt make a big entrance and prove to all that he truly is the greatest detective in the land.

So this little Xmas nugget will be on BBC's red button service, online only. Is that correct? And what does that mean exactly? I've not heard of the red button service before.
EDIT: Well reading on the BBC online, it says the red button service allows viewers to watch different shows at different times, giving the viewer more control and options. A red button on the remote control perhaps? Anyway ...

So ... for me overseas, I just tune into the BBC at the appointed time? It is not online only, although I read that somewhere this morning as I was surfing the internet.

It will be posted online at the same time as it's available on the red button, which just means, as you thought, press the red button on your remote - not the off switch! ;) - and it will be one of many options to choose from. Just press, watch and enjoy.

Thanks, Samuel. :) I Don't think I will have the same kind of remote here in Asia, but I'll see if I can watch it on the computer for sure.

I'd love to get the first two seasons on blu-ray, but they cost so much. :-( I hate being broke. Would love to give this another marathon run right before the third series.

Tell me about it. They're expensive enough on their own, but then you still haven't added in the shipping costs. And to make matters worse, all the collections with both series 1 and 2 in one case are region locked to the UK.

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, like the link I sent you, they were both supposed to be roughly $18 on blu-ray on Amazon during that Lightning Deal, then someone made some false 'negative' review on it, so they removed it from the lightning deal to investigate any issues with what they were sending out, so only series two was available. I was going to pick it up, but I figured it would be useless if series one is $35 and I won't buy it at that price. No sense in watching the first series on Netflix and switching to blu-ray to finish it off.

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, you can buy a multi-region dvd player for regular dvds, but do they not have that option for Blu-ray?

@4EverBonded, they do, but he has a PlayStation 3, which doesn't have that option. Plus, region-free blu-ray players are usually much pricier.

I am sure they are expensive. But at least it is an option. :)
I know I'll be shelling out big bucks in the next 6 months to go Blu-ray.

I might upgrade soon and get a newer, better blu-ray player. I've had this one for years and it's really slow. I wonder if getting one that's more up-to-date would make the picture any better, or is that wishful thinking? Don't get me wrong, blu-ray quality is perfect, I'm just wondering.

The whole point of region-exclusive blu-ray players is for the money, and the price of the region-free ones are jacked up higher to still net them cash. I won't be a part of a greedy money-grubbing scheme like that, I assure you. And the government wonder why piracy and the like is such a big issue.

Sometimes, though, there are blu-rays that you can only get in certain regions. 'Hellraiser 3,' my favorite in the series, is only available in other countries, and while I've heard of a Japanese version of it (which is Region A), I don't know if it comes in the English language, plus, it's a ridiculous price.
