There was an otter in a Zoo named after him last week, I wish I could find the link. I love otters, they are one of my favourite animals, the first time I saw these pics I couldn't believe I had never seen the resemblance!

He has otter ears! And nose. And ... well, these are so remarkably matching, I just can't stop chuckling. :)

I have always loved otters, too. They are dear animals.

They did this also to him on one of the Graham Norton shows. And if i recall correctly? I think they did the same to Martin Freeman in comparing him to a type of Hedgehog? It was very funny and all taken in good humour. :))

    Hedgehogs are adorable, too.

Allrighty, then! Here are some. I must say, Benedict and the otters have closer resemblance, but these are darn cute, too!

    I like this top one:

and I like this one, too:

And just 'cause I found this now, too:

A very young Benedict and young Martin:

And, of course, there's also the famous "Martin Freeman is made of jam, kittens and rage" but I think that one went out of fashion now. There used to be also an Amanda Abbington one called "Amanda Abbington is made of trolls, wit and perfection".

@4EverBonded I have something even better than that:

Now I do. Maybe my computer ...

    Ok, then! :)

The otters were better than the hedgehogs. That frowning hedgehog, the second from bottom, is very good. The last hedgehog is scary, I didn´t know hedgehogs have such big tongues.

On those kid fotos, the one bottom right, is that really Moffat delving into Doctor Who? That´s so amazing it could be fotoshopped!

The kid bottom right, I do not know who it is! It may be Moffat, yes. :)
    I recognize the others immediately.

That's definitely the Moff. I wouldn't be surprised if he was photographed reading the Holmes stories as well, somewhere. It's kind of cool that he grew up to be the lead writer of two of his favorite characters.

I just read this online (Wikipedia), and maybe you all caught it, but I didn't. For the closing credits of this last episode of the 3rd series:

In the closing credits, red letters in the crew members' names spell out MILVERTON.

Any one care to to check out this upcoming sale of Holmes items?
This notice is from the Sherlock Holmes Society of London's April newsletter:

Our member Guy Marshall is in the unenviable position of having to sell
his Sherlock Holmes collection, which includes at least 500 books, plus
booklets and pamphlets, lots of cassettes, CD and videos, and various
other memorabilia (he’s in the process of drawing up a catalogue).
Prospective purchasers can contact Guy at 7 College Street, St Albans
    AL3 4PW (phone 01727 865039 or e-mail [email protected]).

I read an interview with Martin a while back where this very special was brought up, and he spoke about how Moffat and Gatiss had this idea that everyone thought was gobsmackingly brilliant. I hope this story references that same basic idea that will become a special.

So what does this mean? At 2:21 PM tomorrow in the UK on BBC One there will be a five minute BBC Sherlock surprise? This interests me. It's likely Moriarty related; some video with him speaking.

I don't use Twitter, so I have no clue what all of that means, but that was copied onto the IMDB forums, so I'm thinking the '5m' is the timestamp of the tweet.
