I like the ending of Goldfinger..."this is no time to be rescued". The ending of You Only Live Twice is "cute". With Moneypenny relsihing going up to get Bond out of the raft with Kissy. BTW somewhat related, all of Sean's movies end on water except Goldfinger...just thought of that the other day...ok useless trivia over!

    My favorites:
OHMSS (most shocking ending ever, I can't forget the first time I saw it)
YOLT (the submarine emerging is funny and classic)
GE (I don't know why but I love it)
SF (an ending that's just a new begining, more even than CR)

Lamest: DAF, LTK (because of the winking fish), DAD

Bloody hell, I have never thought of that before... Though technically you could make the argument that TB ends with Bond in the sky. :P

Bond is near a lake or the sea I believe, some kind of water can be seen, when Goldfinger ends. Bond and water go hand in hand, nearly all the films end near, with or on water. Due to Bond's naval background perhaps?
  • and don't forget Never Say Never Again, ended with Bond near water, from a last viewing, or at least within splashing distance. So there really was something going on with Connery in his releases and ending scenarios with the water angle

But as Samuel says, a lot of the Bond movies end with 007 close to the waters edge. Sometimes you think the book on Flemings coffee table was really written by James Pond .. :-S

I think, as DN finish for obvious reasons in the sea (because they escape from the island), the next ones do it from snowball effect... The naval background is a little hidden until YOLT.
  • For me Casino Royale when Daniel Says Bond, James Bond

    Brilliant
