@FoxRox, that's the only reason I want them out: they've been consistently good over the last few years, it's about time the playoffs get shaken up with some new teams!

Darn Blackhawks. Came back that far just to choke.

Close game, every time I checked the score it was close. Managed to catch the last 90 seconds or so. Hard fought series, I'd be lying if I said I'm not highly anticipating the Blues facing off against the Stars.

Have to root against the Blues, seeing as they are the #1 rival for the Hawks. Don't like either team though myself. EDIT: Predicting a Pittsburgh-San Jose Final with a Penguins win.

That's understandable. Was mad to see that Anaheim couldn't finish it off and it's going to a Game 7 now, was hoping we'd get the second round sooner rather than later.

Oh yeah? Ducks fan? I like their odds too. I picked them to beat Nashville, and I still think they will in Game 7.

Actually the second round starts on Wednesday. But its a little refreshing to see Chicago out for parity reasons. I'm gonna pull hard for Dallas. Actually I'm gonna pull for anyone out of the west

@FoxRox, not necessarily, but the game was a toss up, so I'm pretty indifferent about who wins and loses that series.

@Last_Rat_Standing, I've been wondering about that for a while, so thank you. I had a feeling that we were going to have to wait for this final game to end before round two would begin.

Nah its funny that we will have Game 1 of the second round (TBL-NYI) then right after, Game 7 of the Anaheim-Nashville series. Today is the only night of no hockey.

I hate not having hockey to watch. Is it to be assumed that we'll have a proper slate of games from Thursday on for round two?

More than likely. Washington-Pittsburgh will more than likely start on Thurs

I do hope so; the sooner I have my Pens fix, the better.

My friend's a Penguins fan. Pittsburgh-Washington might be the best series of these playoffs; very much looking forward to it.

The last time the two paired off in the playoffs was something, so I hope we get some more insane plays and hockey magic this time around, as well. I'm looking forward to that and the Stars/Blues matchups the most.

Even with the Panthers out, I'm still gleeing over the fact that we still have a decent amount of southern teams in the playoffs, you know, to piss off those Canadians who hate the fact that the south has teams. Imagine a Tampa-Dallas final?

That'd be a good final. Bet the Canadians are none too happy about not having a single team in the playoffs this year.

Calling it now - Penguins win the Stanley Cup.

Promises made to yourself should be the easiest to keep, and yet they are the hardest.

I can see it happening, but I wouldn't overlook Tampa.

@FoxRox, the Caps and Pens are comparable in that they choke in the playoffs time and time again, but perhaps this is the year for the Pens, especially after beating the Caps last night, while missing their best defensemen.

This is so true. I guess there is not enough shame and embarrassment in breaking promises made to oneself.

Goodbye to the Washington Capitals! That game nearly gave me a heart attack.

    Penguins will win it all.

A man can dream. They're on fire right now, and after beating the Caps, I don't see them having much trouble acquiring the Cup, either.

Props to Pittsburgh. Last night could have gone either way especially after Washington tied it. Not by any means am I discrediting Pittsburgh but I wouldn't overlook Tampa though. Washington has always been a "paper champion." With Tampa, you never know what you're going to get with them. I'm intrigued to see how the West plays out tonight.

That Tampa/Pittsburgh game is going to be a very fast one, that's for sure. I'm hoping the west ends up being the Stars vs. Sharks.

I want Stars-Preds. For the sole purpose of sending NBC into a tailspin with an all southern market cup final, providing Tampa wins. If not, the best for ratings would be Pens-Blues.

@Last_Rat_Standing, that would be a good one, as well. I continue to count the Preds out, and I don't know why, I suppose I didn't follow them as much as I should've so I don't see them being as great as they probably are. It'll really be something if they beat the Sharks in Game 7 tomorrow.
