Now Now @ Willy I have always had a soft spot for Weston On The Mud!
  • I lived there for 7 years. It's an utter s***hole! It's where all the heroin addicts are sent for rehab!

You just read my mind about John Cleese. These are his thoughts on Weston ;-)

And "the A370" really did make me laugh out loud @Mrcoggins
  • Whereabouts Bristol based are you anyway @Mrcoggins? I currently live in Middlesbrough (and let me tell you that Weston is bloody Monte Carlo by comparison) but I was born and raised in Yate for most of my life.

Yate is (or at least was) class! ;-)

Mind you get this, my old school, King Edmunds, was knocked down and rebuilt this year as "The Ridings Federation Yate International Acadamy". I mean, what?! Have you heard anything so stupid in all your days?

Newcastle Comic Con is a new event for this city.

On Sat 8th & Sun 9th March 2014 I got to meet both Julian Glover & John Rhys Davies who were attending to give talks and sign autographs. Brilliant event and can recommend to anyone.

Julian Glover kindly allowed photographs and was very easy to talk to.

John Rhys Davies on Sunday gave an hours Q&A session and I asked him out of all the Indiana Jones & LODR questions from the audience about his Bond experience.
He replied "Working on the Bond film and also being able to work with Cubby Brocoli & the usual crew was simply an opportunity not to be passed down". He said it was like working with family relations that everyone involved looked after one another with great pride.

He also said when I asked about working with Timothy Dalton & Joe Don Baker that they were two brilliant actors and especially Timmy he said being a fellow Welshman nailed the role and was a great Bond at that time and still is highly regarded. He recalled working with Joe Don as a fun time especially in Tangier & during there free time he remembered visiting various sites and learning about Morocco & its culture was a memorable experience.

Back in Nov 2011 at Pinewood studios I got to meet John Wyman & Jack Klaff both from FYEO. so having met Julian Glover. I now have all three villains from that movie.

My list of Bond stars met in person with full autographs and a photo with

2004 - Shirley Eaton - 40th Anniversary screening of Goldfinger at Edinburgh Dominion Theatre

2011 - Shane Rimmer with photo, Britt Ekland with photo, John Wyman & Jack Klaff at Pinewood studios November event. celebrating 30 years of For Your Eyes Only.

2014 - Julian Glover with photo & John Rhys Davies with photo at Newcastle Comic Con & non Bond stars met on same day include Sylvester McCoy with photo & Karl Weathers.

Stars I really would love to meet include Joe Don Baker, John Glen, Anthony Zerbe, Gottfried John, Robert Davi, Louis Jourdan & Michael Londsdale.

I'm not sure if any of the mentioned attend conventions? or have they?

Attended the Memorabilia show today in Birmingham. Met Tom So who played "Mr Fukutu" in Casino Royale. A really nice guy who took the time to talk to me. Told me without a doubt that CR was the best acting job he has ever had.

Told me about how they were given money whilst out in Prague between filming to do what they wanted with. I asked him if he was in the card school? He laughed and managed to get to the last 4! Brilliant bloke so do meet him if you ever have the opportunity to do so!

Awesome story, thanks for sharing! Sounds like a terrific guy. I've always been a fan of actors who do events like these and are just as eager to speak with fans as we are with them.

Well sad news as Colin Salmon has had to cancel from the Collectormania next month. Assuming work has come up for him. Hopefully he will attend a future event soon!

Has anyone heard of the KiMO theatre in Albuquerque, New Mexico? I was messing around on the Internet last night and wanted to see if Pierce Brosnan was doing any meet-and-greets, and apparently, he's scheduled to do a live interview type thing there on June 6th, 2014. I can't find anything on the KiMO site, but I see tickets for sale from different retailers. Anyone know anything about this?

Wow. That Monster Mania Con is absolutely chock full of people I'd love to meet. But, I move in to my apartment on the 16th, so I won't get to make it, and NJ is quite a drive. I'll be at the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention, though, one of those days, I'm sure! Would love to make the 3.5 hour drive in December to meet the beautiful Jane Seymour, as well.

From my house to the Monster Mania Con, it says it's only a 3.5 hour drive, which isn't bad. If I wasn't packing and moving in that weekend, I'd go in a heartbeat. There are too many awesome people attending to name. I'd be in heaven.
