I use to have the James Bond 007 Collection VHS tapes of FRWL, GF, GE, and TND. I went to go find them the other day and it turnes out my mom sold them :((

With half of those it could well be a relief if anything else

    Count your blessings I say

the 80's ones are the silver 25th Anniversary and go from DN to AVTAK

Thanks for that Gaz, I'm collecting most of the variations from the 80's big box onwards inc the silver 25th ones. What do the blue covers go up to. Did you know that the white cover ones that were digitally remastered have 2 variations, they were also issued in wide screen but were called Special Collectors editions as opposed Digitally remastered editions. There is also a set that has a small bond picture on the spine, (preceding the collage panorama spines) that were issued in 2 formats as well.
Lots of shelf space needed if any of you are collecting them all.
I'm looking for missing video's, does anyone have any rarer ones for sale or swap.
I have duplicates of earlier ones.
  • I do. I own all of the Warner Pre Certs from the U.K., the 007 Widescreen Collection Box set also from the U.K., The U.S. CBS/Fox set, the MGM/UA sets from 1995/99-00 (Including the original 1995 releases of The Man With The Golden and Octopussy which the latter's 95' cover was vastly superior), and the Roadshow Video beta copy of Never Say Never Again, which is extremely rare.

Hi JB1988, when you say a beta copy, do you mean the old betamax tapes.
Do you have any of the VHS white digitally remastered tapes and the white wide screen ones too. I alsoo need a few to complete the silver 25th set. What do you have for sale.
    Best regards John.

Has anyone ever find this really rare VHS version of Thunderball where instead of Connery being in the middle of the cover, it looks like a cartoon of him in the bottom and he's really dark?

    Hi John,

Yes, The old Betamax tape. Plus, it's from Australia, and I just got that recently. To answer your questions, I unfortunately do not have any for sale nor do I have the 25th anniversary VHSes. What I mentioned is what I have. Right Now, I'm trying to track down the 1996 "James Bond 007 Collection" VHS release of Goldfinger that came out in Australia, either single or as part of The Sean Connery VHS Box Set, Vol. 1. That's the only one I needed to get for my collection

Can anyone confirm that OHMSS, TLD and LTK were released in the 1992/93 "Movie Poster" series?

My memory is that the Sean Connery movies were released in 1992 and the others in 1993.

However the inside of my TMWTGG video sleeve only shows the Connery and Moore releases.

These are the original UK issues of the series that I bought when they were first released back in the 80's. This was pre "sell-thru" when tapes were released purely for the rental market. Luckily, the husband of a lady who worked for the same company as me owned a video store and ordered a copy of each title for me as and when they were released. To begin with they cost £35-£40 a time but by the time of LTK the prices were around the £60-£70 mark.

That's a great collection of the 'big boxes'. Did you get the Brosnan releases as well?

I owned that collection, as I mentioned in my post. Currently, I'm getting three Big-boxes of some of the titles from Austrailia.

Was Casino Royale '67 ever released with that set?

No, Samuel. Guess Warner Home Video didn't own the rights. Doubt very much if they'd want 'em!
By the time the Brosnan's were released, Chevron, I had moved onto Laserdisc. Not sure how many of his titles appeared in big boxes.
  • Question, I need help. How do I correctly post an image on this forum? I'm trying to do it correctly, but All I see is a tiny clear box. Thanks!

Right click and select 'Properties' on the image. Copy and paste the URL of the image into the 'Post Comment' box and surrond that in the 'Image' tag by clicking on the icon in between the 'Code' and 'URL' buttons.

It should - hopefully - work for you now.

I'm looking for The James Bond 007 Collection (1996) release of Goldfinger that either came out single or as part of the Sean Connery Vol. 1 VHS Set in Australia, if anyone of you has that particular copy, let me know. Thanks!

    It worked @JamesBond1988! Excellent.

I'll keep an eye out for that Goldfinger VHS for you.
  • Thanks! I bought all other Australian copies of The James Bond 007 Collection on Ebay Australia, but this is the only one I really needed, like I said, in either the box set or as a single VHS. If I did get it, I'll take pictures of it and post it on here and my Facebook.

This series of VHS go up to Licence To Kill, correct?
  • Correct. Because that the only time that set was released before the "Special Edition" VHS set (Featuring 19 films at the time) came out in 2000.

I thought so. There was also a collection with the first 18 films that came out around the late 90's.

I wonder if the new Blu-ray Collection will match up in some way?
  • I heard the new Blu-ray Box set will have ALL 22 films in it, making it released in the corlogical order for the first time
  • and it won't come out until later this year

Casino Royale (1967) at the time was owned by Columbia Pictures, and was released by RCA/Columbia Home Video (or its Australian division, RCA/Columbia/Hoyts Video) and was the only distributor until MGM bought out the James Bond name and rights to both CR (53' and 67') and Never Say Never Again due to the settlement between Sony and MGM.
  • Gave all my VHS tapes to my brother after getting all the Ultimate DVD's. All the Connery's and LALD were the old black CBS/FOX versions. The rest were the more colorful MGM covers with trailers for the next film in the series and a Pink Panther cartoon.
