That's quite a good article! Really in-depth, nice to see all the history surrounding QoS on one page! Makes me really wonder about some of the early drafts. Especially the one by Purvis and Wade that was tossed out

Do you mean 'in-depth' or 'inept'?

That review needs to be be heavily edited. It is all over the place. Its points need to be made stronger and it needs to be shorter.

“I felt at the end of CASINO ROYALE, Bond was in a very vulnerable state and it was the perfect opportunity to lead the character into new territory” Forster.

Really? And I felt Bond was back.

We both know QoS needed to be LONGER and not shorter @OHMSS69. It's already the shortest of the franchise. You want an even smaller film then do you?? :O

IMHO, the length of the film wasn't entirely Forster's fault. In watching it, I feel that, often, he cuts out of scenes a bit too early, leaving the viewer to deduce a lot. The exceptions (for me) are the Bond/Mathis scenes, which probably benefited from Haggis' special care because he was involved in writing their friendship in CR.

I wonder how much of the shortness/choppiness was because of the writers' strike and Forster/Craig scrambling to make the best of a chaotic script situations.

Was watching a bit of QoS last night and agree the editing is often way to quick. Often you cannot tell what's going on. The scene where Quantum's agent helps Green escape is utterly confusing. What happens to M in that scene? One moment she's there and the next she has just disappeared.

It's a shame actually as it's not a bad movie overall. I think another 5 to 10 mins in the running time and some longer scenes and it would have worked much better. Choppy hand-held camera work also slightly dizzying in some of the action sequences.
