After Matt Damon passed on Bourne 4 they just picked a different agent to tell a new story with but set in the same agency.do you think they would ever consider doing another series of films but with a differernt 00 agent....
Whole different ground to cover...possibility's would be grand.

It's entirely possible. They did toy with a 'Jinx' spin-off. However, this would be a sign of a desperate and declining franchise - an indication that the whole show was close to ending. Let's hope it never happens. I think we can probably assume the new 'Bourne-free' Bourne signals the impending death of that franchise. Personally I thought the original 3 Bourne films were brilliant and it's a shame they're going to ruin that legacy with a pointless spin-off.

Won't happen. True, they had plans to branch out into a Jinx franchise. But the current Eon is completely immersed into Bond, they can't keep a second set of juggler's balls in the air. Only way would be if MGM/SONY took over the whole show. Don't see that happen this side of the end of days.

Why on earth would anyone want this? We have James Bond! 50 years of a successful track record with a future to continue! Everyone would say its another Bond copycat!

You would get a James Bond film with someone called John Doe! Why didnt they invest the money spent on 007? I will pick and stay with Bond everytime. We all know that "NOBODY DOES IT BETTER!!!!" ;)

It will never happen at least not in my life time.
  • It would be nice to see adventure of another 00 agent in film but spin off isn't a good idea.
007 deserve to be unique :)

There's no need for a Bond spinoff. Even though I have pondered the idea of either a film or TV series called "Lawman on the Bayou: The Adventures of Sheriff J.W. Pepper." B-)

Who needs a spin off when they got Bond, James Bond???
  • The better way would be for prehaps one film only, for a change of direction with another oo working along side Bond perhaps or a major world crisis involving more oo's, obviously Bond would still be the focal point & would of course save the day.

I'd rather have another James Bond film than a spin-off. The Jinx idea should have told us something about whether it is a good idea or not.

I don't think they'd face the same predicament. Craig isn't completely tied with Bond like Damon with Bourne. Bond has changed, what, 5 times? They will never have to move away from 007, they've set it up brilliantly.

Indeed, but perhaps imagine them taking this path when Connery left. For instance, what if they had loosely adapted the remainder of the Fleming novels with a different actor or actor(s) playing different 00's. OHMSS staring 003. Moonraker featuring 008. Etc. Had this worked, they could've downplayed the importance of being Bond, and played up the importance of being a 00.

hope it doesnt happen. But they could do it, and even have a cameo from a previous Bond to set it in the right direction...... but not happy with this idea.
