I’ve been drinking quite a lot of Valpolicella and Barolo in the last couple of weeks. The only joy left in quarantine... but only in the week end. XD

I was gonna comment you missed your coaster, @Agent_99, if I remembered things right. But I won't.

This is a new promotion I just saw, Blackwell Rum, available in October it reports.

    Your secret mission? Steal
    James Bond’s style
    By Carrie Seim | March 19, 2020 | 8:50am

The release of No Time To Die, the 25th James Bond flick, has been bumped to November — which means you have exactly eight months to secure your official 007 gear. Go undercover in the famous secret agent’s Tom Ford suit and Crockett & Jones derby shoes, check your Omega Seamaster for the drop time, pack a chic Globe-Trotter carry-on and speed off in one of the four Aston Martins shown in the film. After hours, it’s time to slip into Orlebar Brown’s new spring line of suave, Bond-themed resortwear, inspired by franchise classics like Dr. No and Thunderball. You can even stay in author Ian Fleming’s villa at the GoldenEye resort in Jamaica, sipping a cocktail made with official “007” Blackwell rum. Shaken, naturally — not stirred.

That looks worth seeking out! Just looked it up and I see it's the creation of Chris Blackwell, which makes sense.

Continuing to promote this item with NO TIME TO DIE. I found an isolated copy of the interesting "25" design below.

Just about! Godfathers are the order of the day at the moment, old fashioneds before that.

    I do not.

But I do drink to make others feel comfortable. So once this social distancing thing wears off I should support the local community somehow.

Every night. Just straight Smirnoff Vodka, nothing fancy for me.

I usually don't watch any Bond movies when I drink, worried it will colour my opinion of the film differently.

I do weekends on back porch with a bottle of Dewars Scotch and a cigar. Right now it's a cigar and a can of Budweiser from the dollar store

Not usually, because I'm often out in the evenings and have to drive somewhere. But during lockdown it's been pretty much every day. An opportunity to finish up all those weird back-of-the-cupboard bottles from holidays.

Sounds interesting. I've only ever come across Maple as well as Vanilla Crown Royal.

Made a few batches of Demerara syrup, and bought Jim Beam so it'll be Old Fashioneds for me for awhile. Been dragging my feet on buying Vesper ingredients but might have to do that soon.

I need Pineapple Jalapeno in my life! Wonder if there's a UK supplier.

    Try a Goldeneye Cocktail
    https://jamaicainn.com/blog/try-goldeneye-cocktail/
    June 22, 2015 | Jamaica Inn | 1 Comment

Our fun cocktail recommendation this month is a fabulous “Goldeneye.” It is a very simple but delicious drink and not-to-be-missed when you are here with us. Ask any of our bartenders to whip one up for you!
    The-Goldeneye.jpg

    History about the Goldeneye
Many of you will of course relate the name Goldeneye to James Bond. Goldeneye is actually the original name of the former home of Novelist Ian Fleming, who as you know, wrote all the James Bond books. Two movies, namely Dr. No and Live and Let Die, were filmed near to his estate.

Ian Fleming used to come here to hang out with Noel Coward and Winston Churchill and have drinks. It was written in Goldeneye that the concept of the Vesper Martini (shaken, not stirred) was created here at Jamaica Inn and it was Winston Churchill that taught Ian Fleming about it right here at our bar!

So in an ode to history created and the book, we salute Goldeneye with the drink that was created using Blackwell rum!

    Directions
    • Start with a lowball glass and ice
    • Pour one ounce of Blackwell Rum over the ice
    • Add in four ounces of Pineapple juice
    • A squeeze of lime
    • Top the drink with another ounce of Blackwell Rum
    • Use an orange wedge for a garnish
