Broz had a bit of grey on the sides/roots in DAD. Both he and Craig look distinguished.

13 years has past so a touch of grey is very suitable. Daniel’s hair was colored to one degree or another in all of the films .

What stands out to me in the photos that you posted is how much a good tan , whether real or done with makeup, enhances his appearance.

I agree completely with both of you.

I believe every Bond actor except maybe Lazenby had his hair dyed. Roger, Tim, Pierce and Daniel definitely, I'm not 100% sure about Sean.

I did something incredible to my hair lately. It was all long and fluffy. Now it is short and trendy. Incredible, right?

Craig's hair looks perfect in the recent vids, but personally I prefer a bit more length in the sideburns, cut in line with the middle of the ear, but definitely no lower.

Interested to know how the Bond ladies' hair will look.
Lashana looks much better with long, frizzy hair, but a stylish pixie cut can be flattering too. I think Ana's hair will look the same as we see it now.

Craig's hair looks fine. No more Tintin look thankfully. And about the whites, better white than blonde, IMO. And look at RDJ as Tony Stark in Endgame, he had many, many whites, beard and all. Heck, I have many now on the sides, and I'm Craig's age when he started it.

Talking about hair, let's talk chins too. Has no one ever noticed Craig had chin augmentation done? His chin looked quite weak before and at some time in the past years it got magically much more pronounced.

Well, people's facial structure changes throughout the years. Having analysed that chin with a clinical eye, I must say I don't believe he has had work done. Actually, I don't think Craig has done any kind of plastic work. Cause, let's face it, if he did, he'd started with the ears, then the nose, then... Just kidding. His face is fine as it is. He always reminds me of Jeremy Renner, or vice versa. Like he was his older brother :)

The longer hair doesn't suit Craig as Bond. It accentuates the blondness of him - nothing wrong with blonde hair, but when his hair is shorter, more attention is focused on his face and steely eyes.

Yeah, longer hair does tend to soften the face. You're probably right about Craig with longer hair. I wouldn't mind it - if this is his last Bond film you could go with a different hairstyle - but it might not enhance his Bond look. The producers made the right call going with a short-ish hairstyle. It suits his version of Bond. His hair in the above post looks good. Short at the sides but a tad longer on the top.

What a transformation from Knives out to this. Good job, Mr. Craig. The hair is perfect, btw.

  • Interesting, Daniel Craig’s hair hasn’t proven a controversial subject with NTTD. Usually, there is endless debate whether his hair is ‘Bond-ian’ enough.

Personally, I think this may be his most ‘Bond’ look – coupled with SP. It feels as though it took them three films to get it right. In CR, it was either too spiky or flat (especially compared to his more chic look in Layer Cake!). QOS was good but SF was a tad too short (though I far from hate it – he looked mean).

We haven’t seen much from NTTD yet. Though his hair looks good.

These recent photos of Craig show his style is still impeccable! I love this suit as well. I wonder if a similar style will appear in NTTD…………………………………..

Personally, I've always felt that Craig's hair in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace was not right for Bond.

You get a sense they didn't quite know where to go with it.

My understanding is that they made Craig's hair in Skyfall short to age him. I personally preferred it in SF then his previous films, but they still didn't nail it. It does look awkward when they give him a part in the Macau scenes because of it's length. In SP they seemed to have found a sweet spot in terms of Craig's hair because they grew it out a bit.

I've always wished that Craig's hair throughout his tenure was more like that in his interviews for Skyfall. It's parted and more in keeping with a Connery or Lazenby haircut.

    maxresdefault.jpg

Ironically, I used to have parted long hair such as the images above and decided to go short a while back. The image I gave to my barber was this one of Daniel Craig at the press conference when Skyfall was released.

    15fcbc60b6aab5911b30c3fda4d2f075.jpg

I've never had a different haircut since. Now I've got to have a haircut every 10 days to maintain the look! In a way the lack of part in Craig's hair is fitting for his rough and tumble Bond. He doesn't have time to wake up and use a blow-dryer and wax like Brosnan.

Craig's hair in these images is the best of his tenure. It's the perfect length and they've got it styled correctly with a more natural parting.

In terms of the double breasted suit with the single button, while it's definitely edgy and unlike anything we've seen Craig or Bond wear before, I'm happy they're keeping the suiting classic.

In the trailer we see him wearing a light grey Prince of Wales check when he gets out of the Vantage and then later a navy Price of Wales check when running into Madeleine in the hallway before seeing Blofeld. This navy suit looks similar if not the same to that from the opening of SP.

These are both Tom Ford O'Connor suits which was the model of suit introduced in Skyfall and continued in Spectre. I also love the fact that it looks as though they are bringing back the tab collar from SF for at least one of the outfits. That was a brilliant sartorial detail of that film.

Craig's influence in the overall look of Bond in NTTD is evident in the trailer. It would appear his personal style is bleeding into Bond. I love the Massimo Alba corduroy suit he wears in the Matera scenes. This is certainly shaping up to be one of the most stylish Bond films from a fashion perspective, IMO.

I agree that Quantum of Solace is a seriously stylish film with regards to Bond's fashion. Bond in beige khaki's and a navy polo with Churchs Ryder desert boots is a favourite of mine. However, I find that the 'Regency' cut Tom Ford suits haven't aged as well as those in Skyfall or Spectre and the collar of his shirts and the ties are mismatched in terms of size.

I think CR beats QoS. I love Craig's casual outfit in Madagascar and Nassau, his Sunspel top and flared jeans, the 3 piece suit at the end, the cardigan in Venice.

CR is the most stylish film since TB, with lots of nods to Connery's casual outfits from TB, even down to the swimming trunks.

I agree with this....there's a certain sentiment that Craig's hair was best in CR and in some scenes it was good. For instance, here:

    I-23-2t-1024x425.jpg

But when he's in the tuxedo, it's a little wrong. It's kinda formless and not styled in a particularly gentlemanly fashion. It just looks a little rough and lifeless. Even at times looking a little scruffy. They didn't really figure out what to with DC's hair till SP.

That's the thing I dislike about his CR hair - it's inconsistency. I prefer his SP hair, it has a good length at the back too.

    SP/NTTD

    QOS
    CR
    SF
  • I'm feeling weirdly obsessive over DC's look during the casino scenes in CR. I've spend the last few days Googling clips and screencaps, comparing scenes and feel his hair fluctuates massively. Sometimes, it looks great, other times flat or messy. Its sooooo odd. Partially, I think Martin Campbell and his DP are to blame for picking unflattering angels. But DC's hair looks a little fried, especially in comparison with Layer Cake where it looked more natural.

for this reason, I know it's a weird request.....But, could each of us post our favourite photo or look of DC from the casino scenes in CR. I still feel very strongly that they should have parted his hair!!!

Well the Bond in CR is not the sophisticated, polished, refined agent that he would eventually become.

Also in different situations, within the same movie, his hair is going to look different; his look for being under cover in Madagascar is going to be different than when he's wearing a tux and entering an opulent casino. So some of the inconsistency of his hair is situational and the fact that he is still refining his look

I actually prefer Daniels hair when it not too "perfect" I don't find the ultra-refined, hard part, slicked look over very complimentary on him.

It looks like they've nailed it in NTTD; it's a great cut and looks good casual/tousled or refined.

At this point my rankings would be,

    NTTD/CR

    SP
    QoS
    SF

I do agree with this. For much of CR, his hair is (as you best describe) situational. It's all very dependent on the context of the sequence. However, there are moments, where it really should be elegant, but it's not. Perhaps it's the age of the film showing through. You could argue it's very '2006' and of action stars of that era - folk like Tom Cruise or Colin Farrell.

    For example here:

However, during the below scene it's perfect....If only they kept this style for the poker scenes themselves. Once again, this is nitpicking and I accept people have different perspectives.

I'm finding Craig's SP and NTTD haircuts a bit more timeless. His spiky CR hairstyle seems a bit dated to me now. I'd also say in a few years his SF haircut may seem a little dated.
I don't think Bond should ever look too hip or trendy. He should always be cool and bad ass, though.
Connery, Lazenby and the early Moore's haircuts have the most timeless quality, IMO. Not too long, not too short. Can fit within almost any decade.
As faithful as Tim was to Fleming, the length of his hair keeps me from completely envisioning him when I read Fleming's novels. Same with Pierce to an extent.
I real believe Bond's haircut in the books would be closer to how Fleming wore his himself.
The LALD novel haircut I would think might look closer to Barry Nelson's, than say Craig's in SF.

While my full time career is as a Firefighter, but my second career is that of a Barber/hair stylist; I've done that for 34 years.

The one scene in CR that has always bugged me is when Bond and Mathis are on the hotel balcony, as Vesper is sleeping inside. The stylist who was cutting Daniel's hair must have not checked their notes and/or grabbed the wrong clipper guard for the sides and back; his hair is noticeably shorter than in the rest of the Montenegro sequence.

    Here's a question for you, @talos7.
if you were to give a Roger Moore in LALD haircut, would you taper or block the nape?
During the scene in his flat it looks tapered to me, especially the shot of the back of his head as he serves M's coffee. In other scenes it may have been trimmed differently.

Well as with CR, if you watch any movie it's fairly easy to spot fluctuation, or inconsistencies in hairstyles. Although the film may take place over a period of days or even hours, frequently, a movie is shot over a period of months; this is one of the reasons why, in order to maintain continuity, wigs and hairpieces are frequently used

As far as Roger's hair, It really did look best in LALD and MWTGG when it was on the shorter side. you're absolutely right that it does vary; at times it is tapered, at times more squared off.

One of the things that has to be considered when trying to duplicate a cut that you've seen on someone else is, do you have the same type of hair? Is it the same texture, density and one of the biggest considerations, one that cannot be changed, is growth direction, the direction that the hair grows out of the scalp. This is as individual as a fingerprint. Specifically with the nape, this can be very challenging. I've seen many necklines that grows straight up, straight down, one side up, one side down, and any other combination.

Thanks, @talos7. Seems in CR Craig's nape also fluctuates between tapered and squared. Definitely squared in QoS throughout. My hair is far more Craig in color, but extremely straight. Straight enough that the sides poof out and I can get a Brosnan TWINE look going without it being as long.
I knew an old school barber who had opened his shop in 1946 and remained in business until about a decade ago. I'd go in with photos of Sean, Roger, Pierce, or other actors like Bogart, Robert Mitchum, Clark Gable, etc. Although I might not have had the same hair type or texture he could get the shape right every time.
He also kept the same old school prices. He kept it at $3 a haircut until around 2001 before he retired. I must have shown him the same picture of Roger 100 times. LOL

This guy cut hair pretty fast. Most of his clients were around his age. It was almost like going back in time whenever I stepped into that barber shop.
