@Dragonpol, that just makes him even better in my eyes, something I didn't find possible. He really is one of the greatest artists of all time.
Agreed and he lives up to the hype, something that you can't say of very many other music artists.
Absolutely. I never get tired of his music.
Me neither. There is always something refreshing and new to be found in his music.
That's exactly what I love about it, and each song seems to bring something different or unique to the table: dance hits, songs with excellent guitar solos, slower, more emotional songs, highly-praised classics, etc.
Indeed, and his vocal range is truly staggering - there's no other singer like him! MJ was a fully rounded musical artist.
Agreed. Been a fan of MJ's since I can remember. I have good memories of seeing him in concert in 1996. :)>-

Yes, that surprised me too, but the evidence is there to be seen, if you look it out.
That is just epic. I remember that thread. Pity people had to wander off-topic with that one.

You lucky thing, @QBranch! Where did you see MJ live, pray tell?

And agreed that was probably my most offbeat and esoteric thread ever!

The History concert in Brisbane. I hadn't been there for years, so it was a great way to return to my birthplace. I remember every minute of it. We were right up the back, but there were two massive screens on the stage that magnified everything. A bought a shirt and collector's book there. Good times indeed.

Yes, sounds like it was a great time, sadly never to be repeated as of 25 June 2009, The Day The Music Died.

I agree with so many of the choices here. I'm not going to repeat any but add some tracks by artists I think have been over looked (and I apologise profusely if they haven't been).

What Kind Of Fool Am I? - Sammy Davis Jnr
Birth of the Blues - Sammy Davis Jnr
My Heart Stood Still - the Mamas & the Papas
    Conversations - Michael Nesmith
The Crippled Lion - Michael Nesmith
Let's Get Married - The Proclaimers
Me And Bobby McGee - Janice Joplin
Hide In Your Shell - Supertramp
    Lately - Stevie Wonder

I know it wouldn't really fit into the 'greatest songs of all time,' and I'm not sure if anyone is a fan of jazz like I am, but one of the greatest jazz songs I've ever heard is 'Blue Train' by John Coltrane. It's just perfection to the ears.

@Sammm04, another Fleetwood Mac fan! They have so many great songs. 'Self Control' is great, I love Branigan. My favorite song of hers is 'Gloria.' She has such a voice. I have to say, from GTA III on, the series introduced me to so many great tunes.

Yeah, it's great how games can influence people in that way, if I hadn't played GTA Vice City, I probably wouldn't have made much of that song, as I know I've heard outside that game before, like Fallout 3 and New Vegas, which has introduced me to many older generation songs I didn't know before.

@Sammm04, 'GTA III' has a great soundtrack full of songs that you may not have heard in terms of 80's music. There's even a radio station completely ripped from the 'Scarface' soundtrack.

    @Creasy47, Flashback FM. #Memories

San Andreas has my favourite soundtrack of any game ever. Even the country and techno stations had absolutely killer songs on it. I've heard every song, on every station, in San Andreas hundreds of times, and there isn't a single song I even remotely dislike.

@StirredNotShaken, you've got it! My favorite soundtrack is 'Vice City' because I'm a huge fan of 80's music and I loved everything on there, but you're right, 'San Andreas' just really didn't have bad songs, and I never had to change the station when I got in the car because every tune that came on, I liked listening to it. 'GTA IV' also had really good stations and songs, and the DLC added even better music, but 'GTA V'? Not a fan. I didn't care for the stations/songs that much.

I'm with you on Vice City. Loved the soundtrack. I remember I'd be driving around, about to start a mission when either Kim Wilde or Bryan Adams would come on the radio so I'd continue driving till the song finished :-)

@WillyGalore, I've been in that scenario many a time! Almost get to a mission I wanted to start and 'Billie Jean' or 'Plush' would come on the radio, and I'd park and wait.

-"As Time Goes By"- Written by Herman Hupfeld and immortalized forever in Casablanca

-Anything Phil Collins, especially the likes of "You'll Be In My Heart", "True Colors" and "You Can't Hurry Love"

-Anything sung by Frank Sinatra, my favorite entertainer. Writers and composers like Cole Porter really helped make him a classic musical icon. Some of my favorites include "The Way You Look Tonight", "I've Got You Under My Skin", "Come Fly With Me", "My Way", "The Best is Yet to Come," and "As Time Goes By." The list is honestly endless.

-"You've Got a Friend in Me", written and sang by the undisputed king of the friendship song, Mr. Randy Newman.

-"I Want to Break Free", "Somebody to Love" and "Radio Ga Ga" by Queen

-"American Pie" by Don McLean, a veritable musical masterpiece from start to finish.

-"If I Can Dream", "Can't Help Falling in Love", and "Burning Love" performed by Elvis

-"Piano Man", "Goodnight Saigon", "Miami 2017" and "We Didn't Start the Fire" from Billy Joel.

-"Georgia on My Mind", most associated with Ray Charles

-"Candle in the Wind" by Elton John

-"Yesterday", "Hey Jude" and "In My Life" by The Beatles

    -"Imagine" by John Lennon

    -"Something" written by George Harrison

-"Gimme Shelter" by The Rolling Stones

-"House of the Rising Sun" by The Animals, which features some of the best vocals ever in a song

I could go on, and on, and on. I am not a very objective person, especially when it comes to music, but these are the songs that are my drugs, and I can't live without hearing them on a regular basis.
