Everyone is making some plots about What is the past that will reveal M's real face. But this topic is, to tell about, WHAT could be those things? A failed mission (the most possible)? A casualty she made IN a mission? Any relationship with an agent from MI-6?
What could it be? I vote at the 'failed mission'.

I've seen this type of thread countless times over now. Like I've said and it seems confirmed, it is either an old mission back to haunt M or the mission Bond is assigned in the film.
