  • Ah the Robin rumour - the crewman said that Robin was being introduced in the film.

Of course, that makes perfect sense in a film like this, there is going to fighting, shooting and robin, loads of robin and looting.

Robin has no place in this film or any other film. Especially here. Bale's Batman needs no sidekick.

It's not happening. End of. Maybe the next film should be Batman 5 and pick up where Batman & Robin left off. ;-)

The Batman films will already have lost me by then, so I needn't worry. No one will better Nolan's work. Let's just hope TDKR pulls through. I'm still on shaky ground with the film as of yet.

you know what - i just give up on some people. Really? Do we take ourselves so seriously on these boards not to have a little joke once in a while? This superzero footage/news even made it on Newsnight on BBC2 in the UK just after I posted it here.

A bit of light relief - nah - you don't get it. Enjoy your forum.

When it comes to TDKR, a film I waver on more than on the topic of what my favorite Bond film is, I never like joking around. I care about this franchise too much and don't like to see quips and joke footage being spooled around when I am already worried for the film. Yes, I know their is no Robin in TDKR, but the kids play can stop, unless someone makes a thread for video spamming. That video will be a welcome post.

By the way @forgotmyusername, I mean no disrespect. I just take things like Batman too seriously. Schumacher has been on my hit list since I first saw those garbage films of his and I never someone helming Batman as a property without thorough examination. Nolan has passed so far, but TDKR worries me. I feel like going down the Bane road we lose that sense of 'wow this could happen' that we had in TDK.

Will Ra Al (Liam Neeson) reprise his role?
Will that hot french chick from Inception be his daughter?
Will Cat Woman be friend or foe?
Looking forward to seeing Bane...but tell me:
Will they ever bring back the Ridler? He was my favorite villian.

The film is shrouded in secrecy, though it is known that Josh Pence (THE SOCIAL NETWORK) will play a young Ra's al Ghul in a flashback.
Will that hot french chick from Inception be his daughter?
Again with the secrecy. The popular theory says yes, but Marion Cotillard denies it.
Will Cat Woman be friend or foe?
    There is no word. Secrecy.
Looking forward to seeing Bane...but tell me:

Not in the Nolan films. THE DARK KINGHT RISES will be Nolan's last Bat-film, so he won't be shooting the Riddler. Maybe someone will in the future, but that's for someone else.

At first I liked that video but then we get to see everyone's acting; it went down hill from there. I do hope the next Batman movies use the grey outfit instead of all black.

While we're sharing videos, here's a cool one I found...

  • the acting wasn't too bad - i'd give these guys money to make a dark batman tv series.

They've come close to a real batman and close the original material. I like.

The predators looked a bit too small but I like the mix of genres and story lines.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES may take advantage of the Occupy Sesame Street postests in New York:

It's unlikely to be a change in the story, but rather B-roll footage taking advantage of the protests because they fit certain scenes in the script.

So will you keep watching Bond films when Craig will leave the role ?

That's a bit different, no? Nolan is doing three films in his own separate series, Bond is still going strong after 22, all the time inconsistencies aside.

=Sigh= Nolan ISN'T LEAVING!!!! He is stepping down from the directors chair, he will remain as producer, and he will probably hand pick his secsessor.

Yes but his story is finished. In his own words: "[This film will be] the ending of a story rather than infinitely blowing up the balloon and expanding the story"

I'm pretty sure the producing side for the next batch is gonna be like he's godfathering the Zack Snyder Superman, ie. getting the right people and then letting them do their thing.

Oh, and also: 8 minute IMAX prologue attached to MI4:Ghost Protocol http://www.slashfilm.com/rumor-8-minute-dark-knight-rises-prologue-attached-mission-impossible-ghost-protocol-imax/ :D :D :D

How do you connect those two?? They are two separate properties. No I will not quit watching Bond after Craig leaves, but I'd be lying if I said I won't be sad when the time comes. With Batman I will be fed up because the future reboot, like the Superman reboot is partly all for setting up the Justice League, and that angers me. Nolan's creative magic will be missed from the films, and they are worse off for it.

Indeed, it will be like Burton's role in Batman Forever which amounted to nothing. And who knows how long Nolan will want to be a part of the next film for. It could take a good while to get going. This news was sparked in conjunction with the planned Justice League film. Something that was on for 2013 but with Man Of Steel being pushed back and Green Lantern bombing, plus this film's trouble itself I doubt anything is very much set in stone at the moment and is more wishful thinking.

I'm looking forward to the 8 minute preview!

I heard recently that the next batman-franchise after this one will not come about before 2017. Which -- a huge batfan that I am -- I am perfectly fine with. Wait until you get a good idea and means for a perfect excecution instead of hurrying them out for a quick buck.

Warning - the following link contains some spoilers:

    http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/168895-new-photos-from-the-dark-knight-rises
Interestingly enough, the story takes place eight years after THE DARK KNIGHT.

Tom Hardy describing Bane: "[he is] brutal. He's a big dude who's incredibly clinical, in the fact that he has a result-based and oriented fighting style. It's not about fighting. It's about carnage. The style is heavy-handed, heavy-footed, it's nasty. Anything from small-joint manipulation to crushing skulls, crushing rib cages, stamping on shins and knees and necks and collarbones and snapping heads off and tearing his fists through chests, ripping out spinal columns. He is a terrorist in mentality as well as brutal action."

According to costume designer Lindy Hemming, "[Bane] was injured early in his story. He's suffering from pain and needs gas to survive. He can't survive the pain without the mask. The pipes from the mask go back along his jawline and feed into the thing at his back, where there are two cannisters."

Bane is sounding less and less like a person, and more and more like an animalistic force of nature.
Nolan has also confirmed that the seven-minute prologue of the film will be attached to GHOST PROTOCOL.

The pics in Empire look really cool. I still think that Tom Hardy will one day feature in the Bondiverse either as a villain or Bond Himself . Very, very good actor. Anyone working with Chris Nolan must have talent.

So, you want to have the whole conversation that pre-RISES announcement again?

Michael Fassbender is the popular choice for Bond after Craig, I think Hardy would be a better choice.

No matter what happens the dark knight rises is the final Nolan film and we know the villains why not discuss the possibility of villains we want to see I fail to see why it's a dumb question.
