Ledger's performance was over-rated and if he didn't die before the film was released, the movie would had not received so much hype and his performance would not have received so much acclaim and he would not had received an Oscar nomination and an Oscar!

Jack was a much better Joker than Heath, by ten fold!!

Well, between an overrating which can be explained, and a criticism which isn't, I'll stick to the overrating.

I think that the trailer accomplishes what it set out to do, which is to get the audience interested in the film. Having been disappointed by The Dark Knight, I wasn't sure if I was going to even go see The Dark Knight Rises, but I like the small bit from it that we actually get here.

What I really like about it is that we finally appear to be getting a villain that is actually a physical match for Batman, as opposed to watching him fight his way through a faceless mob of henchmen that are employed by a villain that is no physical match for Batman, but rather serves only as a match for him on an intellectual level. While that's a type of villain that has its purpose and can be done extremely well, I did think it would have been rather tiring for the third film to feature another villain along those lines. Thankfully, it appears as though Batman will get a villain in Bane who will be all that he can handle in a fight, and we'll finally see all that physical training that he went through to become Batman actually paying off in the line of duty.

Yeah, there's no way you can prove that.

And if you knew anything about Batman lore, you'd know that Ledger was way closer to the source material than Nicholson was.

Yeah, I agree with you on this one! I absolutely despised Heath Ledger's performance, and found Jack Nicholson to be much better! However, the best Joker performance I've ever known was actually done by Mark Hamill. He played The Joker in Batman the Animated Series back in the 1990s, and I've got to say, he nailed it! He is The Joker to me, and Luke Skywalker as well. Hahaha. ;-)

It would be nice to see more good fighting at all. Batman didn´t do so extremely well against the Joker, and he didn´t have much fighting with Twoface. Fox´ mention of the guy beating his opponents to pulp is about all there was in TDK. Ok, the disco fight scene was marvellous, got to give him that ;-) .

And, please, can we finish spamming this thread with kindergarten fights? Thanks a lot.

I have decided to give this movie another chance and wait for the next trailer which better have plenty of juicy shots of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman and they better be good!!

I hope her costume won't look like this:

One thing that people forget is that they've barely begun shooting the film - there was probably not enough good footage to use coherently, and certainly not enough time to finish any special effects shots. The guys who made the teaser were between a rock and a hard place, as there must have been massive pressure to get a trailer out for the release of Harry Potter, while Nolan is (thankfully) not a filmmaker who bends to the studios will.

I admit I would have liked to see more of the film, seeing that it is perhaps my most anticipated release of next year (although that may change as more news on Prometheus leaks out) but what we DO see still whets my appetite. To me, it seems that Gordon is talking to Bruce Wayne as if he knows he's actually Batman, which is massive shift in their relationship.

A fantastic plot line for a Batman film/comic would be what if Batman's true identity really was revealed to the world. Would he continue his war on crime? What would become of Wayne Enterprises, or his colleagues such as Alfred and Lucius Fox?

Prepare to be disappointed, then. Rumours suggest that Hathaway will wear a costume that emphasises practicality over being erotic fantasy fuel. It will apparently satisfy the fans, but it will be nothing like the costumes worn by Michelle Pfieffer or (*shudder*) Halle Berry. It's also believed to feature the goggles. I know you want her to parade around in Victoria's Secret lingerie, but that's not going to happen. If anything, it will be closer to the second picture you posted.

Actually, the goggles are very close to many of the greater comics and graphic novels. I don't mind either a sexy catwoman or a catwoman wearing the goggles or both. I have faith in Nolan.

Anne Hathaway on vacation in Italy....

    wait a minute!

shouldn't be at work filming the Dark Knight Rises?

It's expensive to stop a movie production and filming in the middle of it!!

p.s. I think she has gained weight too

Since when does a supporting actress need to be around for the entirety of the production of a film? You've never seen actors take time off during filming? It's why the Bond film can start shooting and the villain or Bond girl might not be needed until January or so.

From what I can gather, or at least the way I interupt it is, is that the pittsburgh shoot is for an action sequence, and thus doesn't require Anne Hathaway at this point.
Also how do we know the photo is from the past week or so?

I find this sort of action personally very offensive. These damn paparazzi show up and take pics of stars, that I find just plain poor. But on top of it, they take tons of pics of her breasts, and private parts, that just makes me sick. Sorry to veer off topic here, but I wish these celebs could sue those people in the poor house, or have their bodyguards show them into the hospital.

Don't apologize; I agree. It's disgusting. Sites like TMZ have full stories about the most irrelevant things - George Clooney gets a new haircut! Justin Bieber drives around LA in his car! Kate Hudson on vacation! Who cares? Don't these people feel sick that they get paid to stalk people? It's ridiculous.

Why should they stop, when paparazzi stories are read by millions every day ? I do NOT disagree with you Luds, but the problem is not the paparazzi's, it's the millions of people who buy the magazines and read the stories.

Who cares ? - the millions who read the stories on internet and the other millions who buy these magazines. If these kind of stories didn't sell, they wouldn't exist. Here in France, paparazzi magazines sell 2 or 3 times more a day than all other newspapers combined... Whenever I go to my barber shot, all magazines available there are paparazzi magazines. Why ? Because 8 clients out of 10 will enjoy reading them.

That's the sad thing - people will never stop reading these things, therefore fuelling the fires of the paparazzi world. Then you'll have the occasional day here and there where a celebrity is again in the spotlight for hitting a photog or screaming at one, and the celebrity world is up in arms. I think the paparazzi have that type of thing coming to them if they don't know when to back off.

I know DC, Creasy, (haha that sounds funny!) that the real issue lies with the craving for idols that goes with the pop culture, it doesn't sit well with me. This is partly why I'm so anti-pop culture, anti-facebook, anti-pop music, anti-reality TV, etc. Anyhow, again, sorry about going on a tangent. (Math people LOVE to use math terms in every day life ;) )

So in an attempt to go back on topic, let me ask this as I`m no huge fan of the series, have not followed much in this thread, but have seen all flicks: is this a remake? I've seen mention of catwoman, I suppose they're re-making graphic novel stories?
