I must confess its hard to disagree with you after watching him the other night in DAF. I really thought he was sub-par in it. On the other hand I LOVE him in the early films. A real personification of 007 on film.
I agree with this. And this is partially why TB is in many ways superior to GF. Pussy is a gun for hire and has no involvement in the story until fairly late. She is not the center of a rivalry either. Early on and in many ways, Domino is actually relevant to the plot.
She could have been an equal to Bond just as her fellow Avengers actress Diana Rigg was in OHMSS.
Domino,is VERY important to the plot of TB and as 10000% better than Pussy.
Blackman I think is who you want !
1. Connery did phone it in with DAF (and to a lesser extend YOLT), but he still gave a good performance, IMO.
2. Love Tracy/Rigg.
3. IDK
4. The pace f both films never bothered me
5. Yup
6. Nope
7. Perhaps
8. Don't agree, loved Nic Nak
9. Don't agree
10. Debatable, loved Dalton
11. Don't agree at all, I really liked his four films
12. I'm in a minority, but I liked his work on QOS.
I've always preferred it. The cinematography and direction are wonderful and it has the Ken Adam touch, which is sorely lacking in FRWL.
However much I love Dr. No, FRWL is simply the best.
I don't think that's too controversial ( at least when compared to some of the others in this thread).
Whilst I prefer FRWL, DN is still an excellent film.
I said that not too long ago first, so needless to say I'm in total agreement. Minority opinion though for sure :/
1. Disagree. Even if Connery didn't excel himself in YOLT and DAF, his performance from DN to TB are enough to put him on top.
2. Disagree. Tracy is very beautiful and I thanks they gave the part to someone with high quality acting skills.
3. Don't care...
4. Agree on DN but disagree on TMWTGG.
5. They can make interesting underwater scenes, SF has an example of it.
6. Agree
7. DAF makes me laugh too, but TMWTGG is funnier.
8. Disagree
9. Agree
10. It's one of the best, along with Connery and Craig.
11. Disagree, I like TND. TWINE and DAD are bad but not because of Brosnan.
12. Disagree, Tamahori deserves the gallows more than him.
I concede that honor to FYEO.
Great song. I'm a HUGE Soundgarden fan, but Cornell's solo work has been pretty hit-or-miss. YKMN is one of his best though.
I suppose it's all about opinions, right? I would give that title to The Man With The Golden Gun due to it's slow pace, I think. None have ever really struck me as 'boring' per se if I'm being honest.
Regarding TB I've never found it dull. Yes the pace does slow at times but not enough for me to loose interest. Connery still carries the film and has some interest in what's going on around him. That combined with the beautiful cinematography ensures a decent enough flick IMO. Diamonds just has a "half arsed" feel to it that cuts through the whole film, from the production to the action to Connery himself.
Funny, as TMWTGG is my least favourite film in the series, but at least it didn't make me feel tired unlike when I watch Thunderball. I don't think either are particuarly exciting or interesting, but Thunderball, I just find so so boring!
Agreed. Good movie, sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow pace.
It's a frustrating movie because there is A LOT to like about TB--Great villain, Bond girl, locations, etc. But the pace....
:-\"
Glad we agree in every aspect.
