Lupe Lamora should have been the main Bond girl in LTK.
Only if she was recast with a superior actress.

Talisa Soto was not a great actress, but the character, if a bit of a genre cliché, was still classic Bond girl, more than Pam. And she had the perfect kind of exotic beauty for a Bond girl.

She has never done much for me. Got a rather boxy nose. And she's not much of an actress. IMO, Lowell is much sexier and far the better actress.

I still prefer the character of Lupe.

Yes, that's something else. Especially since we know what happens when someone sleps with Lupe.

That's tough to disagree with. Those legs... :-*

Yes, Dalts was one lucky pup.

I guess it'll count as controversial then that I didn't find either of the Bond girls in LTK attractive.

Here it is. In the general public, I am not sure anyone noticed them to begin with.

I don't really mind either but Natalya trumps both of them - both in relation to her as a character and Isabella Scorupco as an actress.

Natalya, by no means a poor Bond Girl, pales in comparison to both Pam & Lupe. As for Izabella, I don't think she was anything special.

I like Pam but part of me thinks she's kind of generic. Natalya feels like an actual person and Izabella brings charm and vulnerability to the part (when Seveneya is blowing up around her I genuinely felt she was in peril).

Regarding Lupe she's ok but, as people have said, her limitations as an actress are very clear in some scenes:

"James please listen to me, there's guards all over the place, you'll never make it"

I agree Natalya felt very realistic. She's still not one of my all-time favorite Bond girls, but I liked her better than the ones in LTK.
On a different note, based on what I've seen most say, this would be a good controversial opinion: You Only Live Twice is my third favorite Connery Bond film.

Neither of the girls in LTK can hold a candle to Maryam in TLD.

I have it fourth out of his releases and 13th overall.

That I agree with. Pam is the stronger of the two Licence To Kill girls, but between Kara, Pam & Lupe, Kara is my favourite.

YOLT is 13th on my list too. Funnily enough sandwiched between TLD and LTK.

Quite so my dear Major Maryam is my joint top Bond Girl.

Anyways back to YOLT, it's 11th on my list, and my controversial yet, I prefer it over From Russia with Love (Gasps!). My Connery order would be 1) Goldfinger 2) Dr. No 3) You Only Live Twice 4) From Russia with Love 5) Thunderball 6) Diamonds Are Forever.

I find her naivety endearing, I can fully understand why Bond develops feelings for Kara. Who is the other joint top Bond Girl in your list?

I'd agree there; I thought she was great.

Thirded, even though I prefer LTK as a film

Here's another one: FRWL is the most erotic and sexually charged Bond movie. It has homoeroticism, sadomasochism, voyeurism, I think I miss some.

I'm watching the film as I type this and agree.

The gypsy fight has just began. There's a dirty, rough yet exotic feel to the film.

Fiona Volpe's bedroom scenes in TB would suggest otherwise if we're talking erotic and sexually charged.

I love TB, but this is just one scene. In FRWL, we have a lesbian villain, a henchman who has homo-sadistic fetichism, we have a possible threesome between Bond and the two Gypsies, Bond being taped during sex, Moneypenny being a bit of a voyeur herself, Kerim Bey being a polygamist, in practice if not de jure... And I miss a few.

I know this isn't really controversial but FRWL is my pick for most atmospheric Bond film. You can really feel the texture of every location within Istanbul.

I can't believe I never thought about that, but you guys are right. Interesting..

TJ : "His fight goes on and on and on......"

    Kinda un-inspired lyrics , not saying that I could've written them better...but still ;)

I also think LTK theme drags a bit , TLD is better imo.

I never liked either that much; two of my least favorite Bond songs
