Don't know if it's very controversial, but TB is my favorite overall collection of Bond girls in a Bond film. Fiona and Domino alone really put it at the top in that department for me.

    Let's not forget Pat.

I didn't. Just mentioning my favorites. I have my doubts a Bond film will be able to top TB's lineup of Bond girls.

We may disagree about Tatiana but we agree on TB's magnificent beauties!

It's ok; everyone disagrees with me about Tatiana :))

Pat is excellent too. TB certainly is outstanding on the female front.

Not controversial at all.The two finest ladies of the Connery era in my opinion.

Sylvia Trench and Honey Ryder are far superior to Domino and Fiona.

Domino and Fiona are an incredible twosome in itself, but when you also add Pat and Paula, it's game over.

Glad that that one's a popular opinion. TB is untouchable with its Bond girls. One of the film's best merits for certain.

Not a huge fan of Sylvia Trench but I love the first scene she shares with Connery in the casino.

My Bond girl rankings would be Fiona, Honey, Pat, Vesper, Pussy, Tracy, Camille

Really? I think CR is as good as it is because of Eva Green's incredible performance.

I think so too. The best character in the film... I actually do not get the hype about all the Honeys and Pussies and Dominos who all do not really do not so very much much in the earlier films....

If we talk performance, Eva Green rulez, nothing comes close to her, certainly not Craig. She steals the movie.

But as a character and that is what my ranking is based of she doesn't do much for me, I don't buy her "sudden" betrayal of Bond, but that's another topic. I said before I have problems with the last act of CR.

Be that as it may, it's still obnoxious to me. It's incessant and over-stressed IMO, to where it just becomes annoying and clingy.

Sounds like that annoying little trollop, the worst ever Bond girl, called Kara 'shit for brains' Milovy...

Agree with this.Eva Green rules but Vesper as a character is very annoying and her committing suicide after Bond killed alls the baddies was nonsense ( Theres actually a very funny youtube video called '' How Casino Royale should have ended '' which makes fun of it actually ).

barry007 is off again! I really think you fancy Kara, as you seem to talk about her a lot!
Eva Green is that rare item..brains and beauty, a perfect Vesper Lynd, she is quite wonderful!
Anyone see her in Sin City 2? Wowza!

I agree... Maybe I am simply biased since I think that Eva Green is a great and extremely beautifull actor... Hence I don't care so extremely much about Vesper as a character...

PS: I agree however that the suicide scene is a bit too emotionaly and dramatic and too much inspired by Hollywood blockbusters....

Yes, there is nothing emotional or dramatic about suicide...

I agree with that too. It's a pity they handled it that way. This is why CR is not a perfect Bond film for me, it is too much influenced what appears to be 'in' at that time.

OHMSS or FRWL are films that feel more confident and classy. The dramatic ending of OHMSS is so much more subtle in its execution (no pun intended).

Wow. I thought Vesper's suicide was handled very well; it was a well-earned emotional/dramatic moment for the film. CR and OHMSS's tragedies are handled differently, but each very well IMO.

That video is class and true. To be fair Fleming's novels stretch belief too, but I love them all the same.

I have to agree with this. The last third of CR is the primary reason I hardly watch the film, although I absolutely love the ending and nearly all of the rest of it. A little too lathered on for my tastes.

I like the plot twist that Vesper actually betrayed Bond but like GoldenGuns has said, the death of Tracy in OHMSS is much more subtle and natural in its execution. The emotions are also less forced than in CR.

However, I still love Vesper, mainly because of the great Eva Green.

I prefer the second half of TND to the first. I think that is pretty controversial around here, eh? :>

I've always been bothered by the racism in the early films. It seems like its the elephant in the room that so many fans want to ignore.
    DN is explicitly racist.
As are GF and to a lesser extent YOLT
Around the time of DAF (1970's) the racism seemed to subside and completely vanish. So many claimed that LALD was racist but I disagree. I found GF and DN much more racist than Moore's first film.

DN the night club scene with the Jamaican dancers, rolling their eyes and dancing like a bunch of ... trust me I've been to many dances and have seen many people of color dance and I've never saw a black person make those faces while dancing.
I never got past the scene where Bond orders Quarrel to "fetch my shoes". I've mentioned this on several occasions and no one seems to get the racist overtones of this line.

GF the way the Koreans are displayed and the comments regarding OddJob are hardly flattering in their racist overtones.

At the risk of getting flamed: I am not being overly sensitive.
