I actually happen to think that TWINE is a brilliant Bond film mixed with psychological drama thriller and it paved the way for the Drama Bonds of the Craig era, especially Casino Royale.

Agree except for the bold. OHMSS and the Dalton era are much more responsible for that. Did TWINE contribute? Of course. Just not all by itself.

    yeah include Goldeneye :)

I'm more than happy to include GoldenEye, Brosnan's other excellent Bond film.

Ah, i see @Dragonpol is a fan of TWINE. Good show!

I don't have any controversial opinions about our beloved series, apart from I quite like Pierce Brosnan; he tied at the top of the Bondian tree with Conners.

Interesting. I don't agree, but interesting nonetheless.

I like TWINE, MR, TSWLM, TB, OP, GE, AVTAK, OHMSS, better than Skyfall

Are those all of the movies you like better than Skyfall, or just a sampling? I personally prefer GoldenEye and On Her Majesty's Secret Service to Skyfall, but The Spy Who Loved Me isn't far behind.

I like those 8 films better then Skyfall

Here's another controversial opinion, perhaps. George Lazenby is the second best Bond, after Sean. Craig is third.

Not in the least bit controversial in my book mate.

After that it gets a little tricky with the rankings, because I like Goldeneye better than any of the Dalton films, but I like the tone of Dalton's films better than the sum of Pierce's films.

After that, in the distance is Roger Moore, clearly a very nice man in real life playing a character who should rarely be nice, if that makes sense.

    And where does Craig rank?

Craig is third for me, after Sir Sean and George. Craig balances the gentleman/thug line very nicely, and he's not afraid of the action stuff.

Craig and Dalton are tied at number 1

Quantum of Solace is better then Skyfall

Live and Let Die is underated

There has yet to be a good American Bond Girl and the closest was Dr Jones if we had a more believable American actress then she would of been perfect.

Dr Jones? That's not controversial, that's utter madness. Pam was a significantly better Bond girl.

Heres how I woud rank the Bond actors. Please note that just because I ranked these actors in this order doesnt mean I like their Bond films better then the others

    1. Sean Connery
    2. Pierce Brosnan
    3. Roger Moore
    4. Daniel Craig
    5. Timothy Dalton
    6. George Laz

It is no secret no anyone here that I adore QoS, and could write a long paper examining the rich themes inside it, touching on Bond's stages of grief that progress in the story, his tested and ever-growing relationship with M, Beam and how he acts as a major foil to a loyal Felix, the brilliant villainy of Mr. White, the artful craft of Forster and his crew, and ultimately praise what is one of the greatest character studies on James Bond that I have ever seen.

Also, I don't really care if I ever seen a gun barrel open up a Bond film ever again.

0Brady... I've got you in my sights! :))

I agree it can be refreshing to move the gunbarrel every once in a blue moon, but to never have it at the start again is a blasphemy!

CR's title song was the best ever in a Bond film.

Best as a pure song or best as a Bond theme? The two can be different.

I vote OHMSS but for non-instrumentals I agree wholeheartedly that YKMN is #1.

It won't happen, @Risico007, but I've heard quite a few people say they want him as the next Bond.

Based on how it's going as of now, I have all the faith in the world that the next Bond will be a great one as well.
