This looks like some kind of twisted date-rate porn:

How about this nice serial-killer cover?

Hmmm, I didn't know Bond was a woman!!

This is just about as bad as the new ones:

I don't care for these new covers either but Bond has survived a plethora of crappy covers, he'll survive these.
That's the point ;)
The 1st Edition had an ugly cover. Bond was still successful.
With the 60th anniversary of CR's publication coming up next year, hopefully Vintage will do a hardcover re-release with the original covers, or a boxed set with the originals.
Yeah, I don't understand why they won't do this. Maybe IFP just want to confine them to the glory days of Bond. Maybe it's a sentimental issue.
LMAO Mr. Spy! And why the American publisher in the 50's decided to change the titles (and such BAD titles to boot) is beyond me!
These are the versions I read as well. It really takes me back.
If I didn't have the novels, I'd most certainly buy them.
Which covers are you referring to?
^That. I must say I like these covers a lot more.
These are right up my alley:
The 2002 and 2006 cover arts were also excellent.
Really? I think they are so unimaginative, and some of the titles are absolutely botched.
The line, "There is only one Bond" on the new covers is rather ridiculous.
Those are rather good. B-) My other Bond novels are already looking foward to these books joining them.
I could not agree more! What would have been wrong with "Bond. James Bond"?
Which? The black and white ones?
As for the black-and-whites, DN, TB, and OHMSS look pretty cool, and, unless my eyes are fooling me, it appears that it's supposed to be real locations/a person on the cover, not a drawing, correct? If so, I've never cared for books with covers like that - always preferred drawings.
Just get all of them, then tell her I said it was okay to do so. She'll be so confused that she'll (hopefully) stop caring.
But, she is a woman, and just like my lady, she's too smart.
No, that's great, I'll just say Creasy47 said it would be alright, sure she'll understand. LOL.
And surprisingly now that I have that copy I don't hate the design quite as much as I did when the covers were first revealed.
