Just saw the England lineup. No surprises, but surely a high quality team on paper. Watching the Norway game now, and that lineup can't even draw people to the stadium. Can't be more than 8000-10 000 at most?

From success with Iceland, Lars Lagerbäck has a different challenge with this team. Can't se much of a collective, compared to the brilliant Iceland team.

Still better than the Etihad for a league cup game.

Don't complain to much as a fan of the Dutch team I was cheering on France last night they looked like they enjoyed the game.

And because Bulgary won the game from Sweden too many people are convinced we still might get to the World Cup.

I say drop the coach, the older player and start building with young men that want to play. And aim at the next European Championship.

I'd rather watch a league cup game from the Etihad on tv, to be honest, but international breaks make you watch games like these – just to get some bloody football. Etihad must draw more people to the stadium than 8000-10 000, even for a league cup game?

Oh, and now Norway actually scored! Penalty, though.

I'm being facetious, of course, but the Etihad has seen random cup games where attendance is down by nearly 20,000.

Ah, well, that's maybe to be expected, facing a team from lower divisions. But for the national side to fill probably under half of the capacity, is quite bad. Not going to qualify by the looks of it, so it's understandable, though.

I watched that game the French are a good side, I would argue in defeat the Dutch showed more spirit than England

Indeed. DIY on my own ball sack would be less tedious than England.

Watching my own Northern Ireland myself Vs San Marino. May be 3 up but the SM keeper has been superb, stopped it from being more.

Ah, San Marino, the team who scored their first away goal in the World Cup since 2001, against Norway last year. Two goals by Josh Magennis for Northern Ireland – good player?

Although on a point of order; setting about your nutsack with a Black & Decker would hardly be a tedious experience would it?

I can't think of many things more guaranteed to grab one's attention than a hedge trimmer coming with inches of your bollocks like the laser in GF.

It should really have said 'painful', but I enjoyed the concept of bollock DIY being something of a common, but thankless task.

I will accept that compliment but I suspect that we are both not satisfied with our teams even if we are more or less coasting along on old glory not yet investing in a new generation of players.

Yeah he's ok at the level he plays for Charlton. Big, strong and can be a handful. Not a top league player unfortunately but does a job.

Northern Ireland played some good football and the manager,Michael O' Neill has done a fine job.

I see. Two goals is a good performance, though, even when playing San Marino. Is he a regular in the starting eleven?

Yeah, regular at Charlton and does well enough for them.

They have done so well over the last few years, it's great to see. One point against Czech Republic should see them get 2nd place in their group behind Germany. Be a tough playoff game to get to the World Cup, but you never know.
