Wigan v City quite a decent ding dong and City down to 10 men evens it up a bit. The ref gets a yellow out at first and then changes it to red did the VAR guy overrule him?

Nonetheless seeing Pep losing his shit quite amusing.

Is there VAR in this game at all? The commentator on TV here said there wasn't.

Shame they went to commercial just as the tunnel cam was on, as things went crazy there! Read somewhere that Ederson appeared to push Cook!
Drama! Watching Wigan Athletic-Manchester City right now, and City are down to ten men after Delph get's the red after a sliding tackle which catches Power across the ankles - I think. Only saw the one replay, which didn't show the right angle. This was just before half-time, and there's a full half to go!

On top of that, the referee appears to have had a yellow card in his hand, but then takes out the red. Guardiola and Cook are seen furious on the sidelines, with heated exchanges going between them.

In England where we 'kick and beat each other to death like real men' it's a yellow but his studs were up a bit and I've seen them given. Don't really see why Pep is going mental. Perhaps it might be because he now might have to actually earn his money for the next 45?

Perhaps! Makes this Monday game a lot more exciting, that's for sure!

I thought all these FA Cup games have VAR? But there again no one has really mentioned it so you might be right.

We got the tunnel footage here and it looked like Pep was basically shouting 'Do you want some? I'm handy' at the Wigan manager. Alas he was held back as I would've liked to see how the urbane, metrosexual tactician with a nice line in designer jumpers would've done in a ruck with a bloke who looks like he eats tripe for breakfast, lunch and dinner and whose idea of speaking a foreign language is to shout 'Oi Gunga Din' to a waiter in an Indian restaurant.

A bit strange to not include VAR in all games, don't you think? The commentator here hasn't talked any more about VAR either.

As a neutral, that would be quite a fight to see. More entertaining than what's going on out on the pitch! Such a clash of style between the two, as you mentioned, haha! :))

I agree it's ludicrous that some matches can have it and some can't. Surely the rules of a competition has to be the same for all teams doesn't it? So one team gets knocked out because the linesman lets an offside goal stand an one goes through because the VAR denies the same offside goal?

Hello!!! Will Grigg's on fire etc....

Let's see what Pep has in his locker now!

Indeed, it's ludicrous. Surely has to be commented upon by pundits and commentators. The way VAR has been introduced, is horrible, really.

    Come on, Wigan!

Wigan have really gone all in in their defensive work tonight. Sean Dyche will be applauding this!

Watching replays; wonderful work from Wigan leading up to the goal.

What's Walker supposed to be doing there? He could get a game at Liverpool with defending like that.

If it stays like this I'm hoping Pep will go into meltdown over the red card in the post match interview.

Thing is was the decision that contentious? A red a bit harsh perhaps but I've seen them given and if you go in with your studs up you run the risk. Don't know why Pep lost his shit like that.

He really lost his shit, didn't he. Will need to see more replays to make my mind up on that challenge, but I see people are debating the challenge on Twitter.

Will Grigg is ON FIRE !!!

Quadruple gone,up to my boys on Sunday to make another trophy disappear.

    Well done Wigan.

Oooh Man City fans doing a mini riot.

Definate red card to me ,both feet off the ground, which the linesman saw and a great decision.

City fans kicking off. They've been good for 5 years and the sense of entitlement is sickening. Nice little ban for Sergio there too for clumping a fan.

And where's Pep? Face the cameras you bottler.

    Take notes, Arsène!

The match coverage ended with the ref blowing the whistle here. Must hope the post match interviews find their way online now!

I didnt expect that from City....disgusting behaviour from players, manager and fans..and the red card was correct, both feet off the ground.

I agree. Not a lot of contact but you leap in like that these days you can't be surprised to go.

It was a brave decision, and showst that our refs ,with a linesman's guidance.can still be tough enough to judge it correctly.

Delph has a habit of doing this..he is a total pratt, what if he did catch him...a possibly leg breaker.
    It's the intent....

Wait, Agüero did what?! This is a game that keeps on surprising, even AFTER it's finished! Any post match interviews, yet?

SKY got video footage of him punching a Wigan fan and being held back, after the final whistle.

Has to be a ban. It's not as bad as Cantona but not much different to what Brian Clough did.

Docking City 12 points for their fans would liven things up a bit too!

    There you go son:

Actually not that bad at all. But you touch a fan and you've got to get a three match ban minimum.

Thanks for sharing! Yeah, not too much contact there, but he does go after him a second time there, being held back. Will be interesting to see what the repercussions might be - if any. What are the rules in these situations?

Well Cantona and Evra got long bans but this nowhere near that league.

Back in the day Cloughie pretty much got away with this:

But then this was back in the days of hooligans and Clough was God in Nottingham. Also pre snowflake days when a bloke could take a smack and shake hands without getting PTSD.

It really is right up in the air what might happpen to Augero but I'd be surprised if they let him off with anything less than 3 games. As you say chasing after the fan too doesn't do him any favours.

I might be imagining this but didn't Clough and the fan make up live on parkinson or something? Haha

Have never seen that clip! Different days, that's for sure! How soon will the FA make a statement or similar on the Agüero situation? Usually within a week or something?

Just read that City fans hit a police officer throwing an advertising hoarding. Things got really out of hand, it seems! Wasn't even mentioned in the sports news coverage, here.

Hah! Batshuayi always deliver on social media!

As well as on the field. Scored twice and provided an assist ln his debut for Dortmund.

Saw that! Good for him to get such a flying start at Dortmund. He's a good player, even though his Chelsea career has been a bit difficult.

    ______
Watching Burnley-Man City now. Kompany playing rough against the Burnley team so far!

I think he’s a good option up front for Belgium. Also, as a striker it’s never easy at a club like Chelsea. The attacking play of Dortmund should suit him better.

How is the Belgian team doing these days? Have you got hold off a better coach finally?

Sorry @jobo just revisited this thread after a few weeks. We still have a poor coach unfortunately. It’s the most talented squad we’ve ever had, but I’m afraid weak strategy might keep us from glory again this summer.

Has anyone here seen any Watford games this season - particularly noticing Abdoulaye Doucouré? Read a little piece about Arsenal, Liverpool and Sp*rs being interested in him.

He was very good at the start of the season, but, like the whole team, his form has dipped badly.

Yeah, Watford really did dip in form eventually. He plays as a DM, doesn't he?

GOOD NEWS : I have been given 2 tickets to Sunday's cup final at Wembley.
BAD NEWS : It's slap-bang in the middle of the Man City fans.

I gave them to someone else.
