How are the pundits and commentators over in England? Do they hold a good quality level of punditry? Rarely see much of them, other than the odd clip on Youtube, or similar.

I think Sky's pundits and commentators are good, they have interesting points and are not scared of giving out opinions which might piss off a player or manager.

Think those pundits are the ones I've seen the most in clips. Merson is at Sky too, isn't he?

    Here's Carragher today:

That's a decent line-up, right there! Phil Thompson was a guest on the Norwegian PL coverage a couple of years ago, I think. Possibly Graeme Souness, as well. Might be mistaken.

According to a story from a podcast I listen to, Sam Allardyce was a guest some years ago. He had a cold, and apparently infected the others in the studio with what they all called «the nastiest cold I've ever had!»

Agreed. It’s plain stupid. The idea that the bloke giving him some is also in the wrong is ridiculous. He was hardly aggressive, just being a dick. Besides, it comes with the territory of being a multi-millionaire (ex) football player, as opposed to Barry Nobody in his Corsa. If Carra were smart he’d have either ignored it, or chucked some pithy Scouse retort back, like ‘5 Times!’.

It’s the spitting that is disgusting. A casual flipping the bird with a smile might’ve seen him in hot water, but it would’ve amused me. Stooping to the level of gobbing at a teenager is disgusting.

Why he didn't he just close the window, turn up the radio and then burn him off in his expensive motor at the next lights?

The guy is a legend and all but I'm afraid he's going to have to go. No doubt he's already had the Arabs on the blower to his agent to bring him over to Dubai with Keysie and Andy Gray.

I am suprised Carra lowered his window to begin with, I have a temper though never spitted and never would it's disgusting I agree.

Yeah, I don’t get it. I imagine Keysie has already been on the phone. Would be worse than getting the call from the clinic to say it’s terminal.

Who can they get with the gravitas to go head to head with Gary Nev now? And is not scared to say it like it is? They are the only two not scared to speak out. Maybe they could poach Roy Keane?

As I mentioned on the last page, Carragher also does work for Viasat, covering some CL games – usually alongside Jan Åge Fjørtoft. Wonder if we'll see Carragher on TV in the next CL round.

Edit: Just read that he won't be on TV in the next CL round. He was originally supposed to be on screen.

    ________
Sold Sterling for a -4 on Fantasy, as he was injured. Starts against Stoke…
… and he assists David Silva's goal. Wow.

    @barryt007 Merson wants Rogers:
«I think he [Rodgers] now needs a change and needs to come back down. I’ll be shocked if he didn’t get a good job, I’d be quite shocked if he didn’t get the Arsenal job.»

Pellegrino gets the chop. Surprised it took them so long.

Hopefully they get someone in who can give them enough of a new manager bounce to beat London FC in a few weeks.

That should be a match to watch. Both teams are desperate for a win. «A six-point match», to quote Trevor Morley. Meanwhile, the man Soton fired - Claude Puel, is managing a good Leicester team, currently eight. French managers is a good fit for The Foxes, it seems.

That must have been frustrating! At least Norwich got some attacking returns.

I took Sterling off my subs bench and put him into the team just before kick-off yesterday.

    That paid off !

EDIT : no it didn't pay off,i forgot about the rules and was too late....bloody hell !!

    Oh, that's too bad!
Currently on eight players for next gameweek (as there are only a few matches played that round), and wondering if I should just make one free transfer, making it nine i total - and just forget about adding more players. Taking a hit just to get someone who might deliver two points seems unnecessary.

Saving wildcard until the international break, I think.

Just spent the last hour trying to buy World Cup tickets.

Had 4 for England v Belgium and 4 for a QF in the basket then when I went to pay just kept getting error message. I'm not alone apparently.

Either a classic FIFA shambles or Vlad has said 'Make sure no one from England gets f**k all to teach Teresa to stop running her gob off about midnight deadlines.' Both are equally possible.

And probably next time you go on there, the tickets will all magically be gone.
That is one of the most frustrating things out there, when you know you have something,on a time limit, and the bloody thing keeps saying error message.

Considering any transfers for next gameweek? Will sure be a low scoring one, given the few teams that play.

    ___________
Hate buying tickets online. Error messages when going to checkout have been a very common issue. Luckily things have sorted itself out (almost) every time, but those events have been nowhere near the size of a World Cup.

Sounds like a good plan. I'm currently four points off a lead in a mini league, and will try to be smart with the wildcard, hits and transfers to possibly finish first by the end of the season.

We should set up our own MI6 PL fantasy mini league via the PL website next season..it would be a right laugh with @TheWizardOfIce , @jobo , @Fire_and_Ice_Returns etc..

I am not sure I would be much of a contributor... I don't really follow the PL very closely except for some key games here and there. And I have never understood the fascination for this Fantasy League thing to be honest. Seems like a lot of extra stress. There is enough pressure in watching your favorite team and players and hope they do well. The added stress of worrying about a bunch of other players' performances that normally wouldn't matter to me, is not really needed in my life, sorry ;)

Haha, that's totally understandable! I'm sitting here hoping every week is another Burnley clean sheet! That does add a bit of excitement in "boring" matches, though. :-)

In the end, it's just a bit of fun; trying to predict who's likely to be in form, score and/or defend well. Didn't think I'll like it either, but I got of to a good start the first gameweek, and now I'm having great fun (when all goes well, of course).
