I wonder if that will cost us tomorrow?
It's incredible. Bayern could have been out of sight by the end of the first fixture.
I think Liverpool have a decent chance in the final, if they don't do any mistakes against Roma. This Real team have been a bit sh*t, really. And very lucky.
You should be fine unless you go into coma for 90 minutes as Barcelona did...
Zidanes Real Madrid fascinates me. They never impress me. They always seem vulnerable at the back and predictable going forward. Yet all margins that potentially could turn in their favor always do, and they are apparently impossible to eliminate in this competition.
Based on their vulnerable defence I would say Liverpool will have a very good chance against them in the final. But who am I kidding? Of course they will find a way to win it somehow! It is written in the stars somewhere...
Bloody hell wiz we might've conceded twice (one after a dubious pen btw) but we scored five!
Have you forgotten the league game against. City at Anfield? If there'd been one more minute of stoppage time we'd have drawn that game. 2 minutes and we'd have lost it.
All Roma need to do is be one goal ahead by 89 mins. If they score the second on 90 then the third will swiftly follow within even a parsimonious 3 mins stoppage time.
The one thing I'm clinging to is that we should certainly score one which ought to be enough.
This Buvac thing could prove fatal though. You don't want to be destabilising a well oiled machine at this stage of the competition. Everyone denying it's a bust up but it must be something exceptional for him to have finished 'for the end of the season'. Even the death of close relative might rule him out for tomorrow but the final as well? The whole situation is very weird.
They certainly could need him before a potential (likely) final against Real Madrid.
Would Arsenal fans be happy with him? A bit more interesting than Brendan I suppose and if nothing else it would amusing to see how long Ozil would last if asked to do gegenpressing!
I don't know if Arsenal fans would be happy or not, really. I think everyone expect the club to announce a name with some "pedigree". Arsenal might not be the biggest club out there looking for a new manager, but as a project it should at least be interesting for some managers.
If you look at a few of the other names being talked about, you have Vieira, Arteta and Henry, where only Vieira have any experience managing a club. Buvač would fit nicely into that category, and would probably be just as likely an appointment as any of these (maybe with the exception of Vieira). Then there's the Dortmund connection. Look at the two main players Sven Mislintat have brought in so far(I take it that Wenger didn't have much to say here): Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan. Both whom played under Klopp/Buvač in Germany, where Mislintat was the chief scout - the vey same position he holds at Arsenal now.
It is the perfect rumour story to write. At the same time, I feel like Arsenal is the only top six club who would take such a gamble. But, it's all probably just BS.
Regarding Rodgers, there's only the pundits who even talk about him. And they sure can't stop talking about him, either… When is «He's been so brilliant at Celtic» a valid point? They win the league by default. I've seen Özil quite lively for the national side more than once, in fact. I'm sure he could do it, if asked to!
I do worry that we could possibly have a Clough/Taylor situation here and that on their own Jurgen and Buvac might be nowhere near the sum of their parts together.
But why else would he go? Why would you trade being assistant with a manager who you get on with (assuming there hasn't been a bust up) and team on an upward trajectory with the chance of a CL final to be assistant for a unknown manager at a team not in the CL that needs rebuilding from top to bottom?
The whole situation is more than a little weird - even if he has been promised the Arsenal job why would he go before tonight and the potential final?
He does know quite a few people who have arrived at Arsenal so he might see it as a challenge.
As for his departure time,it can only be a massive bust up with Klopp,or his methods have been unfairly questioned.
Seems quite a left field choice for Arsenal but then I suppose Wenger was at the time. But then again perhaps we are getting ahead of ourselves. The whole thing is pretty thin on evidence at this stage.
Indeed..i'm sure questions will be asked tonight.
Don't expect them to be answered, though. Klopp - and even the players have refused to comment on the Buvač situation. What a time to have a bust up!
@barryt007 Wenger hoping for a defensive miracle?
Not really followed the story though really poor timing.
What did you predict?
2 - 2 Liverpool to score first and early, though think Liverpool may score more now
Wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool get more than the two goals. Roma might get a couple too.
