Wonder how long Čech's contract is?
Really don't know if I want to watch this game, but I have to!

Koscielny in real pain. Looks like his achilles? Have to be carried off.

Given his Norman Wisdom clearance into his own face for their equaliser last week that might not be a total disaster.

If it's the achilles, he'll probably miss the World Cup (and his last one, most likely), so it's very much a disaster…

    ???

France shorn of an important player? I fail to see how that constitutes anything but good news for England. Now we just need half the squads of Brazil, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Argentina, Uruguay and Iceland to get injured too and we might have half a sniff at making the QFs.

It might well be a disaster for Koscielny but him being out weakens France's squad which is anything but.

There are teams I don't care for in the World Cup, but I don't go "nice!" if one of their players misses out due to injury. People are different, I guess.

Yep I guess so. I can give you a massive list of players I want to do their hammy.

1-0 - doesn't change anything. Arsenal would have taken pens before the game and they still will. 45 mins for Wenger to show he's still got something in his locker.

    What's with all the "x"-es, @barryt007?
Wouldn't mind a drink myself now. Have to get up early, so that makes it difficult…

Both teams were quite average in the first half.

Not looking good a fluke goal off a knee would do Arsenal now, Madrid should have got a second if Griezman had passed it after Costas great work.

So despite all the nauseating 'it would be a fitting send off if Wenger won the Europa' platitudes we've had to endure over the last few weeks this is how the Arsene era ends; not with a bang but with a whimper.

Athletico managed the game reasonably well from what I saw, anytime Arsenal got into good areas they were wasteful. This game was more like a CL semi than the two previous nights games.

Well I guess fans won't be chanting Wenger out.

Its time to get rid of him anyway.

How is his contract situation now? 2020? All will rely on the new manager, of course.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal are set to sign Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu. Would be strange to be close to agreeing a deal for a defender if a manager is not in place. Could be that a manager have agreed taking over at Arsenal, only that we don't know who yet.

Sky Sports are pretty reliable ,but,as you say,we wouldn't sign anyone without at least having a manager semi-ready to go and is being consulted...interesting.

Steven Gerrard about to be announced as Rangers manager according to BBC Sport, thats a massive gamble.

It doesn't matter much for France anyway. Umtiti and Varane are likely to be the first choice pairing anyway. And they have plenty of strong central defenders in reserve.

Wonder if we'll hear any leaks or rumours about the new manager in the days leading up to or after the Huddersfield game? That will be the last match for Wenger.

Haven't heard about this Caglar Soyuncu before. Would be very likely for Sven Mislintat to look to Germany for new players, so it's an interesting rumour at least.
    __________
Rangers taking a massive gamble, that's for sure. Even though it's the Scottish Premiership, you'd think they could get someone who's managed teams before!

Interesting fixture. Brighton will make the most of their last home match of the season. Have to admire the work Chris Hughton has done. Class manager.
