Brighton are up for it and so far United aren't, it's not surprising United are one of the lowest distance covered teams in the league, United barely break a sweat in some games.
Sometimes a bit surprised how often United just sit deep and defend - even against teams further down on the table. They have plenty of attacking power.
Oooh, that was a nice save from De Gea! (and a good shot by Murray. Looking for a ticket to the World Cup…?)
Great save... With the midfield on the pitch currently the ball is moved too slowly, as a fan it can be a chore watching United when they are like this.
Looks that way, yes. Sánchez is injured, right?
Apparently that's what Jose said pre match, Jose will try to protect key players leading up to the final. If we win tonight second place secured with two games left.
United really are poor gr
Didn't read anything about a Sánchez injury before the match, so I was a bit surprised to not see him in the squad. Sánchez has looked a bit better recently, so they will no doubt need him for the final.
Sanchez is a big game match winner, some United fans have complained about his signing though they are frankly clueless lol
I was close to doing the exact same thing, but the number of hits needed put me out of doing so!
It might take time for any player to settle at a club (Salah one exception, of course). Sánchez will no doubt become even better in the United shirt eventually.
Oh, f*ck, sold Pascal Groß for a -4 hit in FPL. Of course he scores against United…
Yeah next season we will see the best of Sanchez.
Also a bit strange to think that Bruno is 37 years old, and still manages to do well playing right back at this level.
Edit: It was £3m for Pascal Groß!
My top 5 in reverse order:
5. Hughton - Has just kept his head down and quietly got on with things. I can't really remember ever seeing Brighton play to be honest but to keep them up is a great achievement.
4. Pep - Has won the league in dazzling style but then that should be the minimum requirement when you are spunking ludicrous amounts of money all over the shop like a Sheikh's wife on Bond St.
3. Dyche - Has worked miracles on a shoestring with an unfashionable club. Please FA sack Southgate and get him in for the World Cup.
2. Rafa - With zero backing from his disgrace of a chairman has somehow kept them up and with games to spare. He really needs to be at a CL club instead of playing his trade at this level.
1. Hodgson - Much as it sickens me to admit it given I dropped £250 on a ticket to the Iceland debacle you have to say the guy has pulled off an absolutely impossible feat. After giving the other clubs a 7 game head start he has pulled them from oblivion to stay up comfortably.
Honourable mentions:
Jurgen - Has played some spectacular stuff and of course the CL performances have been stunning but in the league we should have sewn up 2nd long ago. The stupidity of not just upping our offer for VVD until Soton accepted in the summer and similar dithering over a keeper have seen too many points pissed down the drain.
Carvahal - A breath of fresh air from the usual managerial merry go round candidates and looked as if they were safe before they've started slipping again. Nonetheless if he keeps them up I'd probably put him ahead of Hughton as they were dead and buried when he took over.
Wagner - If he pulls it off he will have been another guy down the bottom to have worked wonders but it looks like he might just fall short.
Agree on all names mentioned, @TheWizardOfIce. The work some of them have done for their respective teams, is unquestionable. My ranking would be:
1. Dyche - Burnley have been fantastic, and have got results from hard work. Imagine them in Europe! If he doesn't get picked up by bigger clubs, he'll probably just make Burnley even better.
2. Hodgson - Brede Hangeland, who played for Hodgson in Viking, Fulham and Palace, more or less predicted him to steady the ship, and keeping them in the PL. He was right, of course. Hodgson better suited as a club manager, perhaps? ;)
3. Rafa - He has Mike Ashley to struggle with. That alone would place him on a honourable mentions list. Newcastle from promotion to top ten is a work of magic.
4. Pep - Won the league in the most impressive way. Then again, he should with the team he's fielding every week.
5. Hughton - Getting Brighton promoted, keeping them up, while adding players like Pascal Groß from Ingolstadt for just £3m, is brilliant. Great to have them in the league next season. Bonus points for being the most likeable manager in the league.
Nothing to add with the honourable mentions. Jürgen have more to play for still (the biggest throphy of them all), Carvahal have made Swansea worth watching again - and always delivers in interviews, and Wagner have worked wonders getting Huddersfield promoted in the first place. If they stay up, they most certainly deserve it. If they go down, it will only be by a small margin of points.
Out of the World Cup in 2 games? Humiliated by Iceland? I don't think 'perhaps' is the word you're after so much as 'indubitably'.
He's a meat and potatoes, solid, midtable club manager. But compare that to his international record and it makes him practically Fergie at club level.
There was supposed to be a smiley there! Fixed!
Although in your neck of the woods he's still a legend isn't he?
Can't say anyone is shedding a tear. All up to you Southampton now to make the dream of West Ham going down come true.
What, Hodgson? Probably in Stavanger, where he managed Viking. Did alright with them, where they were just two points away from knockout stage in the 05-06 UEFA Cup. They actually managed to win against Austria Wien and Monaco during that campaign.
That might still be possible. Southampton can still pull out a performance.
Well I meant Scandinavia in general. It's all the same to us I'm afraid - saunas, reindeer, fit blonde birds, ludicrous prices for a pint and f**king freezing!
You should visit Scandinavia. You might like it, you know!
Regarding Hodgson, I really don't know if he has much of a reputation in "our neck of the woods". He didn't stick around for a long time in the various managerial positions - with the exception of the Swedish clubs he managed during the late seventies and eighties. His record of clubs managed is quite long!
Hahaha! Aaron Ramsey, too!
Lived in Finland for 6 months old son so I am used to getting battered on 1% cider rather than go to the state alcohol shop.
Only been to Norway once though and didn't eat for the last 24hrs as I refused to pay the prices. £2 for a Twix?? Just rang home and said 'My plane lands at 21.30, I'll call you to get the balti in!'
Actually I'm considering a little tour of some Scanny countries on my way to Russia in June.
Anyway regarding Hodgson - I thought he was a God in Sweden?
