Madrid isnt your enemy Liverpool......................he is.

This is a CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL for Gods sake !!

As soon as the whistle goes im turning it off, cant stand those wankers lifting the trophy..that keeper needs stoning to death in stocks in Liverpool city centre.

It all feels so familiar, doesn't it? Everybody know the weaknesses of Liverpool, just as it's so bloody obvious what's need to be addressed at Arsenal. Didn't stop Liverpool from reaching the CL final though, so hats off to what they've achieved in 2017-'18.

No trophy, though. Would be a memorable season for Spurs. Liverpool (vomit) are a big club and needed that.

No doubt about that - but they really went for it (the CL), with some impressive results along the way as well. Wonder what the result might had been with Salah on the pitch the whole match.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda. 4th in the league, no trophies. They need to step up. Much more attractive brand of football than us, but nothing to show for it.

It does come down to trophies in the end, of course. The absence of Salah just showed the lack of cover. When did Lallana last play that long in a match?

Not sure actually. Maybe our resident big-time Charlie, @001 can enlighten us, if he’s finished convincing himself it’s ‘our year’, next year.

Can’t even muster any hate for the spastic as his career just disappeared down the toilet in front of the eyes of the world and even for someone as heartless as me it wasn’t comfortable viewing. He shouldn’t have been put in that position when his real level is pub player (second eleven).

People laughing at me a few weeks ago for smashing Klopp in October are pretty quiet now. If you’d care to trawl back through numerous posts from back then when we were pissing points away I stated numerous times that having the worst keeper in world football (previously I thought he was just the worst in the league but I think yesterday he secured himself the Ballon de Merde) would be fatal to our season at some point. I don’t take any pleasure in being right about that as Stevie Wonder wearing a blindfold would’ve been able to tell you the same so it hardly makes me Hansen.

Apart from the fact that that he shouldn’t have been playing in the first place it was a big mistake by Klopp not to take him off after the first one as it was obvious that he would be psychologically crushed and more would be to follow.

The yanks and their moneyball bullshit shown up on the biggest stage. Take the sky money and the gate money and the £50m odd left over from Couthino (bet he was roaring with laughter last night btw) and spend £60m,£70m, £80m whatever it takes to get Oblak. To be honest if it’s us enquiring everyone’s price for a keeper just went up by 50% as they can see how desperate we are.

Still I’m sure @001 will pop up in a minute telling us how Salah made more sprints than anyone else in the first 20 mins so everything is good.

The worst thing is that what threatened to be an epic final will just go down as a joke. I feel a bit sorry for Bale too as when anybody remembers that match they won’t remember his goal* just the worst goalkeeping performance in the history of the game.

*BTW does anyone think De Gea might have got a hand to the Bale goal? Kalamityus predictably shifted his weight onto the wrong foot as he connects with the ball and thus couldn’t get the lift to dive for a ball that wasn’t in the top corner by any stretch.

Totally agree wz u @TheWizardOfIce re taking that knobhead off after the first cock up x u could see any small amount of confidence go immediately x terrible goalkeeper n he knew it at the end when he collapsed on the pitch n covered his face.
Real were average n Liverpool should have won.

Just watched the goals again, and it's still difficult to watch, even for someone who doesn't support Liverpool. Will he come back from this? Had it been in the group stages or whatever, then nobody would have been surprised, and it would probably only been a footnote in Liverpool's CL campaign, but the final…
Apart from the fact that that he shouldn’t have been playing in the first place it was a big mistake by Klopp not to take him off after the first one as it was obvious that he would be psychologically crushed and more would be to follow.

You think Mignolet is the better keeper of the two?

I think De Gea could have taken it. Had Karius held his stance in a neutral position, not putting his weight on either foot as Bale got his foot on the ball, he'd probably would had a chance reaching it - if only just. Had Karius done that, it would have been one fantastic save. But you need those incredible saves in your repertoire to be the difference sometimes. The likes of De Gea and Oblak are on that level.

I'm sure Liverpool will put in a bid for Oblak or Roma's Allisson (who have been frequently rumoured to Liverpool already), but Liverpool landing Oblak is probably just as likely as Arsenal sorting out their defensive issues. Stranger things have happened in football, but I wouldn't put money on it*.

*Writing that, Liverpool will surely land Oblak in a crazy deal, and I will look like a fool for writing that comment. And if they do get Oblak this summer, I'll applaud their transfer business.

I thought they Bale overhead was saveable for a top keeper.

Oblak has a release clause of £185m apparently.

Yes to this, although should we have won? Didn't have a clue once Salah went off but without the guy who had clearly been nobbled by a Chinese betting syndicate (Segers and Grobelaar ended up in court for way less than that FFS!) perhaps we might have stumbled to extra time.

But Real just seemed to get lucky in every round. Juve very unlucky (although probably the correct decision I'm afraid Mr Buffon) and Bayern battered them both legs and then Liverpool chose that game for the wheels to come off in preposterous fashion.

This is Norwegian humour I take it? The best I've ever seen him play is bog average at best and he's been getting away with it for the last 4 months because most of the time we've been battering teams and he's had nothing to do.

Just look at the SF v City and the disallowed Sane goal. Even when the clown actually makes a save he seems to think the best place to palm the ball is not round the post but the penalty spot. That's his career done at the top and even medium level. I've never seen him make a single world class save. He occasionally makes bread and butter onesif you're lucky.

Who would take him in the Premier League, La Liga or the Bundesliga? Even the French league he'd be lucky to get a game. I'm not even sure China or MLS would touch him after that. We need to rip up his contract tomorrow - pay it off in full if necessary - just to get shot of him as clearly nobody going to be insane enough to pay us money to take him off our hands.

If I was him I'd do the decent thing and fuck off to Tibet and become a monk.
You think Mignolet is the better keeper of the two?
Exhibit A: CL final 2018. Minger has had some shockers in his time but I don't think I've ever seen him do something as bad as that. Or that.

Who would ever have thought that Djimi Traore's record of being the worst player to appear in a CL final would have been beaten?

So much for that then. The American Mike Ashley hasn't spent that in the whole time he's been here. All of our 'big' purchases (£34 on Salah, £8m Robertson, £35 on Ox, £75 on VVD) are basically covered by the Cout sale.

We keep being told this Keira purchase is the answer to everything but no doubt the guy is checking the small print to get out of it.

Where’s all the Sky money gone? Where’s all the gate money gone? Where’s all the shirt sales money gone? Where’s all the sponsorship money gone?

    We’re just Arsenal basically.

Not many people outside of England really gave Liverpool a chance, it would have been surprising had Liverpool won last night. The strength of Liverpool showed as soon as Salah was of the pitch they became an average team.

Sure Real has been lucky, but to get to finals on only luck is not true, they have a very decent team.

Oh, make no mistake, I'm not trying to say whether he should be back as nr. 1 for Liverpool or not, I'm just speculating on what this might do for his career as a goalkeeper. I'm sure there will be teams willing to buy him just because he played in a CL final.

In hindsight you wouldn't play him over Mignolet, but would you put Mignolet in the starting eleven last night? He can't have played much this year?

Oh, that's dark, @TheWizardOfIce. You shouldn't have such a negative outlook on your club as to compare Liverpool to Arsenal in the way the club spends (or doesn't spend) it's money. I almost feel sorry for what a club Emery has got himself mixed up with.

Well I wouldn’t have played either of them because I would have addressed the festering sore in our team of not having a goalkeeper fit for purpose for the past 5 years long ago.

Jürgen’s approach to the goalkeeping situation is like someone who finds a tumour on his bollock and just thinks it will go away. Well guess what the tests came back last night and it is fucking inoperable you gormless prick.

We could have hijacked the Pickford move in the summer, gone in for Butland or Heaton. Christ even Joe Hart against Iceland wasn’t that bad.

If we don’t start the first game of the season with a keeper costing £40m plus then that is tantamount to dereliction of duty from the manager and board.

So we can add your congratulations to Real then for playing professional ruthless but effective football then?

Perhaps Barca could learn a thing or two from them?

Of course you wouldn't play either, if you had the chance to play someone better. But would you rather see Mignolet than Karius on the list when the starting eleven was announced?

Anyway, there's the summer window. Will be interesting to see who Klopp brings in. Would think he'd be looking at strengthening in defence. Who would you like to see play at Anfield in August?

It should be a decent World Cup despite some potentially lacklustre group games I am hoping for goal fests as apposed to bore draws, I think there are some good sides in this World Cup at the top end.

Felt a bit sorry for Shrewsbury; the first team to pull off a Zanetti free kick since 98 but it gets them nothing.

To be fair though the Millers by far the better team and fully deserved win.

Felt a bit sorry for Shrewsbury; the first team to pull off a Zanetti free kick since 98 but it gets them nothing.

I remember exactly where I was when that Zanetti free kick went in, hell of game until the stupidity of Becks and the bottlers stepped up to the penalty spot... Ince and Batty shocking.

Rosenborg with a 1-2 loss at home against league leader Brann. Rosenborg and Bendtner got a goal disallowed for the offside, although Bendtner was at least a meter onside. A bit later Rosenborg defender Hovland got pushed straight in the back inside the box when Rosenborg got a free-kick. No penalty given, of course. That pretty much sum up this match.

Brann now with a 6 point lead down to Rosenborg on 2nd.

As far as I know, no Norwegian refs/linesmen are going to the World Cup, thankfully!
