Anyone playing the McDonald’s FIFA World Cup Fantasy game this summer?
    https://fantasy.fifa.com/en/home

I'll take a look later I recall a similar one for the last European Championships
Didn't play the Euro one, but I guess it's much the same.
Put up a team earlier tonight. If anyone is interested in playing a mi6community league, that might be an idea!
Can you have a team made up of 11 Salahs? That's @001 out then.

I could be up for that just so I can pick the RAT but am already in about 3 others with various different groups so can't promise to remember as I've got a shitload to do over the weekend (and working nights) before I head off behind the iron curtain to join the fight for England, Harry and St Gareth.

But if someone sets it up I'd be up for joining.

"Shitty work" computers, or shitty "work computers" ? Although, they often go hand in hand.

    Fair point.

Well the work is shit. And so are the computers so it works on both levels.

Although for clarification it is just standard office work - I don't don rubber gloves and work literally with shit.

How many World Cup Fantasy games are there? Seems like there's plenty of them. I'm also playing the TV2 one, but I find myself picking almost the exact same players. Should probably mix things up a bit before the WC begins.

If anyone's up for it, I can put up a league. We probably need to be a few players to make it interesting, though.

I expect reports from Russia, @TheWizardOfIce! Should be an interesting trip. What games have you got tickets to?

Have only got QF in Kazan and SF in St Pete at the moment - England's path to the final if the win the group LOL - but hoping to pick up tickets for a Kalliningrad match outside the stadium (never been to a big tournament when people haven't been flogging tickets for less than I paid) as well.

Also starting off with Eurostar to Brussels and Bel v Cost friendly on Monday to get myself in the mood. Hope its a corker as I'll gone straight to the train after nights so if it was England there's a good chance I might drop off.

That seems like quite the trip you have planned right there!
Wonder how the atmosphere will be in those stadiums during the WC. Can't remember seeing many matches on the telly that's been played over there, other than a few Europa League fixtures. Can't compare those two things, I guess!

Is it expensive traveling inside Russia?

The rematch on TV in less than an hour. The most cringeworthy football event of the year, where the Norwegian national side of the '98 WC play the Brazil national side - giving the Brazilians the chance to "revenge" the 2-1 loss in Marseille.

Edit: Match just finished, with Brazil winning (unsurprisingly) 0-3 at Ullevaal. Several players still had their magic touch, like Rivaldo for example. Brazil's coach for the match was Ronaldo, haha!
    _____________
Watching the Tomas Rosicky's farewell match, now. Fantastic player. Oh, he just scored a penalty for the Czech team against the World team!

Edit: and now a nice assist, as well! Arsenal could need a few players like this…

5-2 in the end for the Czech team. Entertaining match!

The keeper helps James win it there by getting a finger to divert it so it smacks down off the bar thereby invoking Yeboah’s first law that states if a ball cannons down off the bar as it goes in it improves the quality of a goal by 32%.

Tim Cahill a bit hard done to - that’s a great hit that should be further up the list.

Also love how FIFA are so Nazi about their rights tk old footage being infringed that it won’t play embedded in this site, you actually have to go to youtube.

Ha Ha rifling off the bar does add to the aesthetic value, Tony Yeboahs goal was a corker more so because of who it was against.

I did not check the link when I posted it here, BT and Sky often won't let you watch there links on other sites either, FIFA should be greatful I am gIving them free advertising.

Here are the rules for the game. Still reading through them myself, as there's a few differences from the "ordinary" Fantasy Premier League game.

    Wow!

Who the fuck is going to manage them? At this late juncture perhaps one of the senior players, with plenty of experience and a serial record of winning big trophies? It’s time for the RAT himself to step up methinks!!

Edit: And the USA will host World Cup 2026. So a country that doesn’t give a shit about football to the extent it can’t out qualify Costa cocking Rica and sodding Panama will have hosted more world cups in 32 years then we or Spain have ever. That is a fucking joke.

Fernando Hierro takes charge of the team, it looks like!

USA co hosting with Mexico and Canada. The fact got Qatar to host it on its own is more of joke.

The Spain situation is a potential disaster, all eyes on that first game against Ronny and Co, Portugal will be smelling blood.

Mourinho has picked Portugal to get to the final. A bit biased perhaps, but maybe he's onto something.

They are a good side they defended well when they won the Euro's, they have as good a chance as any.

They ain’t great. An ageing (and pretty average) team who are shockingly over reliant on an ageing superstar. They just about got away with it in the Euros when they stumbled to third place in the group and then got a spectacularly easy draw.

If Spain can actually get their shit together and beat them in the first game the pressure will be intolerable. If there’s a winner in the other first game then I fancy them to go.

This. Looking at the players of the Spain squad, you'd expect them to beat Portugal, no matter the coaching situation. I don't know much about the Morocco or Iran team other than what I've heard in podcasts over the last few weeks, but I wouldn't be surprised if both teams target a draw against Portugal. Maybe one of them can get a win against them, as well.

Morocco has a few good players - Juve's Medhi Benatia, Wolves midfielder Romain Saiss, and Hakim Ziyech, who scored on nine goals and supplied 15 assists in 34 Eredivisie appearances for Ajax this season.

Can't seem to settle on a team yet. So difficult to get a balanced team in midfield and up top!

Was all set on brining in David Silva, but will probably look at different options!
