Speaking of; I've always been a fan of the 70's shirts, and when Arsenal only used the cannon to represent the crest:

    What do you think, @barryt007?

    Definitely !!

I also like this one :

That one was used only for a year (in those colours) wasn't it?

There were genuine reasons for a new crest back in 2002, it looks like:
"The Club’s identity has thus evolved over the years and the decision to formulate a new crest in 2002 was two-fold. Firstly, as the VCC crest incorporated many separate elements introduced over a number of years, there was uncertainty surrounding its exact origination. Consequently, the Club was unable to copyright the crest.

Secondly, it had always been one of the Club’s primary objectives to embrace the future and move forward. With Emirates Stadium on the horizon and the Gunners consistently challenging for domestic and European honours, the Club believed it was the ideal time to introduce a new crest."

    That's true of course!

The first Chelsea crest was quite different from what they have today:

Would be a quite different crest to have in 2018!

Edit: here's Newcastle United's crest from 1983-1988, and Blackpool's one from 1979-1987. A bit different, one might say!

It's good timing if they decide to do it, that's for sure. But again, it doesn't need to take more than that for a newspaper to base a story upon. Several transfer rumours this summer comes to mind. No doubt this will be the focus on every PL based football coverage tomorrow.

True though Jose needs to go its over, I'll respect the club if they can be clinical and try to move on from this mess.

Is this a manager issue, or a players issue? Or is it a club structure / organisation issue?

All three from my point of view. I certainly don't think Jose's handling of the situation is good though...

Shelvey not too far from scoring either. Bailly off for Mata now.
