Shame Ramsey has played his last Arsenal game

It really is. It also affects Arsenal's chances of getting anything out of this season. I hope they can find a good replacement, but with a limited transfer budget and a lot of issues to address, that won't be easy. Christopher Nkunku of PSG is one player that's being linked with a move to Arsenal. Would make sense, as Unai Emery has worked with him at PSG.

    ___________
Efficient display by Barcelona tonight. Could probably have played even better if necessary.

…and as I type this, Messi scores a brilliant free kick! 3-0!

No doubt Ramsey will get a good send off at some point during the last Home game. The Arsenal players seemed cut up about it.
    --

Liverpool faired no better than United away to Barca in the end, though at Anfield I think Barca's defence will be vulnerable though Barca will score away certainly with Messi on form.

Ajax v Barca final very likely now

Read on Twitter that there might be a send off for Ramsey and Čech this weekend. Would be appropriate for both, given how many years Ramsey's been at the club, and since Čech is retiring.
    ____________

Barca will surely be in the final. Still feel uncomfortable about Sp*rs potentially reaching the final. On the other hand, it would be great entertainment seeing what Barca might do to them!

I think Spurs losing Kane has damaged there chances of going further, though I heard rumours yesterday he maybe ready to play a part??

Wouldn't surprise me if Kane's back earlier than expected. Didn't the same thing happen the last time he was injured too? Might remember wrong though.

I was just thinking that, he made a miraculous recovery early in the year.

You have to give Klopp and Liverpool a lot of credit on a night like this. They displayed a lot of courage, heart and "pride" as Klopp put it. I cannot say the same about some of their fans however who spent last night pushing people into fountains in Barcelona city centre and the English media who have spent the last weeks banging on about how Liverpool would "smash" Barcelona... But I will feel a bit sorry for the club if they end such a great season empty handed. However I hope it is City who has a late collapse and give them a title, not us ;)

Either that or Poch reported the injury as worse than it really was!

It's not just the placing of the kick, but he hit it with such power and assurance.

    Aubameyang makes it 3-1!

Arsenal should have had more goals in this game. Can only hope the lead is enough!

It will be a tough ask away with your defence, you will need to score I think

Yes, I don't think Arsenal can go through without at least one away goal. Lacazette and Aubameyang worked hard tonight, and hopefully they can deliver the same way next week.

Maybe Chelsea? There has been interest from potential buyers before, hasn't there?

The Glazers should sell up though very unlikely. Abramovich interest in Chelsea appears to have reduced, the Visa situation has not helped

Happy to see Liverpool having to spend maximum energy today defeating Newcastle with a late goal. In the meantime all of Barcelona´s starting eleven for tuesday got a good rest, most of them not even making the trip to Vigo. ;)

With a three goal lead Barca could potentially rest players for the final!

I am not that confident. This Liverpool at Anfield is a test for anyone. On their day they can score three against any team in the world. You would expect Barcelona to score too, obviously, but as Barcelona was clinical and Liverpool wasteful on wednesday, it could potentially be the opposite scenario next week. Liverpool have nothing to lose now while Barcelona have everything to lose. If Liverpool score an early goal, the home fans enthusiasm will sky rocket and nervousness will spread among Barcelona´s players. I expect them to do the job, but they will have to be fully concentrated and take nothing for granted! Paradoxically the incredible collapse last year against Roma could prove to be a help in that regard. They still remember that game vividly and they will be desperate to make sure something like that will not happen again... hopefully...

As a supporter I am at least not celebrating before the final whistle has gone and a place in the final is mathematically secured.

That's true of course, but Liverpool didn't look solid tonight away against Newcastle. I'd be very surprised if Liverpool reaches the final now. The also need to go all attack from the kick-off, which will surely leave them vulnerable on counter-attack.

Add the doubt re. Firmino and now Salah; Barca have a great opportunity here.

Just watched the Spurs lowlights, they got more cards than I did for Christmas.

I can't see Liverpool not conceding against Barca, Liverpool need an incredible performance to get to the final, Liverpool may have run out of gas at the most crucial time.

I was not aware Firmino had been ruled out for the game. That of course changes things.

Only a doubt as far as I've read, but with the title to play for still, we might see Firmino rested for the weekend.

Arsenal are simply not a top four side, unfortunately. Having a self-sustainable model (not by choice) won't get them nowhere when the teams around them have money pumped into their transfer budgets.

    EL it is then…

Edit: Danny Welbeck to leave Arsenal at the end of the season. Will they bring in a replacement, or will one of the youngsters get more playing time?

Well you would think I would be buzzing today clinching the League title away at Aston Villa? Although I am thrilled and so damn proud of the entire club, At 4pm I had lost a dear friend from work to cancer.

I was going to message him tonight and say well done as he is a big Derby County fan like I am with Norwich. So all I will do tonight is toast a good man a couple of times with a drink or two, and out of respect I will be supporting Derby in the play off. Up the Rams.

Some things are just way above Football rivalry. Rest in peace my friend.
