Apparently six teams are against the Premier League restarting, if one more team is against it the whole thing will be scrapped.

Interesting. Wonder who those six clubs are.

Not sure ESPN reported it, my hunch would be those totally against it morally or safe mid table sides.

Probably so. My first thought was that Arsenal is probably among those teams.

Man Utd surely must be one of those teams, they're not going to want Liverpool to win the league considering their huge rivalry!

Watford, Brighton and Aston Villa have now publicly come forward as part of those 6 clubs. I think it's a fair guess that Bournemouth and Norwich are also among those. Anyone near (or in) the regelation zone would benefit the most from the season being voided.

Thanks for the link, and yes, the teams in the relegation zone would no doubt benefit from the season voided.

Just this morning someone I knows family they all have tested positive, I just cant see the league restarting, what if a whole team pretty much tests positive then games are being suspended for two weeks.

I only hope the clubs don't think finances first, then staff and player health and safety second. Do we know when clubs and the FA will have further talks?

Not sure though If I recall they are looking to restart in roughly a month, some players simply wont be able to train. Hope the Brighton players make a speedy recovery.

The Premier League's bottom six are rebelling against the idea of playing at neutral venues - but will agree if relegation is taken off the table.

Thanks. I wonder with another player testing positive, if that might have an impact on when the league can resume. Time will tell, I guess.

I'm not surprised to see clubs being against the idea of playing at neutral venues.

A possible situation could happen. Premier League gets cancelled, EFL plays. Therefore no relegation from PL, meaning Leeds can't get promoted!

19 years old Atalanta youngster Andrea Rinaldi has died this morning, three days after suffering a brain aneurysm.

    Edit:

No professional sport in England until 1 June at earliest.

Premier League clubs voted to allow contract extensions for players whose current deals expire on June 30.

Players at the end of loan spells can also extend their moves if all three parties involved are in agreement.

I just hope other players and staff have been not infected.

Total respect to Deeney for refusing to train.

Reschedule a game? Just as if it had been postponed due to adverse weather conditions?

That's pretty much what they will do.

So if there a teams with player with Corona , those games are then pushed ahead and the team with the sick people then have to play their remaining games in even less time thereby having a harder schedule, what is one team is not able to continue the schedule due to sickness what will happen to the competition.

It's not unusual in normal times for games to be postponed. In the winter of 1963 I believe games were not played for weeks on end.

After Aguero, it's Aubameyang's time to show his drivng skills:

Due to the situation, no single solution will be perfect. Some teams might get a tighter schedule. That is just the way it has to be.

That is just for the money indeed to nad that EUFA has not just put a stop to it and took a statemant in favor of health instead of the mighty dollar. In a sense it is against the health of the players but who cares, gladiators used to die for the audiences.
The FIFA is no better that is why we are going to Qatar & Russia

It is not only about the money for UEFA, distribution companies and the big federations. You have to see the big picture here. Several clubs, especially some of the smaller ones, are in desperate need of the money they get from tv-deals and ticket sales. The last bit they won´t get, but if they also have to pay a debt to the tv-companies, they will be in big trouble. It is not an exaggeration to say that many clubs would risk bankrupcy if the season is not finished. That is big deal. Footballers are young athletes, fit, strong and healthy, and they are closely monitored all the time by entire teams of doctors. The risk they run by playing through the season is basically zero. as long as the directives are there to make sure there is no risk of spreading the virus to the general public, there is really no good reason not to finish the season.

I expect that when one footballer gets seriously sick due to the playing the football unions will receive a hefty lawsuit which they will not win due to the endangerment that they chose to open the player to, with all that bodily fluid as sweat flying around.
