What an end of the season for Man United feeling dejected is a understatement, surely United won't be expected to play midweek with Cup final next weekend,

Right now you must be happy (I would be), but seriously, you must be far from delighted in the grand scheme of things? Scraping 4th with a 1-1 draw. That's surely not good enough for a side with the quality of players City have? That's Arsenal's job.

You are absolutely right. At the start of the season us City lads were having a right old laugh at Man U's expense. As the season progressed, however, things changed...

I personally don't feel like we have much reason to gloat. We have played appallingly without Kompany.

Although not as appallingly as us, to be fair. The headline 'Controlled explosion at Old Trafford', is probably the most exciting thing to happen there all season

Did it end up being a bomb, or do they not know yet? I read somewhere that it appeared to be a phone attached to some gas pipes that was destroyed in a controlled explosion.

Controlled explosion carried out, turned out it was like you say @Creasy47 but it wasn't "viable". No threat to anyone. Crazy stuff...

I certainly hope so. After last week's disgraceful West Ham "supporters" to this today, not great. I'm so far from a Utd fan but what's happened lately is shocking.

Along with (so I'm told) 239,999 other people I took to the streets of Leicester to sing and chant at a bunch of wealthy young men. Bizarre really.

Either way the God of weather was kind, the party in the park was much like a rock festival, and there was much merriment.

A poster was being held up by someone depicting Richard III in a Leicester shirt. The link between the club owners business 'King Power' and the strange upturn in fortunes LCFC have enjoyed since the late King of England was buried in the cathedral has escaped precisely no one.

I do want to mention something that happened as we tried to barge our ways to the park after the open top buses passed by. A group of shirtless, drunken youths sang and chanted behind me in complete disregard for melody or pitch. Suddenly one of them stepped away from the group and began to push people aside, telling people to move out of the way, basically creating a pathway. Then he waved through an elderly Indian couple - she was in a wheelchair, he was pushing - he checked they were safely through, and then resumed his singing.

So that was a 'football hooligan' was it? Time to re-evaluate I think.

Shocking second half from Liverpool tonight. Decent in first, great goal and comfortable. Didn't appear for the second half and got what their performance deserved. I'm a big Liverpool supporter and am gutted right but credit to Sevilla who fully deserved the win..

No excuse for that pathetic performance tonight. (And I'm talking about the officials.)

That said, the Reds did what they have done a lot all season: lost the lead.

I think Jurgen's gegenpressing has been found out.

If you don't have the game won by half time you are f**ked because on 60 minutes the players are gone.

Even if we had somehow scraped to extra time it wouldn't have mattered as everyone was out on their feet.

Another trophy lost for Liverpool. Was curious the other day, so looked to see when they last won any kind of trophy. Anyone know when it was?

You don't care, but you feel the need to correct me every time I relate to La Liga the best league in the world? I think it translates to; "I care, but have run out of any proper counter arguments". I don't blame you! ;))

Yes, curiously somebody claimed the other day that Liverpool are "a big club" because they are never satisfied when they,re not winning trophies...

I can picture you, Lone Wolf McQuade, spending your Saturdays in a provincial town centre with your big book of stats and your megaphone. The masses trooping by as the sound is drowned out by the echo of Spurs - Liverpool in a nearby pub. Then, the hushed tones of a jovial old widower as she stumbles out of Oxfam, "You got your big book Jobo?" Back in business.

IIRC it was a League Cup against Cardiff a few years back.

Oh, so we are into personal insults already? :) You bang on about the idea that I am very passionate and bitter about this topic. On the contrary I find this very amusing.

I could speculate about the private life of the most grumpy guy on this forum. You know, the ill tempered guy who always reacts with sarcasm to everything, who regularily throws around insults, and who finds pleasure in watching Liverpool fans cry, but I won´t. He seems to be much more bitter in general than me though...

Speculate on your private life? I don't genuinely think you do that. Lighten up Jobbers.

Although if you do, I want to know where.

Christ we'll have Leicster fans chipping in in a minute!

Yep another European final lost. Tragic isn't it that we've lost more European finals than everyone outside Utd have even been in. Yet still have 8 trophies to show for it.

Actually, again if you exclude Utd and without looking it up, we've probably been in more finals than the rest of English clubs combined or at least not far off.

If fans of little clubs want to put the boot in feel free if it makes you feel less inadequate.

Just note that @RC7, the guy who should want us to fail more than any of you, answered the question rather than chip in with feeble digs and that shows the class of proper big club rivalry. There's hatred but there's also grudging respect when Utd and Liverpool fans go at it because deep down we know that we are very alike and that we are the only two true big clubs in this country.

Yes like most Liverpool fans, they cling to the past and love to remind everyone about a time long gone.

So what's Liverpool's excuse for finishing 8th this year?

And here I am. Hope you didn't drop one of our 'e's deliberately.

Anyway, I have always felt it takes a big man to support a little club. (Leicester has a group of Man U fans called the Leicester Reds. Makes my skin crawl it really does).

We can measure 'big' by support (Newcastle have that), or by revenue (Man City have that) or by trophies won in the past (Liverpool have that). Only the first two measure the size of the club today. The latter is history.

    =D>

Championship club Newcastle (who have won shit all in 50 years) bigger than 5 times European champions according to your logic then, presumably based on their higher gate and the Mike Ashley Sports Direct billions?

So you are saying plucky old Leicester can win trophy after trophy but can't be a big club until they are taken over by a Chinese steel magnate and extend their capacity to 50k?

The argument of someone who thinks football was invented by Sky in 1992 I'm afraid.

Forest and Villa are still bigger clubs than both Toon and Leicester.

Since I rarely use this forum these days I want to say...HOLY #*&# LEICESTER BLOODY WON THE LEAGUE! I mean who would've ever predicted this? This is a story for the ages!

Also...I am slowly getting some Euro Hype! I still hate the fact there are more than 16 teams as they usually do....and I hate the new concept but.......atleast we're getting solid summer football action!
