I think, she is a Lady with guts and style, who seems down to earth and quite nice from her interviews. If you watch her, you can see, that she is still very passionate about Bond and willing to give it her all to make the films successful - even at the risk of failing.

That's one of the things that I admire about her - rather than copying DAD over and over (let's not forget what a huge box office success it was) EOn took a *radically* different tack with CR, with a counter-intuitive casting choice. And it paid off brilliantly.
Of course, some posters here (who I don't think think are active anymore) criticize her for being egotistical for trying to make films "above her station". Really? Wanting to make a Bond film that is both popular *and* good is a bad thing? I find it interesting that that criticism is directed towards her but the people who said that never criticized MGW.
From what I've seen of her in interviews, and from what I've read she seems to be both a talented producer and still quite down-to-earth. It will be interested to see what happens to the franchise with the next producers - surely Bond will be around at least that long! ;-)
I hope that the markets help more.
$5.5 mil in first two days should be over $10 mil by sunday in Japan.
Skyfall has more : yes, it has the Chinese mafia, described as raping Severine, using Shanghai has a place where foreigners can do their illegal trades, etc. But it has also Silva describing how the Chinese *officials* tortured him, and M somehow explaining that was a part of the deal to have a "smooth" transition in the HK change of status. It is very unlikely this part of the plot will be left as it is - torture is a very touchy subject there - , when the film is released in China, if ever it is (China will probably never announce they censor it officially, whether totally or partially).
Will we still reach a billion? I think there's a good chance, it's in the cinema for a bit longer yet.
As Cross should have - 'The Bourne Legacy' was terrible.
I was one of the few people who enjoyed Legacy. Not the best Bourne film but I wouldn't call it terrible at all. It was just average.

More importantly, 'Skyfall' broke the foreign record in the spy/action genre. As of today it has now officially passed 'The Dark Knight Rises', which grossed $633 million in the foreign market. 'Skyfall' now stands at almost $656,600,000 million.
Note for the reader: Take in mind that for, more or less, accurate comparisons, most of the below action/spy movies are produced in 1987 or later. Actually, most of them were produced after the 1990's.
Furthermore, I have updated the list in such a way now, so that you can also use it as a 'watchlist'. Movies with a '▪' are part of a spy/actionhero movie franchise. Movies with a '▫' are rebooted movies or remakes. Movies with a '∞' are based on previous tv-series.

Amazing...isn't it Samuel ;-). I think it's kinda.....weird...but terrific...seeing 'Skyfall' smashed in between the two biggest Bond films from the 1960's :-). Bond is not back. Bond is 'The Destroyer' lol :-P.
Sam Mendes' Skyfall continues its monster box office run, as the 23rd James Bond has officially become Sony's biggest film at the worldwide box office, beating Spider-Man 3. The film has also passed The Dark Knight Rises internationally...
No one saw this coming, that's for sure. According to the latest report, the Sam Mendes-directed 23rd James Bond film has passed Spider-Man 3 at the global box office, and it is officially Sony Pictures' highest-grossing film ever. That is quite amazing. Skyfall still needs to open in China, one of the biggest international markets today. If the film breaks out there, $1 billion should happen, which would make Skyfall the first James Bond film grossing $1 billion at the box office.
Skyfall was back on top this weekend at the domestic box office, beating The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, and the film has also passed Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises at the international box office with $656.6 million.
TB we coming for you ! :D
Sony, MGM and Eon’s James Bond hit added $20.3m internationally to reach $656.6m, and a number one North American haul of $11m for $261.6m to overtake Sony’s previous best of $890m set by Spider-Man 3.
