i am not sure how this compares to the opening of QOS in comparison to countries and screens but SF did open bigger than QOS in UK

What is this then? I was wondering it being so high.
Oct 31–November 2 £22,452,380 +33.6% 76 Quantum of Solace
It's number one in all 25 countries in which it opened. It smashed the all-time Saturday attendance record and is the biggest opening of 2012 and the 2nd biggest Friday-to-Sunday opening weekend in history in the UK. This launch was 76% bigger than Daniel Craig’s first turn as 007, Casino Royale, and 30% bigger than Quantum Of Solace.

Excellent observation of the bleedin obvious.
It's not just great bond film, it's a great film. Sorry for being so obvious...bond buffs and joe public are going to lap it up...biggest ever me thinks.
SKYFALL scores $9.1M (ESTIMATE) OPENING in FRANCE.
HOWEVER...4 YEARS AGO QOS OPENED TO $10,620,181
this is a dissapointment..i was hoping for a bigger result here
Especially with Bereniece in the film.. I'm surprised.
Samuel001? Still not in for the bet I have asked you for ;-)?
I was surprised when my showing on Friday at 18H30 was only about half full...i am wondering if the film opening on Friday had anything to do with this as films here usually open on Wednesdays...

But then again: Russia brought in $8.6 million, 58 percent up (!) on 'Quantum Of Solace'. And it even made a significant dent in smaller European territories like Norway ($2.7 million), Sweden ($2.6 million), Denmark ($2.6 million), Poland ($2.5 million) and Finland ($1.5 million).
I am pretty certain it will. 'Skyfall' has got the potential of creating more buzz among cinema visitors than 'Quantum Of Solace'.
Remember, QOS had a better opening than CR in the USA. But QOS' figures went down faster than CR's. For the very simply reason: QOS wasn't that liked compared to CR.
I am pretty certain 'Skyfall' can keep people coming to the cinema better than its two predecessors.
When does it open stateside again? This weekend? If it NY gets hit as bad as New Orleans with Katrina then SFs hopes of getting up into TDKR territory will be stillborn.
It's opening next weekend. November 9.
No worries. The only fatalities will be those that could have been avoided, unfortunately. But that's how things go. It won't be bad at all, likely no fatalities.
People are just prepping and playing it safe. AKA intelligence.
Nov. 9 - so not this weekend, but next weekend... the storm shall be well over by then, and everything will be alright and back to normal.
So far, a total of 165.000 people have seen Skyfall (one of them was me :D )

Let's not forget that it's opening this week in other European/Latin America countries, and for most of these countries it will be a veeeeeery long weekend due to All Saints' Day festivities (From Thursday to Sunday).
I'll take it. Skyfall won't get anywhere near $900 million worldwide.
