Seems strange that some people actually don't touch liquor or any alcoholic beverages but I've had experiences from that where I can then understand why. I do drink now and again, probably tasted everything under the sun at one time or another, and sometimes paid the price for it, but it does take a lot to get me inebriated, but I don't go out with objectives or try to that effect

In any event, favorite Bond drink right now?, did Bond ever order Milk in the series, because that's what I'd like right now

If not that then maybe a Malt Whisky and Branch Water like George in OHMSS

Great post, @Baltimore_007. My reason is fairly uncomplicated: I don't like the taste of it - period. ;-) As a kid, I already found the smell of beer repulsive - even repugnant. And since smelling is an integral aspect of tasting, I already told myself at that stage that alcohol would not be for me. Then, a few years later, I accidentally had a liquor infused bonbon. My senses reacted so vigorously to that sudden and most awful sensation, I spit it out until I had nothing left in my mouth but my teeth so to speak. ;-) Of course I simultaneously developed an everlasting idolizing of Bond. Can you imagine? Too young to bed women, not allowed to carry - let alone fire weapons, too young to drive cars, not willing to smoke and ALSO not willing to drink. I wasn't the travelling type then either and I disagreed with half of what Bond considers good food. I didn't play cards and I wasn't old enough to don a tux guess. Some Bond fan little me used to be. ;-)

DAD - Bond orders it near the beach where our memory of Honey Rider and her bikini is about to be shattered through blasphemy and later on, Jinx tells us she could learn to like it or something similar. ;-) I fetched my 86 year old grandmother a mojito recently and she liked it. :P

I think I'll go with a Vodka martini. I've had them before but only ones I made myself, so who knows if I made it right. ;))

Call me a snob, but the film-Bond doesn't really have good taste. Heineken's aren't the best beer in the world (allthough I completely agree with Monty Python's description of Bud as beeing like 'making love in a canoe'). His choice of Vodka is....boring. He even drinks burbon instead of a good Single Malt from Scotland or Ireland.
Had some proper Mojhito's in Cuba, and never had the likes again, so I would definately go for a Cuban Mojhito. Allthough Berlin as well as Copenhagen have some good cocktail bars.

I would go for the GE let's catch a plane in mid air stunt, especially because I want to simultaneously test the validity of certain laws of physics. ;-)

The TLD plane stunt because I bet it would give me a real rush.

I´m don´t really like danger, so I guess it will be the one stunt Moore did himself: falling to the ground when Scaramanga shoots Gibson.

Ooooh! #1 for me would be the ski jump with parachute in TSWLM! Because it looks like fun - and needs guts and timing; a superb challenge.
Also: driving the car on just 2 wheels in DAF - just the kid in me (I was a tomboy), that scene made me want to be a stunt car driver.
And in TND, riding the motorcycle while tied to Pierce because, well, I'd love to be that close to him in a dangerous chase (as my mind wanders off now for a while ...) 8->
    Ahem. Back to the list:
And climbing that rocky cliff in FYEO, because I enjoy climbing and trying to sneak up to get the bad guys would be difficult and suspenseful, a great challenge.

Goooood thread idea, Dimmster - and awesome opening gambit.

Here's my top five (in reverse order because I find that more fun ;) ):

    5. The Cuban beach hut ~ GE

I'm assuming this hut that Bond shares with Natalya - and the short of stretch of beach they lay about on - is part of a hotel development; I hope so anyway because what a luxuriant, but stripped back, get-away-from-it-all holiday destination it would be.

    4. The Miami Beach hotel ~ GF

Marvellous Mid-Century Modern design throughout, but mostly because of that viewing-the-swimming-pool-underwater-through-glass gimmick - unlike Felix, I'd probably spend all day down there. ;)

    3. The French Riviera hotel ~ OHMSS

The one in which Bond and Tracy rendezvous after the pre-title sequence. Its style may be a little gaudy, but it's cool as hell (that 'Casino' neon lighting up the pool's irresistible), as well as the opportunity to seduce a girl on a bed on your room's balcony. For some odd reason.

    2. The swanky hotel in Rio ~ MR

Seriously, who wouldn't want to stay here? And in the Presidential Suite, of course, being it's so big you need a cab to get around it when you get lost. Moreover, if Manuela came as an optional extra I'd probably never make it to the carnival at all.

    1. Piz Goria ~ OHMSS

Because, well, you would, wouldn't you? Waking up to that amazing, stark and snowy landscape outside the window, eating in front of the roaring fire at sunlight and walking around a place so achingly '60s-cool it'd have to make you feel like Terence Stamp; it's a no-brainer. Especially if - again - the Angels Of Death were in attendance...

Was that it the French Riviera? I was just watching OHMSS and i got the idea it was in Portugal, I think...

The car flip from The Man With The Golden Gun! You just know, you'd feel sick afterwards but I bet it would be great.

Right! I would have loved to been in that car. OK I checked online; it was Joey Chitwood in LALD but for the car flip scene in TMWTGG it was a British stuntman known as "Bumps" Williard, who got it in one take. According to IMDb (yeah, not always realiable I know), Barry regretted adding the sound effect during this scene because it was a truly dangerous stunt and the sound took away from the moment.

That's the stunt i would pick, the sound effect midway through the stunt cheapens it unfortunately.

I'd go for a spin on the lift just after the PTS in Quantum of Solace. Looked like fun slamming into everything, going up and down, and being shot at.

I would go with either the foot chase from CR, or the knife fight from QoS. Probably the latter. So well choreographed and executed, I can't get over how intense and fun it is to watch that scene unravel.

I'd go for the Acrostar Jet in the Octopussy teaser

I don't mean pilot it myself but then again if there'd only be enough room for the one person, so be it. Anyway, do that and fly through the hangar with the heat seeking missile behind you and escape through the tightest of gaps and away into the sky again as it all blows up down below

Bond's St. Petersburg drive in GE wins for me. How much more fun could one have than to drive a tank through Russia and knock down walls, crash cars and demolish statues? :P
  • Posts: 12,837
Yeah, the GE tank chase wins it for me too. It would just be so fun.
  • edited April 2012 Posts: 1,082
Tank chase in GE would be cool, but I think I choose the firetruck chase in AVTAK. Several cars were damaged (I think one hit a tram) and the police cars were destroyed. Plus the bridge gate.

I would like to do Quantum of Solace car chase in the PTS. Or maybe the GE tank chase

Cool entries! Surprised no-one mentioned the DAD ice chase yet. ;-)

Anyway, we're moving on soon, but a few more choices would be appreciated.

I with the mob. Give me a good old fashion tank chase through Leningrad.

I'd also consider the tanker chase from LTK.

I have tried to think of anything to beat storming St. Petersburg in a tank. I got nothin'.
