Yep I think you might be right actually.
Now that you mention it, I do remember hearing that story before.
Kingsley Amis was asked that very question in an interview with Raymond Benson, here's his response:
"Ah. Well, that was agreed between myself and the publisher and Glidrose. Partly for my convenience. Because it set it apart from my other works. But really, more at the time, it was considered possible that other writers might like to have a crack at it. And so it would be there for all other writers doing sequels in a few years - it would be less confusing if they all had the same pseudonym. No attempt to dissuade the public that it was the same man, but it would be more convenient to market the books and so on."
This goes way back to Dr. No when Bernard Lee played M, but why is it like this?
I came across this article and there was a quote that Craig said "I've been trying to get out of this from the very moment I got into it," This really shocked me. I didnt think he was like that with the 007 role. I can understand his fustrations that he has a great 007 start in Casino Royale but then a shitty follow up with QoS. I just want to ask is there any truth to this article did Craig really want to stop playing Bond after Skyfall had it not been a success?
Where can this 'discussion' even go?
We can disscuess that had skyfall not been a success would craig still have signed on to play Bond 2 more times
I posted it the 2nd time in the actors section because the first one was in the news section then someone sent me the questions disscussion so i posted it here. People get very anal when it comes to someone making a disscussion here no offense
It's Daniel being his regular smart arse self; read between the lines. He's having a fool of the interviewer.
I figure that if she had shot someone, Bond wouldn't need to explain that it's not like the training, because she would already have experienced that. I'd go with "no, she hasn't shot anyone".
Just because she knows how to handle a gun doesn't mean that she has killed someone, though. The gun training was no doubt beaten into her head when she was in her beginning years of service, since it is integral to survival, but maybe she hadn't yet pulled the trigger on a live target.
B-)
Sean you all know what his deal was, George gave up 7 film deal producers probably didnt like that, Dalton left after waiting to long for his 3rd film Cubby probably didnt like that either, Pierce was expecting to do a 5th film but the Producers let him go and he wasnt happy about that and Craig is still the current Bond
So was Roger the only one?
The long wait wasn't Dalton's fault. Officially he resigned but although Cubby stated he wanted him to stay on I think it was a fairly amicable decision for both parties as Tim just wasnt putting bums on seats.
In From Russia With Love, Bond famously mentions his adventure with M in Tokyo. But then in You Only Live Twice, he (and everyone else) acts like it's his first time in Japan.
It's theoretically possible that Bond was making up the story about M, but M turns the radio off immediately, and Bond spent the rest of the conversation trying to keep Tania talking about the Lektor, so it's out of character for him to make up a diversion. What gives?
