In QoS why does Bond tell the red-headed woman at the desk to tell those calling on the phone [Mi6?] that he is headed to Cairo?

It would be MI6 alerted to his attempted use of his company credit card, so he is trying to mislead them because they are obviously trying to reel him in.

Ah, so some classic misdirection? That actually makes sense.

That's it, so if they think he's in Cairo, they'll have their best agents in the area wait for him at the airport. It's pretty smart of Bond, and really cool that he catches that idea before he walks away for good.

This is probably a big question, so I'm embarrassed to ask, but, what is the fate of Jaws and Dolly? I always thought they died, but then Bond says they're 100 miles from Earth (which sounds incredibly sarcastic, but it seems like he's being sincere in that they'll survive), then it shows the space station exploding, which appears to signify that they didn't make it out, but I read online that they:

A.) Manage to escape the exploding debris of Drax's space station, and:
B.) Had plans to bring Jaws back in FYEO.

So, does this mean that they both did survive?

"Colonel Scott reports picking up 2 survivors from the space station. A tall man and a short blonde woman".

Mind you, exactly how Colonel Scott "picked up" the 2 of them is anybody's guess!

Ahh, I remember hearing that line, but paid no mind to it and just attributed it to Bond and Goodhead, for some reason. Literally paid it no attention.

Well, given the "super realistic" zero gravity and amount of noise during the space battles, I can't really fault the film for pulling out more impossibilities.

This. They made it pretty clear they both survived. I don't think EON ever had plans to bring Jaws back for FYEO as that would've been beyond repetitive. Plus Jaws had already turned from the dark side. I just think he was a popular character and the producers assumed people wanted to see him live.

@DoubleOhhSeven, attribute it to me tuning out towards the end of the film, coupled with not having seen it in a long time!

IMO they could have used Jaws in the PTS of FYEO, just to put a cap on 'goofy' Bond. Sort like saying 'ok, he's dead. Can we be serious now?'

I think I would've preferred that than the PTS we got. I know they were going to have Jaws in FYEO marrying Dolly, so I'm sure they could've made something cool of that.

I still think that it was ridiculously stupid that they decided to turn Jaws, who we saw to be a ruthless murderer, into a good guy because Lewis Gilbert's child wanted him to be a "goodian" rather than a "badian". The suggestions of small children, although cute and innocent, probably shouldn't be taken seriously when making the most ambitious entry of a mega Hollywood franchise.

If that happened then i would have said 'adios' to the whole bloody thing out of embarrassment..

Another question that cropped up during my Bondathon.

In TLD, where does Bond disappear to when Necros attacks the safe house and takes Koskov? Wasn't he just with him, and isn't that pretty much his mission? Surprised he bailed and left him.
    M to the Minister:

"Due to the importance of what mr Koskov has just told us, I believe we should adjourn to London and consult with higher authority."

    Minister:

"By all means! Good day mr Koskov."

We get a clear shot of Bond getting ready to leave with his superiors. Why would he stay behind? The mission was seccesfully finished, Koskov had defected to safety in England. There's really no reason for him to stay...

I guess it threw me off that Bond stayed in the room after M departed, so I believed that Bond was staying behind, too. I don't know, I think I need to pay more attention/go back and rewatch scenes. Sometimes I get sidetracked or pause it and just lose focus.

What?! Yeah, I really have to set other things aside when I watch Bond films, haha. The problem is that I think I know them better than I really do, so I'll end up typing up some thoughts as I go along, and I always seem to miss something.

Apologies if this has been asked before.

I watched CR last night and it occurred to me how random it is that Bond checks the Ocean Club's security footage and it just so happens that Dimitrios sent the text to Mollaka at the very instant he stepped out of the DB5, right in the center of one of the cameras' FOV.

So my question is, how the hell did Bond even know the text was sent from the Ocean Club? Yes, he tracks the text's origin from the Bahamas, but that's it, isn't it? He doesn't get any more specific details from M's laptop beyond that. How did he know to check the security footage from that date? We might be dealing with a huge deus ex machina moment here.

@StirredNotShaken, well, the text has a send date on it, so you can be sure that Dimitrios would check it as soon as he received it. I always wondered this, too, how perfectly it was set up, but when he traces the location of where the text was sent to, you can see that it shows the location to be right out front of the Ocean Club. When Bond kneels down in front of the club and ties his shoe, he checks and sees that there's a camera right there, so he's in luck.

Spot on, Creasy. The tracking signal is right out the front:

Thank you. It's just Bond's luck that Dimitrios wasn't in some random location outside when the text was sent.

If he had any brains, he would've stayed in the backseat with Solange.

When she comes up behind him, looking gorgeous in that dress, and kisses him, and he gets pissed off because she's late and shrugs her off, I always smirk at the fact that he's shaking off someone so beautiful. Oh well, his loss. I've said it before, but Dimitrios receives the cruelest of treatments from Bond: 007 takes his car, some of his money, his woman, ruins his reputation, kills him with his own weapon, and for the final bit of salt on the wound, playfully pats his face after he killed him, just to take off and stop the destruction of the plane.

:)) That face pat never fails to amuse me. It should be CraigBond's signature move, like Brosnan's corpse kissing.

If only, but I'd have to say Craig's signature is probably throwing stuff violently, yet in a really cool manner. I can't recall what he tosses in CR, but he throws the hotel keys on the desk in QoS before hooking up with Strawberry Fields, and he throws the laptop angrily in the PTS of SF.

Now that you mention it, Brosnan does do a lot of corpse kissing, but I believe he and Craig are tied (unless I'm forgetting someone). Brosnan kisses Paris and Elektra, and Craig kisses Vesper and M.

Now that would be great. Something for the Bond 24 wish list.

When? I really can't recall this, surprisingly. He also might throw his key card during the big casino scene, and something else I love, he's more prone to throwing his chips/shoving them so they scatter on the casino table, as opposed to Le Chiffre's light stacking. It's a nice little comparison between the personalities of both hero and villain.

Interesting. Well that debunks the BrosnanBond necrophilia theory then. Back to Craig's tossing of objects- for Bond24 I want to see the object thrown out of frame and either hear a cat screech or Wilhelm scream.

When he pretends to be a parking attendant, after he crashes the car of the German(?) tourist.
