There will likely be more than one supplier which the props department will use in each film. But it would likely be the set designers vision combined with the prop master doing the logistical part. Each item will have a best producer e.g Black Agstrum are considered the finest makers of business cards. Most props for the film are custom made rather than purchased from a supplier. The art department would create all the photos. Smythson of Bond street are considered the finest makers of bespoke stationery from memory I believe they have done work for films in the past.

What are the dated Bond films, where the year is mentioned, or rather can be read as in OHMSS and CR? Are there others?

There's a lot of cold war talk in the pre-Brosnan era, and after that some "I miss the cold war" dialogue by M or similar references.

Thatcher was PM for 11 years, so not that specific. Kennedy was President in GF? How do you reckon? He was shot before the film started shooting.

I just Googled on what day GF started shooting and found it was 20 January 1964. Kennedy was shot on 22 November 1963. So Lyndon B. Johnson would've been the incumbent.

I am thinking more specifically of the Happy New Year sign in OHMSS and the date on the surveillance disk in CR. You can make out the specific year. Any other such instances that are not equally obvious and visible?

Not thinking of events that are ambiguously hinted at either, like "the world changed while you were away".

OHMSS: Playboy mag (February 1969) - visible, but not readable
    TMWTGG: Phuyuk bottle (1974)
    AVTAK: Zorin cheque (3.May 1985)
TND: Tomorrow newspaper (13 April 1997) - visible, but not readable
TWINE: King bank statement (15th November 1999); Zukovsky casino cheque (7/12/99)
DAD: Inflight mag (November 2002) - visible, but not readable
    CR phones: Mollaka (06/07/06); Dimitrios (06-Jul-06); Carlos (09-Jul-06); Vesper (04-Aug-06);
    QOS: Greene invite (8.23.08)

There are others that show the day and month only- the year is left ambiguous.

    Thanks, @PropertyOfALady.

So two tears have passed between CR and QOS after all, despite QOS starting minutes after the end of CR. Where would a big gap like that fit in?

Just another continuity error, of course.

Between CR and QOS? The big gap is in CR, before Bond encounters Mr. White.

It wouldn't be the whole two years at once, there are probably mini breaks of time parsed throughout QOS as well I imagine. I haven't seen it in awhile.

IMO QoS is a few hours after CR.

The 'time jump' between CR and QOS is strange, especially considering those dates that have been mentioned. The only way it makes sense to me is if the final scene in CR (shooting White) takes place in 2008 - which would mean it took Mi6 two years to track down White. Then again, would Vesper's death be so fresh on Bond's mind if that were the case? Eh, I just don't know.

Perhaps Spectre can resolve all these threads? ;)

Is there a clean image of Vesper and Yusef anywhere? Love to find one.

Even though the year is not shown in Fekkesh diary, Wednesday August 3 is from 1977. Of course it falls on other years, but as Spy was released in 1977, this makes sense.

I've spent some time analyzing the x-ray of Bond's plane ticket in GE, as well as comparing it to a real-world counterpart. Just under where it says 'date of issue', we can see the date '03FEB', but there is no year written after this. Instead, underneath this date, it actually looks like the prop department have overlayed two other random dates (to me, it looks like '14OCT' overlapping '?SEP') to become unreadable. Curiously, this is the only printing on the ticket I cannot decipher, and I can't see any record of '1995' anywhere on the ticket. I've come to the unsatisfying conclusion that they've overlayed the two dates purposely to leave the text/the year unreadable- or more to the point- ambiguous, which begs the question- do we even see '1995' displayed anywhere in the film?

    Add Spectre to this list.
The Empire edition of Spectre describes a scene in which there is a notepad on Swann's desk with the date listed as 25/4/15.

Had a go for you with this but it's really LoRes so is going to be very soft:

Awesome! Lo Res is just fine... there's no way to get it in high-res I don't think.

How did Irma Bunt know that Bond was going to Ruby's room (so to expect him in bed?)

I thought it was because Bond left a book in one of the other rooms. I assumed Irma found the book at some point.

That, or a bit of hypnosis interrogation on the girls. Remember, they were all brainwashed.

How did Bunt learn to giggle like Ruby?

That's always been one of the few things that bugged me about OHMSS- it's clearly Ruby who is in bed when Bond walks in, then Bunt appears from nowhere when he sits on the bed.

    She's a cunning b*ch, that Bunt.

Ok, there's some editing trickery, but I'm having a hard time believing a deep-voiced German woman can make those kind of giggles. Unless Ruby is hidden underneath the bed?

Either that, or Irma's been on the helium again.

If SPECTRE really is 160 minutes, what are your thoughts on the matter? Would you like to see a 3 hour Bond film one day?

I think 3 hours would really be too far, but then if it has all the qualities you look for in a Bond film, then i know time can fly by. This was my issue with QOS being so short.
