Here's one. In LTK it is made known several times that Sanchez knows who Pam is and that he wants her dead being the only agent left involved in the Sanchez operation.

Now Sanchez who doesn't know who Bond is at the time watches him on the monitors in his office playing blackjack. Pam the whole time is sitting right next to Bond playing blackjack.

Now wouldn't Sanchez recognize Pam? I mean he knows who she is and wants her dead he didn't realize she was right in his casino? Also if he did recognize her couldn't he also put 2 & 2 together that Bond was with Pam in the casino? Wouldn't Sanchez want to know why Bond was with Pam?

I just noticed this little bit of bad writing maybe somebody could clear it up for me

Well, a haircut can change a person's face. And that's what Pam has had done to her. Plus, only Dario had seen her up close and personal by that point.

Thanks to Troy and Abed in 'Community' I know how to say 'donde esta la biblioteca?', but that's all the spanish I know.

Yes, exactly, though isn't it convenient that the one Sanchez henchman (and his top man to boot) is absent for most of the film until "the reveal" of Bond's true identity as an informer at the cocaine processing plant. Well, it is a Bond film I suppose! ;)

Are Sanchez and Dario gay lovers? I just read a review that said that LTK was a lot like TMWTGG the novel in that Bond gains the villains trust and infiltrates his organisation. The reviewer went on to speculate that because Scaramanga has homosexual tendencies in the novel, perhaps Sanchez was subtlety implied to be gay in the film. The reviewer cites Sanchez tenderly stroking the cheek of the young henchman Dario as evidence that the two could be lovers. They also say that Sanchez's pink shirt could have been another indicator, and perhaps Sanchez is trusting of Bond because he finds him attractive so he let's his guard down. Of course if this is the case, then Silva wasn't the first gay villain after all.

I don't know, what do you guys think? I know Sanchez has Lupee, but that doesn't mean he isn't secretly bi or something. I have always interpreted the line: "we gave her a nice honeymoon!" as meaning that Dario and the other thugs gangraped Della, so perhaps he isn't gay, I don't know, What do you think?

I would have taken Silva to be bi. Not just gay. He flirts with Bond, yes, but he also had a relationship with Severine.

I got the same kind of suspicion about Wint and Kidd.

Well, for those two, the line "For a woman" was a very big giveaway, that's for sure.

I always assumed he was just messing with Bond's head.

Me too. I think the only real gay folks we've had are Klebb, Wint, Kidd & perhaps Elvis?

    Is Mr White racist?

If there was a new Bond villain who was black and called Mr Black and who was evil, would that not be considered some sort of stereotype?

He was called Mr Big, which was stereotypical enough.

No, it's just that Quantum's members seem to have colour-coded names. I'm very sure that there was no racial intent there.

I'm not offended, thanks for that knee-jerk assessment. I just think 20 odd white villains and 1 black villain is a little askew. I mean, could you imagine if they made the villain black almost every time. Talk about offense then...

Exactly. White, Greene, Silva... They all refer to colours.

Slate as well, I guess. Still no Mr Black though. I guess they dodged the bullet on that one.

I'm talking about a new character, though. That's different from changing the race of an existing one.

I honestly don't think there's anything to this theory. If blacks were all the villains and there was one white villain at the table no doubt that would be highly objectionable to some also. Best not to read too much into these things and get carried off into a tangent by it. That's just my thoughts anyway.

Interestingly, I watched LALD this week and that is indeed the case in that film if I'm not mistaken. Very daring and I'm amazed that I only noticed it this time after all these years. Even Rosie is a villain. Only Strutter is there as the token good guy.

Good point. Forgot about him. At least he survived. Strutters wasn't so fortunate.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my god how did I not realise this?

EDIT: Wait, if Silva was colour-coded from his inception, was SF always meant to be tied back to Quantum?

Exactly, how ridiculous! Yes clearly Sanchez is just very amorous.
