Good to see you here @SirHenry, I think I speak for all the girls here, you are always welcome in our humble home :)

Thanks Sandy. Forgive me if I giggle a little on my saddest day of the year. But lots and lots of girls have said that before ;))

I'm glad I made you smile in such a sad day, "smile though your heart is breaking" (Chaplin).

:-h I wish you all a nice and sunny weekend. Looks like we gonna have this here in Germany.

Bondwise we are now in the time, where every new day can bring something new, which is exciting and something to look forward to.

A short time ago people where melancholic, stating that there was going to be no exciting announcements leading up to Skyfall's release. I wholeheartedly disagree.

Have a lovely weekend ladies and gentlemen! It's shaping up to be a lovely weekend, nice weather in Germany indeed @Germanlady. Lot's of exciting stuff coming our way my friends!

Any plans for the weekend? I quit resisting and am finally going to (or at least I plan to) buy a bike tomorrow so wish me luck ;)

I am writing up my two delayed reviews for the Originals thread (LALD and TSWLM), then I will be caught up. I'll also be finishing writing up kindergarten assessments, walking my dog, wishfully thinking it is getting cooler here (I hate summer but love autumn), finish reading Casino Royale (last time was 30 plus years ago) and watch some dvds. A nice, mostly relaxing weekend - yay! I think you have nicer weather in Germany now.

By the way, if you have time you may want to write up your own villain bio on the other thread; it was fun for me, imagining myself as a Bond villain.

And 0Brady, thanks for all your hard work on the contests!

    Cheers, everyone!

This thread has been left abandoned and that's just not right. So many things to discuss and at least this thread is spoiler free ;)

So girls (and boys) why not use this thread to discuss things that do not fit in other threads but are may use a female view?

    I'll suggest a theme:

Are you planning on wearing something special for your first Skyfall viewing? Please share :)

I'll do my best to look Bond-girl worthy but not exaggerated. Perhaps a nice dress, carefully applied (and slightly dramatic) makeup. Watching a Bond film is not a casual event, it is an Event martinismiley.gif

I'll probably just wear normal clothes, I won't be dressing up. T shirt, jacket, jeans.

I might get away with wearing just a pair of la perla trunks ;) but on the serious side it will be casual for me ..shirt ands slacks.

Seeing as how if I can, I will be seeing the SF VUE screening at 10:20, I will be going in my normal everyday clothes.

If I don't have time to change (meaning if I go straight from work) I'll go casual too ;)

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 I'd like to see a photo of you for sure.

Lucky @MajorDSmythe, you have an early session. I'll be lucky if the film is released in original version on opening day in the city where I live, I refuse to watch it (or any other film for that matter) dubbed in German :-L

I will try to get pics taken. If I had a tux or dinner jacket you can bet your poison tipped shoes I'd go in that. If I owned a legitimate Batman suit I would have worn that to The Dark Knight Rises too, without any embarrassment. Alas, it wasn't so...

I'll be wearing very warm clothes at first because it will be cold - the first week in December (waaaaaahhh!) - but I'll try to spice it up with fun casual wear (I need to be comfy in a theatre) and include some big sunglasses a la Audrey Hepburn, a long scarf that can turn into a pillow, and comfy shoes. And perfume. ;) Oh, James ...

Luckily I will have about 2 weeks of the film being shown in English!

Nothing is set in stone yet, I don't even have my ticket. There doesn't seem to be any charity events this time around. So providing the screening doesn't sell out, i'll be seeing SF on the first screening on the Friday.

Normal for me, but I know in London many go in tux and suits for their first showing.

They do? I lived in London for years and still go there sometimes, and I never saw anybody in a tux when I went to see a Bond film :) (and I saw GE, TND, TWINE and DAD the day they came out).

I'm going to wear my black sweater with zip up turtleneck and probably black pants or camo pants.

Well, I us was there for QOS and did see some besides reading of experiences, where they wore it. But not a biggie... ;)

Ha! and I thought someone would question why I am wearing sunglasses to a theatre ...! (just for looking Audrey-fabulous on the way in that's all). The scarf is just to be comfy - I like to sink down in my seat for the best films. No nodding off guaranteed!
  • The opening night of DAD was the biggest "Bond" experience that I've ever attended. There have been feelings of excitement and anticipation when you see a new Bond film, but that night was like no other - people treated it like a huge party. Several guys showed up in tuxes and girls in evening gowns, but they were all about 20 years old and younger. Still, I've never seen an audience that into a Bond film and it was the most enjoyable Bond experience I've ever had in a theatre.

As for the premiere of SF I doubt that I would wear a suit, but I wouldn't be showing up in a tee shirt or track pants either...
  • but I wouldn't be showing up in a tee shirt

Cmon mate, don't make me feel bad! ;)
