@oo7: I agree, the recent covers have been pretty bland and worthless. I miss the old covers for Bond games like Agent Under Fire, Nightfire, and Everything or Nothing. There was some definite work put into those. I'd think that the cover would be one of the most important aspects of the game anyhow, because you want the buyer's eye to be caught immediately.

Aside from Bond covers, I rather liked the cover for Batman Arkham Asylum.

Activision might not believe that. Back during the days of AUF, NF and EoN, magazine previews and then finally the game's cover art when it was released were all most people had to go on before buying the game. Now, we still have magazine previews, but more and more people watch trailers on YouTube, Gametrailers, Gamespot, IGN... all those other place, and a lot of people fall back on "I like the series, I'll get this one, too". Activision has a lot of reasons to believe the last one, seeing as there are way too many COD-whores out there who buy the games simply because they say "Call of Duty". It could be "Call of Duty presents: My Little Pony Dreamland" and they'd still buy it simply because "Call of Duty" is in the title.

Okay, what does AC have to do with 007 Legends. I suggest you make your own AC thread. I come here to read any new development regarding this game, not to be disappointed that this thread is full of AC discussion.

We've also talked about Nightfire, Facebook, COD, etc. This thread has gone off topic more than once, we never started a whole new thread about any of the other topics. I don't see how 1 or 2 comments is filling it with AC discussion.

Anyway, I'm still hoping Dalton's films aren't announced. I don't want to play through them if it's Craig, it's bad enough they used him for GE.

The one thing that bugs me with GE being done over and over again is that it was the only Bond game they seem to be truly proud of, and they feel that if they continuously make new version of GE, with different Bond actors, weapons, gadgets, etc., it will have the same entertainment level that the original did on the N64 - but it won't. They need to move on, and either do a different film, or start up a whole new plot, i.e. AUF, NF, EON, etc.

GE, as a video game, will never be as fun as the original was. Why? Because it was a highly entertaining shooter that was made 1,000x better because it was at a time that online gaming wasn't, so inviting a bunch of your friends over for an all-night split-screen GE battle was some of the most fun you could have with the game.

I've never played the N64 version, but you're right, I don't belive that it will ever be the same. And yes, they highly need to move on to another Bond movie for a game! I love GoldenEye more than anyone else along with Crease, but I'd rather not ruin the movie by making it repetitive and typical! I think it's time we had a re-make of TND or TWINE if anything.

@00Beast, exactly. TWINE on the N64 was excellent, and TND on Playstation 1 was real fun, but a modern version of those - just once - could be excellent.

They should only remake more Brosnan films (or any other films), if they get the original actor. Why can't they just think up an original story?

Because they don't have brains installed in their heads.

Yes! I would love to see how the multiplayer would turn out! I could only imagine playing on Carver's stealth boat against him and Stamper or in the Maiden's Tower against Elektra and Renard! Sadly I don't think that will ever happen. Apparently it always has to be about appealing to the Call of Duty teenagers who are just trigger-happy baffoons with no other games to their name.

@00Beast, which is really sad because every game seems to take that route these days, and so many games go far away from what they're known and loved for, just to be 'more like CoD,' thinking they will sell better, when, in fact, it just makes me hate the game.

It's simple: if I wanted to play CoD - which I don't - then I would go out and purchase a CoD game. I play other games because that's what I want to play.

Precisely! If it's Call of Duty you want, then by all means, go out and buy one or wait for the new one. Leave our Bond games alone! GoldenEye's remake already suffered enough from the COD franchise, let's not let that continue into others. However, sometimes I believe that there won't be any others that are actually original because all too often there goes the COD approach just to appeal to the kids. Seriously, the only original Bond game we've had recently is Blood Stone, and I praise the makers of that fine game for stepping away from the crowd.

With Bond now owned by Activision, we can expect Bond COD games for a long time to come. And once the license to thrill moves over to another company, we'll still see Bond COD games, because it'll likely move over to a company that makes COD clones, saw that Activision's formula was successful (by critical reviews and pure sales numbers) and will just attempt to copy their success as well as their games.

Bond and COD are now forever married. And this is something we'll just have to live and deal with.

@Agent007391, not me. I don't play CoD any longer because they felt like the same, rehashed junk, year after year, and I was lucky enough to catch on quick. As much as I love James Bond, I won't continue to play the games if it goes down the same road: I don't enjoy spending $60 every year for the same exact thing, so count me out as they continue to do so. Full-price purchase? Absolutely not. Borrowing the game from a friend or getting it as a bargain bin buy? perhaps.
  • How about no more posting in this thread until there is something actually related to the game to talk about? I keep seeing the thread updated and get excited thinking there will be soething new, but it's a never ending back and forth of how much Activision sucks.

I agree. Or talk about some other games , not related to Legends.

I still play them, but I don't condone what Activision does. I don't buy COD at full price, anymore, simply because I discovered at COD 2 that the series was never going to change. I don't like what Activision does, but I know I can't change it. Activision will keep making COD, will never change them, will make COD clones under other licenses, and will never change them.

I agre with Creasy about that. If Legends is the same as GE, i'll give up on it.

Blood Stone was the only one who worths something at Activision.

If someday i am wrong, and Legends become a great game, i'll delete this post.

Any ideas of what the next revealed movie might be?! I honestly think it could be anything.

I couldn't say, but I need to be excited about this game, and nothing has sold it to me yet. After seeing MR I am underwhelmed. It all looks so unpolished, just downright horrendous.

I would actually be very happy and pleased if it was DAD! 2002 was a new height for video games, and we didn't get DAD as a game, and when considering it's heavy game potential, I think it's about due time, what with its tenth anniversary approaching.

I Agree, I Was hoping that DAD would make it on the PS2 next to Nightfire but it didn't happen and I was somewhat disappointed, but! I can watch the film whenever I want! ;)

I think that DAD should have been the game and EON the film.

I mean, I like Die Another Day, and probably more than the 90% of the members on here, but in some ways I agree completely. EoN had that movie storyline set-up feel to it, and all the elements of a great Bond movie were present. I've read a lot of posts about this, and how Brosnan should have ended his tenure on EoN instead of DAD. It's an interesting thought, and one that might have been something cool back in the day.

I honestly don't I'll care what film they select for which actor, as long as they are all games we have yet to play. DAD would be very entertaining: ice chase, perhaps a non-QTE sword fight, PTS hovercraft chase, fight on the airplane at the end. I'd love it.
