@Agent007391 We probably all should've known, but we could've hoped for something different.

    2) Please, find something other than snowmobiles and rocket launchers to complain about. There's plenty else in the screenshots we've already seen

I will never stop complaining about them adding snowmobiles and rocket launchers into what was one of the most iconic action scenes in the franchise. And I have seen the screenshots - especially the one with Tracy that doesn't look a thing like the movie Tracy.

But I guess you'd be OK if they made DN and during the attack on Dr No's lair, Bond would machine gun his way through the goons and Dr No would fire a rocket launcher at him. There's just so much stupidity Bond fans can take. I'm sure if @TheWizardofIce saw they've added rocket launchers to Piz Gloria, he'd be up in arms.

You need to realize this game is a downright insult to the films it depicts, so I don't see how this game can be advertized as '007 Legends'. They should change the title because it's a travesty. I'm sure Lazenby is laughing all the way to the bank that he didn't get asked to lend his voice and likeness to the game when he saw what monstruosity they've made of his film

Not once did I say I'd be okay with any of these changes. My problem is the broken record of snowmobiles and rocket launchers - which you've complained about in no less than 3 posts on the same page.

Again, I'm not endorsing any of these changes, I would just like for you to look at some of the other ones and start complaining about them for a little while, and then go back to the snowmobiles and rocket launchers for a teensy bit, and then complain about the new string of changes.

Although maybe that Dr. No firing a rocket launcher thing would help. He's the only Terrance Young film villain I really didn't feel was a threat.

Oh, and by the way, I do realize that this film is an insult to the franchise, what you need to realize is that Activision, EON and Eurocom don't care. They're looking for the dollar signs to be had from a COD clone.

In that case the only hope is to wait until 2014 and wish Activision don't get their rights extended.

I would prefer that as well, but they'll probably get the rights extended, because Eurocom is making Activision money, and Activision is making EON a ton of money by putting out COD clones, which are all getting good reviews by the critics because they're COD clones.

These critics should be [heavy mod censorship], alongside everyone responsible for GE:Wii, GE:Reloaded and 007:Legends.

For once he is spot on.

    This is the final straw.
Today we end Activsions tirantical ways.
Over these four years they have made one good game and sacked the people who made it.
For to long we have gone with out decent 007 gaming.
For to long have they recast Craig in every waking bond film.
I say today is the day it must end

    VIVA LE REVOLUTION.

(Although by December I may grow week)

I know I won't be purchasing it. They can trash the Bond legacy all they want, and while some will flock to buy it day one, I most certainly won't. I'd rather burn my $60 and change and dance around the fire, right outside of my local GameStop. If we keep receiving the same games over and over (like Call of Duty has injected into the blood of nearly every developer out there) and if we keep getting delivered games that absolutely tarnish predecessors, other source material, etc., then I'll find myself becoming dedicated to less and less games.

Why do that when around the same time you can spend $40 on the superb Doom 3 BFG Edition?

@Agent007391, what? I had no idea it was going to be out so soon. Hmm, I just might have to do so.

That, or I'll take the money I was debating purchasing '007 Legends' with, and just put it towards my SF fund, making sure I see the movie five times or more.

It'll be either Doom 3 or the Zone of the Enders HD Collection, both released at around the same time both at $40.

On the subject of Snowmobiles and Rocket Launchers. Did we all forget about The Take on the Runway or the huge number of Rocket launchers in GoldenEye 64 even though there was no Tank on the Runway or Rocket launchers in the movie? It's a game! chill out.

@Murdock, I was young when I played GoldenEye 64. I didn't care; the game looked like GE and there was shooting involved, so it was good enough for me. Now that I've been a hardcore Bond fan for over ten years, I can't accept that as easily as I could when I was young. It isn't the same.

True. But I'm still getting it. I enjoyed GoldenEye wii to some extent, then my wii kicked the bucket and I haven't gotten a new one yet.

Despite the fact that it is looking a bit Call of Dutyish and lacking as far as the full Bond experience is concerned, I will still most definitely be buying Legends. For one, it is a Bond game, which are my favorite games to play. Secondly, knowing irony, it would turn out that I decided never to buy it and figure out that I've been missing out all along once I figure out that it's epic. Therefore, I'd rather get it soon and determine for myself whether or not I like it, not just writing it off now based on two trailers.

Bunch of nitpickers , now are we?

Look, some of you grew up playing and the franchise was introduced to you via the video games and you nitpick this much? I grew up watching the films and then was introduced to video games and I can wrap my head around the idea that some things are different in video games. The location looks very much like Pizz Gloria seen in film, and you're doing the same thing Bond did in the film ; attacking Blofeld's headquarters with Marc Ange Draco's troops. They've captured that bit. Sure, there been some changes made, but we still get to relive the attack.

And Craig has only been in one re-imaging so far. I don't care how much you twist the fact, but he's only been in Goldeneye re-imaging..

I will be buying this game.

How can you possibly say that ? It looks nothing like Piz Gloria. I see Activision has successfully brainwashed you in thinking they're doing proper homages to Bond's 50th anniversary.

Wake up - this game is an insult to the Bond legacy and to the films it depicts. It is you who are twisting the fact - this game looks nothing like the films it adapts. If you honestly believe OHMSS looked CoD-esque, there is something wrong with you. The Piz Gloria is one of the most iconic sequences of the franchise, and they've totally vomited all over it.

I cannot believe some people are happilly accepting this downright insult to Bond's legacy. Yes the game looks fun... but that's it. Saying it looks like Piz Gloria is, so, so wrong. '007 Legends' does not look a thing like MR and OHMSS, end of.

Maybe you should rewatch OHMSS and MR again to refresh your memory. You are insulting George Lazenby and Peter Hunt when you say this COD nonsense looks like their original film.

Stop living in a fantasy world for christ's sake and look at what's infront of you... Activision said they would pay homage to 5 classic Bond movies. As of now they've only managed to vomit all over 2 past Bond movies. But of course, this game has Daniel Craig in it, so it must be good.... get that out of your head !! Craig isn't the problem, the problem is that this game looks nothing like the original movies. Twist the fact all you want, but is simply does not look like OHMSS and MR. You make me think you've never watched MR and OHMSS if you honestly say this game is faithful to them

This game looks fun..... OK.... but it factually does not look a thing like MR and OHMSS, and will probably not look a thing like the other 3 classic films it will adapt. Anyone who say the contrary are just plain wrong. Or they need to have an appointment with their occulist. I refuse to believe that Activision has managed to brainwash hardcore fans... we need to unite against the enormities Activision are doing... but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the games... it just means to tell it as it is - this is simply not faithful at all to the original films.

The full On Her Majesty's Secret Service trailer is here:

The important bits: Diana Rigg's likeness as Tracy, a generic Blofeld with a scar a la Donald Pleasence, and Daniel Craig as James Bond.

I agree with @SharkBait, too much nitpicking. It's a game, it's not supposed to be exactly like the films.
I can understand being disappointed by Craig playing Bond in every mission. Sure, I'd love to see all the Bonds in 007: Legends, but let's be honest, it's too much for one game.
Would you rather have a generic Bond in the whole game than Daniel Craig? I wouldn't.

I don't recall Blofeld having a scar in OHMSS..... :-B

Too much CoD-style action for this to be even remotely similar to OHMSS. Lazenby must be laughing all the way to the bank when he saw this trailer 'thank god they didn't ask me to lend my voice and likeness for this !' What's with all the rocket launchers, machine guns ? I don't remember Lazenby machine-gunning down a helicopter while skiing, or firing a machine gun onboard a helicopter.

I'd much rather play a stealth mission as Sir Hilary Bray/Bond sneaking about Piz Gloria followed by an action packed ending. Too much focus on blowing shit up for me. I'd rather they just craft an original storyline and not degrade a plethora of awesome Bond moments.

Okay, the Blofeld in that trailer seemed to have Donald Pleasence's scar, Telly Savalas' head shape, and his lips and nose seemed to be Charles Grey's. Did they morph the three actors together to make this Blofeld?

No, but there lots and lots of grenades involved, and let's not forget the moment where he slides on the ice while firing the machine gun at Blofeld's troops.

I take it from blofeilds appearance change that there is a new actor playing him? also do you think the scar down the eye means YOLT will be a mission?
does anyone recognise the character models face?

I'm down with this, I read someone wanted to see this done in the arkham asylum or deus ex hub system of exploring and detecting. i thought casino royal could have done a good job in that way as well, having a whole building to stealth around and explore with alot of different small stories taking place. this will be another throw away experience.

    This is moronic.

First off, how would Lazenby be "laughing to the bank" because he didn't get paid to use his voice and likeness. Trust me, Lazeny would be in this in a heartbeat.

Two, would you get over it, it's a game. Games have action. End of. I'm extremely excited that OHMSS, a movie I never thought had a hope of being adapted into a game in a billion years, is getting a game. We should consider ourselves lucky but, in typical Internet fashion, we are whining.

Bond vs. blofeld in a game's story: incredible.

BTW, I love what they did with blofeld. A combination of the Blofeld everyone knows and loves mixed with Tell's more physical build. Genius.

Yes, George would do it for sure if asked. Anything to inflate his insuperable ego. Throw in some women so he can piggishly manipulate them into sex, and it's a done deal.

How can we be 'lucky' to have an adaptation that takes a huge dump on OHMSS ? How can you be excited for an adaptation of OHMSS that looks nothing like OHMSS ? If there's anything moronic, it's this insulting game.

No we shouldn't. Fans keep franchises afloat and I've been one since 3 years of age. I feel like I have put enough time and energy into supporting Bond, along with countless others, to be able to stand back and say sorry guys you may have dropped the ball here.

I shall wait and see what comes of this game and judge it on the final product but I shall never consider myself lucky to have something that to all extents and purposes suggests a cash-in at my expense.
