ANOTHER NEW CANDIDATE AS A FUTURE BOND

Having seen the brilliant new Avengers film last night, I couldn't help but be impressed by Tom Hiddlestone who plays the villain of the piece. Excellent actor and very charismatic and I can really see him as potential Bond post-Dan Craig, assuming Tom Hardy is unavailable!

Avengers was indeed good, your man doesn't have that x-factor i think, not enough to carry a film. Makes a good co-star. And would he make love to Greene until he begged for mercy?

I suggested Hiddleston already here and over at CBM.

Saw Eddie Redmayne recently on TV, he's been in a few things. My Week with Marilyn being the last film I think...he's quite a good actor won a few awards, stage and screen. By the time Craig steps down he'll be well seasoned in talent and looks and has that upper class face if they want to take Bond back to the old 'Etonian' look (where Eddie in fact went to school). Just a thought. I mean where else are they going to go after Craig?

I think the next Bond is pretty much a straight dog fight between Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender. I for one want Hardy to be the next Bond, best actor out of England for a very long time.

Assuming Craig is going to be around for at least another two movies, I think all speculation at this point is fairly futile. The future Bond is likely to be somone currently almost completely off the radar.

Most likely, someone who has had very few leading roles.

We are in 2012... Craig is Bond until atleast 2016 or even 2018. that means we are 4/6 years away from the choice of Bond #7. Did anyone ever consider Craig as Bond in 2001 or 1999 ? No. So fact is, we have no idea at all who will be Bond. Main contenders today may very well be over-run by someone who was a total stranger 5 years before his casting as Bond.

Agreed - Fassbender and Hardy in my mind, will be too well known by then. Candidates at this point are either unknown or absolutely on the periphery of minor fame.

I think Fassbender will be too old as well.

Agreed. Need to look at actors who are around 30 (ish) so when Craig steps down (say in about 6 years) they should be mid late thirties to give them a good run with it.
    Example only:
    Redmayne is 30.
    Hardy is 35.
    Fassbender is also 35.
